If you learned just one small thing then the least you do is hit the thumbs up . It is very difficult to make a income on U tube so all that time and energy to teach and inspire is worth at the very least a thank you .

For years I’ve been applying a Top Coat (of any kind..(i.e. Dixie Belle, Fusion, Polyvine) then I do AS black wax. Applying the top coat allows me to remove, blend, smear dark wax as well using ultra fine steel wool. So my question is: If I apply Fusion Top Coat first, will Fusion’s Ageing Wax remove and/or blend easier? Without having to spend extra for Fusion’s Clear Wax? Thank you for your videos!

Did you prefer using the Fusion wax vs Annie Sloan? I have heard that the two are very much different. What kind of a sheen does it leave? Just looking for a nice protective coat over Fusion paint on a dresser but not doing any kind of a dark wax/aged effect, just trying to protect it from a lot of wear and tear. Love your video's and how you take the time to teach us techniques. Thank you!!!

I prefer the fusion wax. It’s a little thinner/softer to work with. It doesn’t have a sting smell either like Annie does. Thank you so much and thank you for watching

It really came out beautiful and seamless. I would like to know if you waxed the top as well. Is that sufficient of a topcoat for a dresser top? Thanks for all your videos; they're always explained so clearly.

Thank you! Yes I did the whole piece - I show in the final pics 😀 With Fusion it has a 100% acrylic resin topcoat built in - so it doesn’t require additional topcoat - but to answer your question - yes wax applied right is a good top coat as well. Thank you for watching!

What paint do you suggest for kitchen cabinets? I saw you used chalk, but what would you use today?

Yes today I would use either Fusion Mineral Paint, General Finishes (Milk Paint, Enduro Line or their Brushable White Enamel - all great products) or Wise Owl 1 Hour Enamel!

How did you do the top? Did you wax it? I have a piece I did in putty but I've got my top coat already on, wonder if I could do that Now?

I did the top exactly the same I mentioned in the video I waxed the whole piece - (you might have missed it) 😀 I also final reveal all the pics of the finished piece so you can see also. You can wax on top of topcoat it may take more layers to achieve a dark look.

How long does it take to dry or cure so I can sell it?

  • @BorninaBarnBoutique

Full cure time is just like paint 30 days, but pieces can be moved and used lightly within 48 hours. I layer just tell my customers that and to use with caution during that time.

How do you clean your wax brushes? I assuming that needs to be done when finished with a project.
