    Good buy. Consider put rubber mat between canopy and tray. Less noise due to canopy vibration, prevents rubbing wear and allows moisture to evaporate/dry out.

    Dunn and Watson is the place to go for gas struts and door locks. They have a video on how to work the exact power and length you'll need for your struts. Highly recommended

    if you have the gear, make a battery box for under the tray behind the cab, keeps the weight down low and centred, and more room in the canopy

    Effen beauty! There are online guides for calculating the struts you need - I bet even one of those Bunnings struts would work. Here is an example link: www.strutswest.com.au/how-to-calculate-the-gas-strut-length-and-force-required/ The force required relates to the weight of the panel AND the distance from the hinge line and the open angle. Further out along the panel, less force. The angle rand lower mounting point are determined by the fully extended length of the strut. Your phone calculator can handle the maths.

    Old mate needs to calm down, no need to speak like that without knowing the situation. Rule #1 of radio communication is if you haven't had positive confirmation the message has been received, you assume it has not. He is just showing he's ignorance of proper communication protocol by getting knickers in a knot.
