He oozed personality, he had the underdog factor of someone who looked like he shouldn't be able to dance at all yet somehow could, and made a lovely pairing with Ola. That's why he won.

I watched a documentary and he said the part at the end when him and Ola were on the floor was just something they added at the end of training when Ola was exhausted after trying to teach him steps all day. They came up with it and thought, "that'll do." It became one of the most iconic routines in strictly history. He also admitted he was the worst winner of strictly ever 😂

How can anyone dislike this? It's a totally joy-giving experience watching this and that's what dance should be. He has no inhibitions, he would do absolutely anything to create a fab performance and good on him!

this is what dance is .... not technical steps to learn and master.... just feel the music in each and every bone of your body and let go .... BRILLIANT!!!

Agreed. I thought Ricky was by far the better dancer... but I thought Chris was the better entertainer, so I voted for him. Also, this Charleston was amazing and really put a smile on my face. I remember in the days afterwards, Hollins said to his Breakfast colleagues that before he did it, taxi drivers would talk to him about Arsenal's centre-forward problem, but afterwards they'd said "Cor, your Charleston, mate - really cheered me up!" :)

I just can't stop watching this. It is SO brilliant. So it may not be as technically refined as Ricky or Ali - sorry, but I don't care. Chris' showmanship blows them both out of the water. Go Team Cola! YEAH BABY!!!

It was the dance of the series, and this show in particular highlighted the blatant favouritism shown to Ali and Brian! So glad the dancing hobbits won it :o)

I remember being very impressed with this when I first saw it and, whilst it is still good, in comparison to the brilliant charlestons we've seen on Strictly since it isn't actually all that special.

+wendy kelly It was a very odd year. Chris really wasn't great but he was the only one with any personality so the public, including myself, rallied behind him. All of the series since have been of a much better standard.

YEAH BABY!! ;) This was better than Ali and Brian's so I have no idea why they scored what they did. Olachops seems more herself this year, she's great! I know Alesha has said she's jealous she never got to do it, I think she should do it as a special performance in the final!

Glad I found this, because the other version I've saved keeps "freezing." What a great effort..yep, as with many Ricky was miles ahead, but, in the end at least there was a bit of a fight and these two came out fighting. Ola's a pretty tough coach and I think she more than got the best out of Chris. For me, they were a smashing pairing!

Chris has been above Ricky for a few weeks. He is the only person in the entire series to never be in the dance-off before. Y'know what, I think he's gonna win this.

You could see it in their faces as soon as their names were announced, I think. There was obvious relief, but they definitely didn't look as elated as they had done in past weeks. Still, when it comes to the final, my *head* says I should vote for Ricky & Natalie (this *is* a dance competition, after all, and Ricky is on many levels a better dancer than Chris), but my *heart* says I should vote for Team Cola. Good thing I tend not to listen to my head, then, isn't it? :)

Exactly - I'd rather watch a flawed dance that made me smile or laugh, than a technical masterpiece that bored me half to death - if it's fun then, as far as I'm concerned, it's succeeded. Which is exactly why I want Team Cola to beat Ricky & Natalie on Saturday. Yeah baby! :)

Yup. I think the fact that Team Cola has a lot more of a natural "loveability factor" than Ali/Brian or Ricky/Natalie will help them a great deal. I mean, it saved them from going into the dance-off last Saturday, and put Ricky there instead - even though Ricky had the highest score of the night! I really hope Chris lifts that trophy...

Chris has massive public support, it would seem (he's never been in a dance-off, remember), so we'll have to see whether that support translates into victory. I'd better vote twenty times just to make sure :P

Chris did really well in this dance, he's not my favourite, in fact I didn't like his dancing up until tonight, well done Chris, slightly undermarked along with Laila and Anton this week (GRRR judges) but job well done :)

Again, Chris and Lelia were the best, but again the judges have to make sure their princess ali gets through, so gave her top marks for the weakist charleston

That's what I fear. He is good, but even for a contestant, that may not be a good thing.
