Week 66 of my Journey to Scratch! - 9 Hole Vlog

Welcome to Week 66 of my Journey to Scratch! This was an interesting round of golf, where I felt my swing wasn't fully there, but I still managed myself around the course really well!

It’s part of the process and I enjoy watching them. Keep it going and I would say don’t “think” golf swing when playing golf. Just my .02 cents.

Something to think about, I'd like to see more "course management" type thoughts when playing vs. practicing. Swing analysis on course is a dangerous thing. I think you can save a few stokes when determining approach shots "long vs short and left vs right". Knowing your tendencies and where your misses go will do wonders. I'm a course management nerd and most people aren't and just go for pins. They don't generally like discussing it on course. Wish I could play with you and just nerd out all day.

I recommend walking the course for fitness and playing in competitive amateur events to test your game out. Definitely helps with lowering handicap when game is tested under pressure. I remember shooting 89 in windy, rainy conditions at a strokeplay event, wont be forgetting that painful experience for a while.

Great stuff Ernie, maybe playing to the back of the Green distances may help you with a better tempo ? Certainly helps me when I think I’m a little too quick sometimes 👍

Good round man. So much better than last year. Really seeing some good solid shots. A few got away but you handled those well. That's why we play practice rounds to find the errors that don't show up on the range. Good stuff, looking good to go sub 80. Hopefully the greens come alive soon. Cheers!

You had a lot more wins than fails in that round. Your ball flights were great. There were a very few mishits but you managed to recover well. Those might have been the worst greens ever seen on YT but you managed to putt anyway👍. I think that on a better maintained course you might have cut 2 or 3 strokes. Pretty darn good round considering.

I think these video’s are really good! You’ve gotten much better about not sitting and just talking to the camera, which is more enjoyable viewing wise. Keep up the work! Just wondering, do you ever setup the camera while you’re practicing? I don’t think you should do a full video while practicing outside of what you did a while back to show what your practice routine was. However, it would be nice to refer back if you figure something out during practice and you could watch whatever it was you did. It could also just be some B-roll for future videos.
