    Looks cool. Last year, we saw a couple from Germany that had a 4WD overlanding vehicle with HUGE tires that looked like they could traverse anything. They shipped it from Germany to South America and were driving their way up to Alaska. It literally looked like a high end tank! Lotto dreams.

    It's funny some of the comments. What I don't think they understand is just how custom built this is!! I mean the ability to get an all wheel drive camper van into places that usually only Jeeps can go!! That's a big deal 🌟 and there's a lot of overhead probably and money put in to getting all those special parts made in the USA. That being said, I am curious to know if the pop top could support solar panels and an AC system? Looks nice and roomy. Great idea to put commonly used items together for storage. I do that at home too. So much easier to cook and simple clean up. Can't wait to see more of your videos of this rig.

  • @Weretherussos

    @Weretherussos

    Yes it can support up to 150lbs. AC is an option, they just didn’t add it to this one.

    Everyone is complaining about the price but Sportsmobile will add the pop-top to most any newer van Check out their website, it's affordable. They had to do a lot of customizing on the chassis when Ford stopped making the Econoline. You can get the 4x4 Sprinter and add the pop-top and use a WayFarer interior system. It doesn't have to be tricked out like this.

    @@braddowns17 I would still want one if I got a Sprinter because my honey is 6'8" and it gives the extra loft area for the extra bed so grand kids could go on weekend adventures. I'm looking at the Metris or Ford Transit Connect. With the Pop top on one of those I'm almost at 8" of head room. If you're a shorter person the pop top is most likely not needed as you said.

    Oh, I like this van!! Have been looking for a van or bus for several years. I have an old classic E-150. And I have a 4x4 truck. They are both okay but I don’t buy vehicles and change my mind (unless they are faulty, and then I want a replacement of the same type). Once I find what I want, I drive them several hundred thousand miles. The van has only 160k but I bought it used a year ago. I knew when I bought it that I wouldn’t keep it but it is a conversion van with a wheelchair lift that I needed that week and I got it cheap. The truck was what Husband wanted 15 years ago and loved it. Well, in a way he still does but I am the driver and not even remotely interested in jumping up and out at 0500 after a big storm to put the truck through its paces on ice under snow. So it’s no fun, anymore. It was my intent to get a bigger truck to carry a bigger camper when the time came and we turned in our beepers and office keys. Then the wheelchair came. I don’t want a big class A like the rest of the family drives to and from Florida each year, parking in the same space in the same RV Park in the same town every year. Occasionally going to a campground near their home if they get restless. Nope, no thanks. Drove in-laws back and forth for several years and understand their limitations, which are many. But every van is set up to make it hard for him to get in and out. And they are limited like the one I’ve got so why bother spending more money on the same? I saw the articulation the axles in the stock photos going over the boulders. Positraction squared! He can get in and out easy. So can I. He can turn his chair around in the passenger seat space. He can get to the bed. And the side door opens enough to accommodate the #*!& wheelchair lift. I have found my van! Enough about me. Carry on and I will contain my enthusiasm. 😁

    I can,t wait for some of the Australian off-road trailers to come to the USA. Vans are cool and all, but in my opinion a trailer is more practical for a family to use for weekend use. You can use a truck or suv for daily driving and tow the trailer on the weekend, set up a basecamp with the trailer and explore in the truck or suv with the family. These are super cool though.

    For me, a pop top camper and 3/4 ton 4x4 (probably used) is better value. I used to have a Taco and it would go a lot of places. You get old and those trails start to beat you up, but I'm glad i did it. I didn't find the really rough trails necessarily led to great places. Mosquitoes have incredible off road capabilities. I know I don't need the drivetrain, but it's great people do that stuff. Great guy!

    Do you own a camper/RV or just borrow? I've watched a few of your videos, seems like you borrow them for review, is there a set period?. $185,000 seems way too steep for a 4x4 van, Atlas t-case is nice but they are adaptable in a number of vehicles. I feel you could deck out a new Jeep Gladiator Rubicon with a pop top for way less. Not taking it 4 wheeling??

    It looks like top notch everything all the way, but I don't need that much off road capability, and I do need a metal high top and a bathroom. Also, I don't need a V10 that gets 2 mpg... it's impressive, but it's all wrong. For someone who it is all perfect/right for, it's no doubt killer. If you have the blunt.

    Wow, my husband is not impressed with me being interested in RV Campers. Well, I showed him this one and he was pretty impressed with the vehicle and its potential. The only down thing; for $185,000 and there is no air? That is the only big negative. It will be interesting to watch your adventure in this van.

    Well AC is an option with this and keep in mind it’s 185 with all of the bumpers, giant wheels etc. I think the light bar alone on it is a few thousand. These start around 160

    Yup, the cost is extremely high. My plan is to pick up a low-mileage LWB Chevy Express for about $20k, and doing the interior myself. All I need, fridge, shower, marine toilet, solar etc about $20k. Total=$40k.

    $40k +. Guaranteed you'll go over budget as everyone always underestimates how much stuff costs, and you have to provide your labour, which may be free, but only if you value your time at zero dollars. If you do, you can come and help build my RV and I will pay you zero dollars. Otherwise you need to add in your labour cost, which could be $20 to $100 per hr or more, depending on your skill set.

    Dear OMG..... I enjoy working on stuff. I built a house entirely by myself (did have help pouring 14 yards of concrete lol) so I'm fully capable of doing anything and everything. I am paying muself by doing the work myself. Your snarky attitude is unbecoming, but I understand those who can't, love to whine about those who can.
