I went to a poor black congregation and missing the meetings was strongly discouraged, especially for work. In a middle-class black hall an elder told me; I'm not going to pay your bills, go to work. At white halls, no one cared. The differences were incredible!!

I get that if you are from a background that has historically used those identities to oppress others. But what if you are from a background that has taught you there is reason to feel shame because of where you came from, or what you look like or what language you speak. I know a sister whose pride and joy was that she gave up a scholarship to Julliard to work at Bethel. She lives in a slum now, but she’s married to an elder and does hair on the side. No, thank you!

I’m not JW, but have JW friends and I always tell them the JW organization is foundered by Freemasons so a lot of the JW structure is all Satanic. The founder are members of Skull and Bones and no understanding of Yahuah. I could go in but I’m sure most of you all now this but for those that don’t Look into the foundation of the JW organization and you will see that it was all a plan to keep people under control and lead them into false worship.

Yeah I just got off of the phone with my grandmother about an hr ago and she's still in the cult. I tried to warn her and in retaliation she blamed me for a brother who was 5 years older than me sexually harassing me since I was 12 yrs old. To be honest, I'm very depressed and it really cut me to my core. She still goes out in service with him and his family including his 19 yr old fiance of which she compared to me saying that "She's such a pleasant girl and you two are so much alike." I'm honestly so disgusted I can't eat... I truly don't have any family, this cult has destroyed so much of my life.

The fact that they dictate how much a petson should work and what kind of job they're "allowed" to take is ridiculous! Yet, the minions follow right along as told! There are lots of brilliantly talented JW's out there that were stripped of their futures! My son is one of them! He should have gone to college to be an engineer! My youngest should be on an NFL defensive line!

Watchtower wants your money, that’s why he looked up wealth instead of money! They think they are slick! The GB are living in the lap of luxury at Bethel, and want their members living in slums! I left in my late 40s, went back to college and obtained my degree! Loved this video. You two are a lovely couple, and I am glad you guys got out of that organization.

It is crazy being 46 and working my first job in tech. I'm single, living in a basement, stuffing 25% of 50K into a 401K and paying for my masters out of pocket with 100K in student loan debt! If I'm lucky I'll be able to get out of debt and buy a house to live in as an old man. Don't be like me! Leave this organization as a young person. If you are 20, and start investing just $100 a month, you can retire at 65 a millionaire. That is the "truth" I wish I had focused on.

So true! From my experience over here in the Netherlands, I know a lot of married sisters have a (very small) parttime cleaning job. Or maybe are a homebased hairdresser or nailartist. They build up almost no or very little pension. After the dead of their husband a lot of them struggle financially at old age..😢😢😢

I grew up as a JW .. My mother pioneered off and on for 50yrs. I just found out after 50 yrs that I had a different Dad then my 5 brothers and sisters. So my mother pioneered while lying to me about my real father. Also she covered up her son-in-law who molested a 13-year-old that lived across the street from him all while he was a practicing Jehovah's witness. She never told the elders in the congregation about this molestation.

Another point with the them specifically using the black man for the skit ….. remember they have an entire African demographic as well. A problem they are facing with a lot of African countries is the higher education clause ( OMG ! the American CO’s used to make us feel like vermin because we were in school.) Poverty is the root of all evil not money. Watchtower needs to get it together. Oh another thing , the apartments they live in bethel are top tier. Like I can’t even afford it in my country ( Ghana) if I didn’t work full time. Watchtower needs to SIT they ASS DOWN

Really smart to point out the racial dynamic... its uncomfortable to do but it's necessary.

I have several families in my family that are JWs. All of the fathers had good jobs, bought property and had children. Their children now have good jobs working for the state, gov, and so on. They have bought properties but have chose to not have children. I have always wondered if the choice to not have children is another way to take time and pull money from them. When you have children you need to work more and you have less time and money. Telling the congregation not to bring children into this system of things can be very strategic. They can donate that money and time to witnessing. IJS.

Grew up as a JW and still am. My mother and father are JWS too. I went to college and have had a very lucrative career. Learned long ago, if its not specifically written in the bible its just opinion. And my opinion is as good as any ones including the GB. Took a lot of crap at the KH over the years and have seen the ones that gave me the most crap have long left the truth. People needed to grow a pair. I think since the 50 year anniversary of 1975 is coming up the GB will get more light and will sanction higher education to keep members. A fun fact of my extended family, all the ones that went to college are still JWs (five of us). The three that didn't faded years ago.

For real. Everyone in the old testament was rich. And yet somehow it did not impede their blessings.

They teaching to be poor, so I donot make a fancy education and I worked in a supermarket half time, so I could go preaching. One time I fell and broke my teeth, but I couldn’t afford to pay so I needed a credit and got it. But then the elder judged me and my preaching position. He questioned my role model function (but I did nothing wrong) what should I do? I needed teeth to eat! Gosh! I did everything how they teached me and then „Jehovah“ couldn’t help me? And I even was judged by the elders?

No because these videos are always like "I live in an impoverished country and I was tempted to separate from my family to move to a more affluent country in order to send money back to them so they weren't living below the poverty line, but I was concerned about my family's spiritual health if I left. SO I stayed. And Jehovah has really blessed us. Now we all eat one slice of bread every single day to meet our nutritional needs. And it's worth it because my whole family is pioneering, and I'm a ministerial servant."

I had moved out on my own because I had to. I was pioneering at the time and really wanted a job that would fit my pioneer schedule, i.e. low paying hospitality/service worker jobs. I ended up having to get 2 jobs because job 1 was cutting my hours. I was barely able to sleep or take care of myself. If I wasn't out in service, I was at the meeting. And if I wasn't at the meeting I was sleep. I finally asked the elders to be taken off the pioneer list and they told me to work harder and pray more and jehovah would work it out. I stayed on for about 3 months after that and eventually got off the list. After being announced one of the elders came up to me after the meeting and said, "Are you still working 2 jobs? You need to make sure of the more important things!" Bro, I was so offended. I was literally just trying to pay my rent on time. Not by a Mercedes.

I agree. I'm almost 56. That mentality pretty much hindered my potential to have been more, or have attained more than what I have in my life. Many are frustrated and were left struggling, trying to "hustle and bustle" to make ends meet. This religion is generally poison. 🤔🤨

I think there's two reasons they put videos out like this. The first, obvious one is to get the young ones to not enter the work force in earnest, but Secondly, to give validation to ALL the millions that sacrificed their lives to this nonsense. Makes them feel like they did the right thing.

My PIMI grandmother used to say, "as long as you got a roof over your head, some kinda job, and a peice of a car, you doin good." She died broke and alone . That mindset is a trap that most jws fall into. I've had a great career and was able to put some money aside. It does my heart proud to see you young folks doing well for yourselves. I love you guys and your videos are on point. I was friendly with the JWS when I was growing up. As I grew older I gravitated to the religion . I was attracted to their way of life. They seemed to be genuine Christians. The idea of "studying" the bible appealed to me. I thought, finally I am going to know the bible from cover to cover and be able to teach others too. Three years into the religion as an unbaptized publisher, I realized that their bible was edited to suit the teachings of the Watchtower Track and Bible Society. You see , prior to me being associated with the witnesses, I had a relationship with God. The God that they preached about was a stranger to me. He was not the God I knew and loved. It is a sad situation for people who go into this religion with no knowledge of who God is because when they leave they become bitter and distance themselves from him. I guess it is mission accomplished for Watchtower.

What do all Jehovah’s Witnesses work for free or something? How about the governing body?

People that were dedicated JWs in the 1970’s and now are retirement ages in their 60’s and 70’s are feeling the effects of only working part time jobs with no retirement benefits and no social security.

I have been BINGE watching yall its so much that I want to say. But I was wondering sooo many things. I don’t know if Im EX JW, but I did do the beginning Bible studies and went to a few conventions. Long story short, I wasn’t fond of it and truth be told I was always spiritual but I needed something concrete to be stationed in. My ex best friend is still there. She abandoned her dreams and just was not having normal talks anymore, she just kept trying to convert me. Its more layered but It was difficult to see. I love your videos so much. Keep educating and showing the truth. 🎉

My wife's sister was a witless and convinced me not to have a goal of retirement in the marines because the end could come any day now just around the corner . When i started waking up i went from a charger to a challenger on purpose a told the wife(still in😢) this is not a service car and so what if they talk they dont pay the note.

Yes, the JW's that used to visit my mother back in the 1980s on Long Island would come to the house in new BMWs and Mercedes, they had their own successful business and were dressed very well. Their jewelry was amazing! You guys are on POINT with everything you said!

Yeah, they NEED to have the members work only part time so that they can devote the major portion of their time keeping the GB in their wealthy lifestyles, building KH that the GB can sell as prime real estate and besides, who would peddle those magazines from door to door which proceeds contribute to their wealthy lifestyles? Don't you know they're doing it for kingdom interests? (Note: their luxurious lifestyles, homes, autos and travel accommodations is the "kingdom" they promote😅!

I worked under two JW elders in my career. Both were sales management professionals making good $$$. Money is not evil in itself. The LOVE of money is the root of all EVIL. BTW, the Bible also says: "But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel." 1 Timothy 5:8 Many of the churches out there want people to make money so they could pay tithes and offerings to the church and to support the pastor.

I knew a few 'brothers' who were extremely wealthy, and to be fair they were nice people who didn't show off or brag about their riches. These were a tiny fraction of most JW's I know, who unlike these wealthy ones instead gave a lot of their finances to the Borg and put free time and a lot of sweat into building KH properties which many were later sold on, and not a single penny handed back to those who 'donated'. When I was training to be an airline pilot I was told by an elder "There won't be aircraft in the paradise, so is it wise to spend so much time and money on the study and work to become a pilot?". Well, thanks to ignoring him, and quite a few others, and by still remaining a christian (but without being part of any religion) I landed a great contract and it paid well and I got to see a lot of this world. Had I stayed in that disgusting cult I'd likely be nowhere now, and also struggling to make ends meet.

Back in 2017 when I purchased my first home, my JW parents said they were disappointed in my decision to buy a home. They said I should have simplified my life. I remember she compared me and my wife to a couple from her congregation that did that. I didn’t go to college (surprise surprise) and not rich but I make a good living in construction. This cult sees middle class income earners as rich people 😂.

And all the while no Jehovah’s Witness knows 100% for sure where these sacrifices will lead. Or even who Jehovah really is in the first place. Like many other groups claiming to be Christian. They take part of the foundation, a lot of hype, run with it, and assume the have the whole puzzle.

The assembly is this weekend in my Chicago from Fri-Sun. When my family member said it’s from 9 something in the morning to about 4:30, I was like that sounds like work lol. I’m sure it’s some people who can’t afford miss work to spend all those hours at the convention. I’m trying to figure out what is there to talk about for all those hours over a 3 day span

I asked my mom yesterday, "it seems like there are a lot more assemblies now, what's going on?" She's in Chicago too. She says they break the assemblies up into 2 weekends over the year instead of 2 - 3 consecutive days. How much more of their time is that taking up? Now you have to drive to Romeoville 5 times a year instead of two. Thats crazy to me.

My mom didn't do a job as a manager at a hospital that another family member hooked her up with because during the interview she was saying she needed to go to the kingdom hall and field service multiple times a week.

Those “super Christian’s” are also delusional. You need money to pay your bills and live a good life. You shouldn’t have to live like a slave or a pauper for your entire life. A “loving” god wouldn’t want that for his “children”. And any god that wants you to suffer your entire life and struggle to live isn’t a god worth worshipping in the first place. These people need to use their critical thinking skills.

The doublespeak is something I never really noticed as much before. Delayed materialism is the whole theme of the preaching work, isn’t it? You sacrifice everything you’d be a really well-dressed poor person slaving away for the watchtower and you can have your pic of houses after Armageddon.and here the person who was talking with the young man about how much money he could make and said don’t focus on the sacrifices. Focus on the reward is not the same speech?
