Rayen read my mind. I was thinking Wonderland almost the whole time you were talking about remakes. I’d watch the hell out of that. What I’d really love to see is a culmination of his previous films. Maybe Clarence and Alabama’s kid, Elvis, is included. And how great would it be to finally find out what was in the briefcase?

QT never said he would stop making things. He just said he’d stop making films. He might write a bunch more scripts that get directed by other directors. He might write and direct a cartoon or animated film, or a series. Kill bill vol 3 could be a series.

Yeah, that’s a great point. When I hear the term ‘last film’ I envision him sitting on the sofa with a bag of chips and a beer. Yeah, surely he’ll continue writing and doing other creative projects. ✌️✌️✌️

Tarantino said in an interview with Tom Segura that he has already written a script for eight episodes of a tv show but hasn't sold it yet. So he may only do 10 movies but it doesn't sound like he is going to stop writing and directing entirely.

Yeah, having him do a full season of Bounty Law would be great

Have him do a remake of The Warriors. He has tried to do a comedy. He directed a segment in Four Rooms and that is a comedy. Not a great one but still one none the less.

Keeping with the L.A. theme, I would love to see him write a script about the bloods and the crips and the Rodney King riots or a crime noir during the zoot suite riots.

If you dont understand why he wants to stop at 10, then you dont understand tarantino. he wants 10 mastrerpieces. not 10 masterpieces and 5 meh movies, and 3 dog shit movies. 10 masterpieces while he still got it, then call it a day. Die a hero, instead of becoming a villain. I mean look at scorcese. his last movie to get great recognition was the wolf of wallstreet. ( and i dont like it but i cant deny that its huge) everything after that has been a bunch average at best movies, and some straight dogshit Ehm (irishman) and most great directors have been the same. spielberg is the only exception, but he has had some misses in recent years.

Yeah, I absolutely understand an artist wanting masterpieces, but why 10 specifically? Why not 20 masterpieces, or at least 12 masterpieces?

@@Bradybrandwood I would imagine that... 1) it's a nice round figure 2) I mean, 8,9, 11, and 12 don't have a good ring to them. 7 or less is too few, 13 and up, and you're getting into "sloppy work" territory. 3) 10 movies, averaging 3 years apart, that's a 30 year career, so he can retire or semi-retire comfortably in his 60s like most americans his age dreamed. 4) he said he took a break after pulp fiction to enjoy his new life. So this is someone who also cares about enjoying his life, not letting his work consume him and not working for the money 5) he probably cares a lot about his legacy, and wants to retire before he gets to an age where he can't create at a top level. It is a known thing that an artist's mind tends to degrade as they get into old age and their creativity diminishes. 6) "10 movies" is great marketing. It also subconsciously makes people appreciate his work more, it creates a feeling of not wanting to miss out on them. Like, can you tell me the total number of movies that other great directors have? who has a clue, really?. Of course you can quickly pull up their imdb, but who really keeps track. With tarantino, most fans can tell you each movie, and even tell you the order. And when every new movie comes out, you make an effort to go watch it. 7) i think we are already seeing some diminishing returns on tarantino's work. If you compare inglorious basterds and django unchained to the hateful 8 and once upon a time in hollywood, theyre on a whole different level. I think hateful 8 and once upon a time, are some of his more bland work. (I do love once upon a time, but cant pinpoint what makes it great) 8) semi-retiring and working on side projects takes a lot of pressure off of him at an age where it becomes increasingly harder to meet his fan's expectations.

I would be glad with wrapping up the 9 masterpieces we got, instead of risking a 10th (or more) that could be smudge an absolute perfect legacy by design - which is unheard of in the history of cinema. A lot of things can go wrong: successful people do get old, get too full of themselves, too confortable, too cynic, or, God forbid, makes as superhero movie. There's no such thing as too much money.
