Your videos have been encouraging and tremendous aid in readjusting my life. I grew up with JWs but never got baptized. After reaching 18 years old, I stopped going to the hall leaving relatives and old friends behind. Being out in the world, I had my challenges but some of the moral principles of JWs allowed me to live a good life. I finished college, got a good job, apartment and moved to a different state. Nothing was perfect but I am happy with my decisions living a life lived. Some years ago, I decided to move again where some previous JWs friends who know my relatives. At first, I experienced the love boom phase with almost every outing was an opportunity to get pulled me back in. I even went a meeting too. It became overwhelming after being away so long and what was said to me now sounded so cultish. I just couldn't go back there mentally. Eventually, after several invitations for a bible study then the shunning began by old friends. I felt lost, betrayed and isolated. That's when I found your videos and have regained happiness knowing there is a community of people like me. Thank you, Awaken Truths!! Keep your content coming. I love it!!!!

"Being out in the world, I had my challenges but some of the moral principles of JWs allowed me to live a good life." Exactly 💯, this is the part of JWs that I miss. Regardless of positivity, the fact remains that this world is far from wonderful. When a person has not experienced tragedy, injustice, or serious challenges, it is difficult to see how bad it can really get for some. The lack of empathy is real. Thus, these situations are ideal for cults' recruitment.

Variety is the spice of life. - is the saying. I think when someone says something fearful about health - it's almost like their mind goes on auto pilot and they feel sick, then they have symptoms, and it just gets progressively worse. Marcus Aurelius said, "Our lives are what our thoughts make it "

My parents were JW and many of my family. But my parents weren't fanatical, so I actually grew up in the "normal world" and at the same time in the "JW world", which is definitely rare. When I was 15, I separated completely from the JW. But I know all the rules, the atmosphere and have always had contact with JW through my family. Your videos are therefore very interesting for me. Greetings from Germany.🇩🇪

Bridgerton actually gave me cult vibes and maybe that’s why i liked it 😅 all of their rules in the society and everything and yet people always breaking them was absolutely what i observed in the jw religion lol

14:08 I'm a pimo myself for 5 yrs since 17 and fallen to deep depression to this day, constanly thinking dark thoughts since after all the lies they told me as well as the fears they put in me. Being in that hall is like being in a mental/regular prison

This is why i dont' go after my old JW buddies and try to wake them up, I hope they are just looking at my example and is up to them for change, see the outcome for most of us that used to be JWs: -Atheist - Free to do whatever you were blocked before (alcolholism, drugs....) . so I guess some people they just need that "Check", all the time. but why not AA meetings at that point - People like me, who still believe's there's a God but i stay away from religion - or swap religion, but I haven't noticed a "In between" per say Although, if JWs still keep knocking my door, then that's a fair game for me to try to wake them up as they would try to indulge me their false beliefs 💯

This is so true! We have done away with religion completely. It’s hard not to see the corruption now. But we still believe in a higher power. And life is much more peaceful to us this way. Also being dedicated to self development opens up not only your mind but your heart as well

I tell you I love your videos. It just seems like it is right on time for me. I have not been going to the hall for months now. I just do not feel like it fits in my life and my children. Also I can tell you that everything you both are saying it is so true how I have felt. I cannot speak on anyone else but it is so true. I just recently watched Leah Remini on Tubi Scientology and the Aftermath Season 3 and episode 99 about Jehovah Witness's and the interviewers on there were telling the truth how it is once you decide to leave or get DF (disfellowshipped).

I received another call from the Elders, they had asked me to write a letter of disassociation But I had refused. NOW they say they will make the announcement that I'm no longer a witness which I was OK with. But after I took a look at this watchtower study for this weekend,(disgusting)I feel like I wanna make it harder for the elder to get rid of me.. What do you guys think I should do?

  • @AwakenTruths

Lol what coincidence they probably studied and began thinking of everybody who may have been weakened by “false” stories. Lol they likely will make the announcement regardless and I’m not sure how you will make it harder for them. What’s your plan?

@AwakenTruths I was probably going to threaten to sue them. I moved to New York 4 months ago, prior to that I was living in the Dominican Republic and my name will be announced there. I am going to threaten to sue the Elders individually, just to be petty and make it hard for them.

Title: life AFTER cult,, ? That sounds great to me?? Asuming? If either of you actually know ANYTHING about JW , let alone ever stepped foot inside a Hall? Sounds doubtful? I will asume this however, you spend more time AFTER than while there. . The key word here is AFTER. WHEN ,, ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE THE ""AFTER" AFTER? IT SEEMS YOU SPEND MORE TIME INVOLVED WITH "THE CULT" "NOW" THAN EVER BEFORE?? IM JUST QUESTIONING, WHEN SO YOU INTEND TO MAKE ""AFTER" ACTUALLY AFTER!! HINT HINT.

People find out it’s a cult and don’t know where to go from that point in life….. instead of us figuring it out and not helping people….. we decide to help. The thousands of people who thank us for our content. We could care less about the cult but we care about the people who got taken advantage of

Leaving JW and keeping yourself in good spirits can definitely be challenging, its hard to get out of that mind space depending on how long you've been in, and the ties you've had there. But the fact is, there is joy in living your Own truth, with your own choices; not that of some cookie-cutter cult. Dont let anyone take away your freedom of choice over your own life. 🙏🏽🪴☀️
