Mosquito abatement is very easy. 1 part "real" lavender oil, 6-8 parts water (depending how bad) in a small spritzer bottle. No chemicals, no bad smell and quick touchups when needed. Plus no residue that attracts dirt! If your in a grove of Aspen's, rub the powder from the tree on you😊👍

That really is a great van. One of the best I've seen. I've never lived in a pop-top, and lean towards thinking that the pop-top might be the weak link of this kind of design - so it was very interesting to hear your impressions of the pop-top's utility as you gained more experience using it.

If you get to yosemite early enough ,say 1955 ,you will definitely get a camp site . Seriously ,it was even crowded back then , but there were less campsites which translates into less people in the valley overall. When i went to yosemite in the 1990s i went straight for the higher campsites as they were almost always free . I had spent enough time in the valley as a young boy , so i didn’t need to keep going back there to see all the wonders.

Thanks for your posting. The last scene in this video is the very spot I took a photo in 2013 when I first began my photography journey; the photo one of many that are now hanging on my walls (and other peoples walls as well). Like you I arrived early for an available camping site. I'm chopping on the bit to get back out west for some more photo ops at some of the places I missed.

So glad to see you're enjoying life because that's all that really counts. Once more I'd like to know on your "adventures" what the related cost are i.e., the cost to enter the National Park? If you choose not to stand in line for a "non-paid" campground space how much would you have to pay for your rig? I also noticed that in the campground the trees were dense blocking much of the natural sunlight need to charge you solar panels. Vital information like the questions I raised would be priceless to help others make a more informed decision based on your practical experiences. Thank you for caring and sharing.

you just had the revelation that putting the top down would bring better insulation?? that would be my first thought when installing a pop up tent.

Come back to Colorado. I heard a mosquito once, back in '01, I think. Not sure. Could have been a miniature buzzard.

I’m curious what week of Aug you were In Yosemite. Summer is so crowded there, you must have timed it right. Nice video!

Great campsite to Show-Case the big Green Machine! A very nice location for people looking for trails with a view. But I do have a request. Can you make your next video longer. Maybe 20 minutes or so. Once again thanks for sharing....

Well Dale, on avg it probably takes us about an hour to edit a minutes worth of video...so those longer videos are almost double the work. That said, since you asked, we'll see what we can do. I don't know if we have 20 min worth of content for next week's but I'll try.

We're the Russos / thanks for the update/ how about doing a van life safety video. Go over the things that make for safe camping in a unknown environment. What equipment to carry, and what to pack in a first aid kit that is focussing on Remote camping. Want kind of medication (non-prescription) should you keep at hand. And lastly what road side repair kit should you take with you. Hope there’s something here that you can incorporate.

Joe, maybe 15 minutes then. Would have loved to see more of the hike, and more of the campground. Do you guys ever build fires to sit by at night?

Dale, as to non-prescription drugs to take along, I'd definitely include Benadryl (generic substitute) and either Ibuprofen or your favorite equivalent painkiller. Some cortisone cream would also be helpful. I generally also pack a generic equivalent to Immodium; better safe than sorry.
