This song was originally done by Gladys Night and the Pips. Has a faster tempo and some more call and response to it. Excellent version. Then Marvin Gaye's version so soulful and probably the most well known version. And then CCR. Your reaction was spot on. The band made it their own. This video you reacted to is a cut version of what was on the album. The full cut goes into this John Fogerty guitar jam that takes you to a whole new place and then comes back to the song. Do yourself a favor and listen to that version. All versions are great though.

I was a huge fan of CCR when all this music first came out, and giving it a relisten on various reaction channels I have come to a whole new appreciation of their musicianship. I guess my young ears could appreciate the music, but were not yet sophisticated enough to appreciate each musician's contribution to the sound. Stu Cook was killing it on bass, and coupled with Doug Clifford's drumming, they made for a very solid rhythm section. John Fogerty was one of the most memorable and easily recognized rock and roll front men at the time, and one of the most talented. He's also still out there doing it, and still sounds great. CCR was my first favorite band, and my first album was "Cosmo's Factory", which I still own, and from which this single was released. Thanks for the memories, y'all.

I've loved that song since I first heard it, and this was the first version I knew. Marvin Gaye's song is fantastic in either case. I really like the heavy bass line in CCR's rendition.

This is one of the few songs that I love three versions of the same song. I love Gladys Knight and the Pips version, Marvin Gaye's great version, and also love CCR'S version with the great bass line. Wow. What a song. 🔥😉👍

I wouldn't say this is better than Marvin Gaye's version. But to me it is every bit as good, I can't pick one over the other. Equally great in my opinion! Love the reaction! By the way, the lead singer is John Fogarty.

They really got into this one and the recording is as good as it gets . Way back the way I heard this in 1970 was on the radio during summer vacation off of school, high school, before I bought my first stereo turntable, and nice receiver I saved up for. Was blown away by this song they rarely played on radio stations as it was a long song. As soon as they started played it, I was jamming on it

John Fogerty - Lead singer, songwriter, lead guitar. He WAS CCR. A true genius. He still sings and tours today. CCR was my fav rock group. Distinctive sound.
