I have been teaching myself how to quilt (mostly wall quilts) since Covid started. I so wish I had watched your video before starting some of my projects. Doing a satin stitch on a curve is SO hard, but your video helps immensely. You are right about practicing!

Enjoy Donna :) hugssss
I’ve used freezer paper for paper piecing and a couple of times for appliqué. This will be the first time I use it for an entire project. Another great video!

you'll have to let me know what you think of it :)
These vids are very fun to watch...It's amazing how the eye is drawn to the flaw...This is turning out beautifully, lol, and all I found myself doing was focusing on B2...I can't wait to see how it fades in the quilting process. Thanks much for sharing this tutorial. Peace.

I think it's a lot more noticeable when you point the flaw out to others :) That's why I always say when showing off your quilts or other art projects not to point out the mistakes. It certainly is a fun quilt so far, I'm really enjoying the process
It’s fun watching your process. You have chosen some fun fabrics.

Thanks Robin :) This little quilt has been a lot of fun so far
Not able to work on this one, right now, so will wait till the end. However, I'm enjoying the videos immensely. I had to laugh when you pulled out the marker. I have done that, as well! Lol!

thank you so much Anita!
Hi Lisa. I was wondering about the freezer paper step. Do you need to place the pattern pieces on the straight of grain of the fabric squares? Ty.

Hey Bonnie.........I haven't followed any of those rules with this art quilt :)
Bought the paper (freezer) watching videos, hoping that I will learn something…..still haven’t mastered the joining of the binding at the end…
Hello Lisa! I am so enjoying this Puzzle Quilt. Do you have a brand of Fray Check that your prefer to use?

Hey Sharonne :) I have the Dritz Fray Check. I haven't tried any other's to compare it to, but I like this one :)
Hi Lisa another fun project. Ilike using basting spray for glueing. Would that work too? Used steam a seam on another project a really dislike the glue gumming up the machine needle. No matter how much I adjusted the heat in ironing. Thanks for sharing :-)

Hi Ellen :) That's interesting about the steam a seam! I haven't had a lot of experience with that product as my go-to has always been heatnbond. I would think the basting spray would work.....I do know that I am super messy with that stuff and I'd have it EVERYWHERE hahaha. But if it works for you and you like using it, then I say use it and see how it does :)
Hi Lisa. I sometimes have problems removing the freezer paper from the fabric. What can I be doing wrong?
@TheQuiltmakerHomestead

it sounds like maybe the glue has seeped to the edge.....try taking a sharp pin and scoring the freezer paper in the middle of the piece and tearing from the score, this usually works :)
I use micron permanent markers to hide machine embroidery flaws a lot. 😁

Micron markers work great on fabric :)
How do you keep the glue for getting on the iron?
@TheQuiltmakerHomestead
5 жыл бұрын
Hey Bernadette :) The way I'm doing it, you may get a little bit of glue on the iron. You could always cover your piece before you press with a scrap piece of fabric keeping your iron nice and clean :)
Are you using black in your bobbin as well

Yep :)
Lisa, can you do a video on your new sewing machine, Juki F600? I am interested in purchasing one and would love to hear your opinion on it. If you can't do a full video on it, can you please tell me the pros and cons that you have discovered while owning it? Thanks so much. Kathryn

Hi Kathryn :) I wrote your request down so I won't forget it as this week is hectic but should be able to get to a video about my machine by early next week. I've only had the machine since maybe 2 weeks before Christmas but definitely have some things I love about it....and some things I'm still getting used to :)

It would almost be better to do the satin stitch after all the pieces are glued on.
i'm not a fan of the glue stick i'll stick to the wet glue...

My favorite is the wet glue......for sure :)
