You keep putting stuff out there and you'll keep growing! That's what the big guys tell me to do and I'll tell you! We're going to be patching this road this week and I'll try to get some footage of the local concrete guys here doing their thing. Be good man!

Thanks for the video. When is the video in the last clip going to be on KZread? Please make videos about 10-15 minutes longer. Thank you!
Wheres the ladder?... ive never used chain scrapers while standing on a water main
Hydro vac unit and run the boiler and no need for all that equipment.
At least Arby’s was 40 feet away 😂
Tim why wouldn't ya'll open a hydrant and bleed the air off a lot faster or were you afraid of to much water coming out and refreezing?
@TimMcArdle

Unfortunately this particular shut down has no hydrant on it otherwise we will flush them and have a salt truck on standby.

Next hydrant was too far to send it down one way? Also did you guys backfill with sand?
Is your guys street department and the grounds crew all one department? In my city it's all one thing, you'll see the guys fixing the storm drains one day and they'll be mowing the grass the next day. They get moved around a lot.

We have street, sewer, water, lake, and cemetery/airport dept. Most do their own things but if help is needed in other departments, everyone is usually eager to help out whenever needed.

@@TimMcArdle That's kind of neat that they have cemeteries that belong to the city. I used to work at a cemetery I loved it. Do you ever have to dig graves with them?
@TimMcArdle

@@kobelcofan I have not...yet.. It is a very nice cemetery. Almost all my past family is there.
Nice video Tim. Though at 4:06 may be the most awkward 40 seconds I've seen on KZread in a while.

Get that question alot. We call it a chain cleaner. It knocks the crustys off the iron pipes.

Dieing breed right there good work pipe guy need guy like you
Goes to show how water finds the easiest path and can be very far from the main, lucky your valves worked to shut them off... try working on mains from the 70's! Haha

This main was put in in the 60s I believe. It's supposed to get replaced now because of all the issues we've had. Only thing that saves us here is we've had so many breaks here, the valves get exercised alot lol!

@@TimMcArdle Damn, I'm only taking over our system for my third year now and they haven't exercised or even flushed hydrants! Lucky you've kept up with it, doing it live is our specialty unfortunately!
@TimMcArdle

Yeah this part is good as far as a shut down. We have a lot of old stuff in town and definitely have some problem areas. I enjoy it and we try to remedy problems asap!
What about shoring?
@compdude551
6 ай бұрын
Don’t need shoring till you are 5 feet deep.
That should have been cut out, you'll be back within a year
@TimMcArdle

With any luck, this main won't be in use within a year or 2! It's cast main and we've had several breaks on this stretch so we're looking at getting it replaced asap!
How many water main breaks can one channel/contractor possibly do? This is ridiculous.
why do I see no woman there? Theyre not having any children anymore, so what are they doing?
