For a bunch of guys from California, they way they embodied Swamp Funk is nothing short of masterful. You always feel like you're sitting in the shade, 100 degrees out, and more humidity than a wet sponge.

He just recently passed away. And his sons and grandsons are listening to the music. Which will be passed on from generation to generation

I wish I could go back in time and listen to CCR for the first time ever. The look on Shawn and Mel’s face is how I looked as a teenager when my dad first played the CCR catalog for his kids…. Pure ‘effing joy.
My grandma introduced me to CCR at Christmas of 69 with their 1st album. They are in my top 5 all time great bands. Thanks grandma!🥰

It was my great aunt for me. She gave us Cosmo's Factory, and it changed my life. I bought a guitar just like John's and started learning all of his songs. To this day whatever band I'm in is required to play Born on the Bayou.

I seen John Forgerty do a live concert [ on tour ] in Canada around four five years ago . His show lasted 2hrs and 20 minutes . He was singing and playing for 95 % of that time . His stamina was unreal . His songs sounded exactly like how they where recorded but with bigger sound . MY ! MY MY! what a show.

I confirm, I was born on the Louisiana bayou. Spent my childhood catching turtles and fish in the bayou.
No doubt their best signature song, IMHO. The tempo and time signature made for easy dancing, even amongst the most awkward of us teens back in the day....
When CCR showed up they gave everybody a music lesson in Rock n Roll
One of CCR's unheralded songs is the killer track "Commotion" -- which is on the B-side of the "Bad Moon Rising" 45.
I don’t care who you are, or what kind of music you like, CCR just seems to grab your soul…!
LA is one of the five states I’ve never been to (Bama and MS are two of the others) but this is exactly what I imagine the bayou life sounds like. Mid tempo, half Cajun half blues, with vocals that sound like howlin wolf coming up out of a swamp. Other than the extended version of Susie Q, I think this is peak CCR.

I am 65, & CCR is my favorite group of all time! One song that I don't think anybody has ever reacted to is, "Bootleg, Bootleg". Very underrated song!
No doubt they've got Louisiana in their hearts. El Cerrito is in Contra Costa County, which to the East extends to the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta in Northern California, parts of which can be very swampy -- in a few places the people who still live there reside in houses built on stilts and the like. Every year various communities across the larger region even host shrimp and crawdad festivals as well. And the City of Lodi is located at the western end of the delta. Fogerty wrote his proto-country rock classic, "Lodi", about a singer who is forced to make the best of getting stuck there. In reality it's a really nice place, but maybe too slow paced a place for bored teenagers.
GREAT SONG!! ❤️🎶 So much fun to see you two grooving to the music!!
Glad you both became big fans of theirs. I've been since 68 still my favorite band ever. This was one of their best!!!!
Shawn & Mel, Great reaction!! thanks for doing my May 29 suggestion!!! Its so nice to get a longer CCR song, ain't it? edit- The sound was working for me.
I’m a huge fan of CCR. John Fogerty the lead singer had an amazing solo career too. “Rock and Roll Girls” and “CenterField” off the Centerfield LP. Are must listen to’s…. For fans of CCR…. ✌️😎

You guys are so much fun to watch. My fav reactors. You've got great taste in music! Not sure if you've done their cover of Midnight Special but it's good!
I was dancin to CCW at junior high dances on Friday nights in 1970 and 1971. It was memorable.
"Long As I Can See the Light" is a great one too. ❤️
Yall are amazing ya know I have been a drummer since I was 8 'm now 55 I play everything from LL Cool J to CCR it's so nice to see a buncha cool people with honest opinion's
One of the greatest rock tunes ever recorded.
My favorite CCR song
Awwww yeah heard CCR growing up can't beat it
CCR. No substitute.
It was in the early '70s. I was in my early '20's' A few of us went to this "party house", in the hood. The women were plenty. The guys were cool. Just a hip set. Most of us passed out. So, around 3 am somebody put this tune on. Now, I don't know about others, but I'm like "DANM!!!!!!!!!!"
My favorite song by them and there’s lots!!
Growing up in the 60's & 70's in Canada we LOVED & still love CCR. I have their cds in my car & listen to them mostly above anyone else to this day ❤❤❤
My favorite CCR jam! There's a you tube video out there of a CCR concert with Booker T. and The MGs opening for them playing TIME IS TIGHT (circa 1970). John Fogerty and band are watching from backstage grinning in total awe of Booker T. Jones, Steve Cropper, Donald 'Duck' Dunn and Al Jackson (the MGs) - you need to see the group that helped define the Memphis Soul sound in the early '60s.
Man, that song takes me to the bayou everytime and I've never been to the south. "Lord, Lord"!
OMG, love the energy you have 😆 you're on a great run with great songs.all love ❤️ thanks 👍
You guys need to react to "Someday Never Comes." It is one of my favorite CCR songs!
CCR sounds like they should've been on Stax Records playing with Booker T, Steve Cropper, Donald Duck Dunn and Al Jackson....they had that gumbo!

I think we all know that sometimes Reactors have to put on a little bit of a show - you cannot like every song recommended to you, but when the connection is real, its obvious. I guarantee that Shawn has loaded up some playlist, somewhere, with CCR and it is in heavy rotation.
"Chooglin'" and "As long as I can see the light" are a couple more great CCR songs.
You two are just so cute together ♡ Thanks for the wonderful vids!
My son has a brain injury and what I've read about music and lost memories has me stoked. It can actually BRING BACK MEMORIES
Baby this is pure Louisiana music. 80 years and spent my life on the Bayou's there. Both of my grandparents on both sides spoke fluent Cajun. Mais yeah! Ca ce some swamp music, Chere.
CCR ...one of a kind sound...raw, sassy and real as it gets
No better living than on the bayou!!! Love it and have some good deep roots 😉🥰
CLASSIC🔥
My favorite CCR song.
Thanks, kids! such an awesome song... lol such a sound.... especially for a bunch of California guys.. , also referred to as and , was an American rock band formed in El Cerrito, California.
a lot of beer and whisky consumed back in the day while this was playing in the background, fun times. RIP , my brother Troy Guilbeaux , i miss you.
Love, love, love CCR 🤣 have all the albums that I have grooved to for 50 years !! Nothin like a CCR party!!!😻☮️🇨🇦 Even those baby alligators were swimming in tune to CCR’s bad music 🥰💎💜 Now Shawn & Mel seem like you are Louisiana folk, the way you faces lit up when the music began
One of many great songs from CCR!
My favorite CCR song!!!
This is the only band that my grandfather, mom, myself, sister and niece all like. Every generation!
This music is built for GOOD TIMES!!!! It’s a roadhouse, juke joint jam
Every fourth of July I play ccr. All their hits, to me are so patriotic and American
"Put a candle in the window" and "centerfield" are absolutely classics you need to check out!❤
YES!! Plz keep going down this rabbit hole with CCR!!!
Smash song in the discos at 60/70ies from CCR- thanks "Shawn and Mel" from Germany for the good music all time! 💑
They brought acid culture back down to earth. Love to see you hearing it,
CCR always had the beat & the rhythm that hit right to my soul.
CCR was and still is one of my all time favorite bands as a kid and now at 58. So much great music came from them. They played at Woodstock but went on quite early in the morning and you don't see much footage of them. Anyway you want to hear a good longer tune with some harmonica in it... Check out Graveyard Train... It for me anyway is a close your eyes type tune being laid back absorbing the vibes... Check it out you should dig it...✌️
Such a cute sweet fun couple. Such a pleasure to watch:) That being said here I am at 51. I should know this band better but because of you guyz Im discovering songs from this band I either never heard or heard but a long time ago when my music preferences were different. Since I found you guys last week CCR has become my favorite band. Keep up the good work!:):)
Another song that mentions living on the bayou is "Amos Moses" by the late Jerry Reed.
The very best Band ever Love Them❤❤
YES!! You guys absolutely rock!!!
This song takes you to another time and place

❤🔥How about Down On the Corner?! Or Up Around the Bend?! Those are my votes for up next from CCR👍💚✌
My mum and dad introduced me to CCR when I was about 8/9 that sound has always been with me.60 now love the band
It's the record the stage crew played at Woodstock when the rain finally stopped on Saturday afternoon. Thousands of hippies started grooving in the mud!
Just cannot go wrong with CCR! Love your reactions.
Real music, not fabricated in a studio. Saw them 5 times back in the 60's when they were just getting it going in Cali. They invented this sound, and found their own niche in the music world back then. They can do lot's of other styles too, but it's instant recognition that it's them when hearing a different style. They should always be heavy on your playlist.
It'd be hard to find a band with SO MANY good songs, which also just so happened to be big hits in the day. Those of us who've been listening since the 70's are reminded, and regret taking them for granted. They've just always BEEN there, like the Eagles, or something. CCR rocks!
Top five all time rock&roll song right there!!! Love that tune!
I grew up to CCR. I may be #hangovergang but I always love me some dirty swamp water soul music. ✌🏽
ROCK it guys. I grew up on CCR - there was no better group out there when I was coming up!! My wife bought us tickets a few years ago to a Fogarty concert FRONT row. Had to wear ear plugs but our ears were still ringing for hours afterwards!!!
Thanks for not stopping it in the middle of the song, like so many do.
1969 God Blessed me with CCR….Then he blessed me with orders for Nam, I’m still rockin to CCR
Classic never gets old just much better.
Love Ccr John Fogerty is a living legend so awesome 💖💕
"I'm just a chooglin' on down to New Orlean’" According to Fogerty, chooglin' - never, ever "choogling" - is what happens when "you got to ball and have a good time."
A great CCR song. Thanks.
Great reaction!!! That's my favorite CCR song!!!
