Your pronunciation is quite nice but let me give you some tips! 1. You pronounce 여러분 as 여러븐, try to make it more into an ㅜ sound. 2. 십육 is not pronounced 십-육 but 심뉵 (shimnyuk). So 이심뉵뿐 (ishimnyukppun). 3. You pronounce 까지 as 가지, ㄲ (just like ㅃ ㅉ ㅆ ㄸ) is a "dry" sound. You must not expire while making that sound otherwise you're saying ㄱ. I don't know if you get what I mean ^^ You kinda say "ghaji" and that's 가지. 4. You pronounce 출근하다 as 줄근하다. ㅊ is really a "ch" sound just like in "chapter". You pronounce it perfectly when you say 아침.
I think you're videos are great. But one thing that disturbs me is the background music. I totally love the songs, but when it's you talking a lot in the videos and then the background songs are songs were there's actually someone singing, it gets kinda disturbing and there's just too much noise? If you know what I mean? Like just instrumental songs would be better in my opinion. :-)

Also for age you maybe should have mentioned that it can be said in Sino-Korean numbers as well as Native Korean numbers. Native Korean numbers use 살 for the counter and are usually used for children or teenagers whereas Sino-Korean numbers use 세 as the counter and are used for adults. Using Native Korean numbers to tell the age of adults is okay too but isn't seen as polite, so it's best to use the sino numbers.
Korean word "~까지"(gga ji) is similar to eng word "until" but much more closer to "Before", "~까지" is a word that you make your own standard. The standard could be lots of things such as time, number, stright line, etc... If you set a standard point in straight line, there are 2 ways. After the standard and Before the standard. So, "~까지" is the same meaning with Before the standard in here. "~부터"(bu teo) is the meaning of after(from) the standard. It's very simple. For example, "I go to work at 7 = 저는 7시까지 일하러 갑니다." with this "at 7", you usually go to work before 7, not after 7 o'clock otherwise you'll get scolded by boss when you are late :P So we use "~까지" in this phrase. But! "I will start it after(from) 7 = 저는 그것을 7시부터 할 겁니다." with this case, you will start something after 7 pass(from 7), so you should use "~부터". ~까지 (before,by,until) ___________← Standard →___________ ~부터 (after, from)
omg papaoutai was playing in the background and I started flipping out... haha.. I love your videos they're very helpful! !!
This really helps a lot!! I'm so jealous of your Taeyang jumper :( Best teacher ever!!!! Love Dani
Loving the Ikon in the background ;) ;) Ikonics, fighting!!!!
love your room!!!
I had to watch this twice because for the first 3 minutes I was jamming out to ikon lmao
Very comprehensive description. Thanks!
yay thanks for this series :D
It's been so long but I just wanted to say that the Pentatonix cover of the song, "Papaoutai" you used is amazing.
So cute :) 완전 귀여워요 !
헐...... 아놔.......ㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎ 한국어로 말하는게 넘~ 귀여버욬 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
마가리타 영상 볼 때마다 느끼는 건데 정말 목소리 예쁘고 한국어 발음이 참 좋아요.
아홉시까지 출근해요 means that I have to be at work till nine. So your literal translation was right! So why the Koreans don't say 아홉시에 출근해요? Because they want to express that they like to get there earlier but not later (even if they don't keep it always). Good luck and 화이팅!
this systeme sounds so difficult😭
thank you for you vids I been studying and I can start to read a little. hopefully I can get closer to living in Korea. am 23 I can do it. thank-you.
Actually if you want to say specifically "am" or "pm" you say 오전, which literally would mean before noon/morning, 오 is noon (午 chinese character if I am not mistaken) and 전 means before. And for pm you say 오후, which is the same 오 noon and 후 which is after so you have after noon/morning. Hope you find it useful.
That's really complicated system in Korean. You can say "한 살, 두 살, 세 살, ...", and also "일세, 이세, 삼세, ...(in writing: 1세, 2세, 3세, ...)". About money, 100원, 1000원, 43000원(백 원, 천 원, 사만삼천 원) is used to express how much the price is, but in counting bills or coins, we use 1장, 2장, 300장(한 장, 두 장, 삼백 장), and 1닢, 2닢, 300닢(한 닢, 두 닢, 삼백 닢). These rules are based on what type the counting word is: native counting word or sino counting word. But distinguising these are quite difficult to people learning Korean(because to them, Korean is a foreign language), so I think they have no choice but to memorize each case.

Oh, not only that, also there are some cases that vary meanings by native numeral system or sino numeral system: 1쪽, 2쪽, 3쪽 for example, "한 쪽, 두 쪽, 세 쪽" means "one page, two pages, three pages," but "일 쪽, 이 쪽, 삼 쪽" means "page 1, page 2, page 3." Also we use '페이지(page)' to express the latters: 일 페이지, 이 페이지, 삼 페이지(of course, if someone say "한 페이지, 두 페이지, 세 페이지," he or she means the formers).

OMGGGG PAPAOUTAI
at 5.05 - In Korean (and in other east Asian languages), 'year' comes first, then comes 'month', and 'day.' So, your birthday is 천구백구십오년 시월 십일. It's always used in that order. No exceptions. Love your work! 고생하셨어요. ㅎㅎ
Hey~ Thanks for the awesome video. I'm loving your Korean learning videos series so far. Just one question. Why is October 시월 and not 십월?
@sjg4388
8 жыл бұрын
'Cause it's hard to pronounce.
You said that 시 was o'clock, but can you also use 정각 interchangeably with it? Or when does that get used?
Ummm are you still doing your London series??
Is there a general "counter" word I can use just in case I can't remember a certain object's counter word? For example in Chinese everything does have a measure/counter word as well but there's one you can use in general which is 個 (ge) in case you ever forget, and using it will almost always be understandable. So what's the Korean counterpart for this? Also another question, if I ever mix up when using either of these number systems, I'm sure I may be laughed at, but would it still be understandable? Thank you!
@Mangorrita

Yes, there is a general counter in Korean, which is actually also 개 (ge) but it can only be used with inanimate objects so you wouldn't be able to use it with humans or animals. You can head over to the next episode where I talk about it in more details. As for your second question, you will be understood no matter what counting system you use but as you rightly mentioned, it might cause a few laughs here and there but I also feel like it wouldn't be a big deal considering how you're a foreigner learning Korean so native speakers will most probably cut you some slack or explain it at the very least :)
omg i got distracted once i heard strome in the background.. LOL
I already see the contraction, in once 한번 it's the same I notice ^^
I love you.
발음 좋네요...~
오전 아홉시 까지 = by nine a.m.아침 아홉시 까지 = by nine in the morningbut in Korean, there is no clear difference between 'until' and 'by'
euh... I'm confused 21 for age... why is it 스물한 instead of 스물하나... has this to do with the counter that follows ?
아주 재미있고 놀라워요 you are so amazing~ 출근헤요 (x) 출근해요(0) ㅎㅎㅎ

Malak Lotfy you might want to visit Talk To Me In Korean, they explain all of this through many lessons.
/just throwing random tip out there/ Korean is macro to micro so for birthdate say in order of year, month, day ^^ Another time to use sino numbers is when you're talking about # on like a test for example. Like problem #1, you count as 일번 2 is 이번 etc. Phone numbers use sino as well. That's the only other two situations I can think of at the moment ^^

yes I noticed that too. 생일은 천구백구십오년 십월 십일이에요. I think that's how her birthday would be:) (correct me if I'm wrong please)

+Anna Levesque you're right! Just 시월 instead of 십월 since we drop the ㅂ! A lot of times I hear people just say the last two digits of their birth year if they were born before 2000. (So like instead of saying I was born in 1995, you could say I was born in '95, like we do in English. That would just be 구십오년 ^^)

I have a question: you said your KOREAN age is 21 but you are 20, right? So, I was thinking, are ages different in Korea? Like I'm 15, does that mean that in Korea I'll be 16?

Yes in Korea you are 1 year older. They believe you're a year old when you're born .

yes basically koreans count how many years they have lived in for example i was born in 15/10/1999 so i am now 17 BUT if I want to find my korean age I will have to count the years I have lived in so basically I am 19 in korea (1999-2000-2001-2002-2003.......-2017 = 19 years) Did you understand ?
