I can remember a day when I started trucking, I would’ve backed in 20ft from the dock and started breaking down pallets, and throwing the boxes in front of the door. You ordered a delivery, here it is, you can receive it the easy way, or the hard way. But you’re gonna receive it TODAY!

Two main rules with a reefer ... always, always, always fill up the reefer fuel tank at every fuel stop, and adjust your rear-view so you can easily see the lights on the reefer unit, and watch it like a hawk. That being said, this is a typical day in the reefer world. The worst receivers, the worst brokers, and every single load will cost you something ... between time, lumpers, and "shortages" it will always cost you something. Now you know why a lot of us told you to avoid reefer like the plague 😂

@Rob Moilanen I don't believe that I shat on reefer drivers at all. I happen to be one of them. I'm simply pointing out the hypocrisy of the grocery industry. If I walked into a receiver with a note stating my charges after two hours, they would be dumbfounded.

I started running reefer in the late 70’s. For a couple years I didn’t exactly get rich. Then in the early 80’s, I knew a guy, that knew a guy at a major chemical manufacturer. All the sudden I had great paying loads, and more work than I could handle. It was a good hit to say the least, and carried me well into the 90’s.

He would also be handy with his credit card for fuel. This is a kind gesture, but it is not a charity event. Does your insurance cover this event in case of misfortune? Until we as Drivers Brothers in this industry OUR industry shut these trucks down completely all across the board no one will care and give us the pay and respect that we deserve and demand! That's the only way to get their attention. We are needed no matter what. We go to the railyards shipyards and airports. NOTHING CAN BE DONE WITHOUT A TRUCK DRIVER AND A TRUCK PERIOD! MY BROTHERS A D SISTERS IT IS TIME THAT WE COME TOGETHER AND GET THE PAY AND RESPECT THAT WE DESERVE!!

I feel for Dave, and he’s blessed to have a good guy like you to help him. I understand these receivers, but how about the shippers and truckers start charging them a straight $500 simply for being late on top of the detention. And then give them a “it’s to hold them accountable” reasoning?

GOD BLESS you Justin and the family.... God is using you to bless others.... After pulling Refer for years, trying to sleep was next to Impossible you get used to the roar of that engine all night long and you can't sleep. I actually had to go make a recording of that sound and play it to fall asleep everyday.

You did more than enough to help the driver out Justin, but these shippers and receivers really don’t care about the drivers situation sad to say, this was a good teaching/ realistic situation that could happen to anybody.

McClane is especially the worst and not caring about what caused it to be late and miss your appointment time. And some of their facilities are a pain in the rear to maneuver in, I really hate going to deliver to them even if I’m on time

I don't think an oil change would've prevented that but your right on the mains rods and barrens had he changed those out earlier it not guaranteed but lessend the chances of it happening I love older pre emissions engines you can run those a million plus before you have to work on them

Your not that old, but your an old school trucker. Back in the day, truckers didn't leave other truckers in a bind, IF they can help. I know there are still some old school truckers out there, but it great to actually see (another) one. I hope everything you want to accomplish get accomplished 10 fold.

I delivered a reefer load in greater Atlanta weekly. 9 doors but one had a curved blindside single lane, curbs both sides which nobody could get into. Waited in a line of trucks until it was my turn. Bills in hand, what’s wrong with door #9?? Response was,, if you can get into it, we will unload you immediately. So be it, unloaded and was my door weekly, never again waited line, loved it.

See what I mean and what I'm saying we the drivers pay for everyone else's mistakes and people not doing their job. Won't pick up the phone and communicate. The driver the most important person in the equation is the last to know or never knows!!
