Water Powered Air Compressor

Ғылым және технология

In this video, I will show you how to make a Water Powered Air Compressor.
So, for the start, you need a tank with 2 connectors, one for incoming water and one for outgoing compressed air. and obviously, everything needs to be air-tight.
So I picked one of these water containers as the tank. But because the cap is not air-tight I had to replace it. And if you had seen my previous videos you already know it.
And yes it’s the same tank I used for the oil extractor project so I reused some of the footage from that project. Since it is going to be an air tank I decided to add a pressure gauge on top of the cap, so I can easily read the tank’s pressure.
So this is how it works. you connect an air-tight tank to a water hose and open up the water tap.
Depends on your water pressure, some water will get into the tank, which is enclosed and had no other open holes, the rest would be compressed air with pressure almost equal to the water which comes out of the tap. I know, at first, it doesn't sound like anything serious, but I’ve managed to get up to 30 PSI of air pressure with this technique using just the city water

ok, it's creative, i'll give you that, i wouldn't call this an air compressor lol.... if you are lucky you'll get 10 psi

Thanks man, I've managed to get 30 PSI in the air tank, I would say if you empty the water in the tank 2 or 3 times, and start over, you can get something acceptable. Your water pressure is the most important factor though.

@@KayvanCrafted i know i was just watching it for fun, don't need it as a tool, have an air compressor i built out of an ac compressor, it's small but it works, i am about to start working on a bigger one made out of 2 propane tanks, and i am planing to put up a video of that build when it's ready.

@@KayvanCrafted clever build. small fyi; without filter the compressed air will contain high amount of water vapor which can be unwanted and even dangerous for many uses. if the air will change temperature; increase the water vapor volume can expand, maybe explode something, if it gets much colder, the water vapor volume can decrease and maybe implode something.
