    @@coryclark66 He uses a lathe at around 4.30, though I suspect you are trying to be smart by suggesting that he didn't use a lathe to make the steam wand section. However, imo, the milk steamer is the whole device. It is not a steam wand without a stream source. 👍

While I have no issue with this attitude or approach, per se, it is none of those things. If he'd called it "make a cool steam wand* I'd would have said nothing. 👍 *Requires lathe

    That statement could be used on almost any DIY project. When you DIY something, you're usually giving up time and effort in order to save money (though not all the time), learn and enjoy the experience. A lot of people like it.

    @@Zack-lq9tb If the valve is kept closed the build up of pressure inside the boiler would probably make it explode or if not it would most probably become very dangerous, that's why pressure cookers have a lot of safety measures and the ones that are commercialy made don't let you close the steam pipe. Boiling water in a closed container that can't let the steam out is a big no no, because the pressure WILL make the container let the steam out, just not in a safe or controlled way.

    @@kirowashere9661 0:58 of the video. That brass hex-shaped piece on the base is the pressure release valve, that is standard on all Moka Pots. Unaffected by this mod of the top section. Though, at least an explosion would prevent you from a possible slow poisoning of yourself from the rest of the components......

    @@wingnutbert9685 The only wrong component is the solder, who some say it may be lead tin. And even then, I don't see it being that solder.

    @@irrespondible Yes, it's could be lead-free solder. However, the manufacturing of the lead-free solder as well as the other brass and rubber components may very well not be food grade or safe due to their material make up. :)

    I'm not too good in DIY and plumbing BUT has steam build up in the chamber doesn't that create something dangerous if you don't have a safety valve.

    All of that work for nothing, all you needed to do was heat up some milk, pour it into a French Press, and then agitate it with the French press plunger by going up and down with it real fast. But you did make it look really cool, and you get that cool sound from it when the milk comes out. By the way, Bialetti makes an electric frother.

    I didn't see a single tool that the average person can't afford. Some you would have to save a bit if money is tight, but nothing unaffordable. And tools you don't want to fork out money for, like a lathe (300$ at home depo for a cheapo one) then you can always find a wood shop in the area that you could pay around 150$ to have access to items like lathes, planers and the like. Everyone in my family, and extended family has personal access to lathes, and most of them are alcoholic hillbillies.

    У вас не взрывался паровой котел и вы не отравляли себя формальдегидом из эпоксидной смолы. Теперь будет наоборот. В этой конструкции вы не имеете возможности контролировать давление пара. И запрещен контакт эпоксидной смолы с продуктами питания.

    The pressure is regulated with the original overpressure valve, at around 4 bar. So there should be no problem. But normally you need an additional valve for stuff like this, same concept like pressure cookers. But with his cup, I would never use that.

    Love the ideas. One small point, don't put boiling water on fresh coffee, it will make it slightly bitter. Hot water but not boiling water.
