This is a gold nugget. We always think about wasting time = doing nothing. It is true, what is worse is wasting time by doing a lot that isnt in alignment with yourself. Thank you !!

@The Hard Stuff This is only your personal interpretation of certain actions. What does it mean zero positive benefits? What are the criteria of it? Personal judgement based on your mood? Waste of time can be applied to smth you have done and then regret about it but even in that way your actions changed the reality bringing you somewhere else. Life is about getting full range of sensations and in order to get it we have act by changing the current reality. Whatever you do in life you change it and that change contribute to the global change of what humanity is doing each second.

It might be feeding the birds, which may have spread love all over the world. I saw healthy nature praying about it, I attract it back. The birds were not here. I wished them back, they came back. It was my love that brought it.

What is bringing us joy and happiness? is it what you're doing now? how do you consider your present? if you feel empty and if you think you're wasting time you're actually wasting it,"Your actions in this timeframe are limited, time is not, but your time in YOUR life is. What are you going to do about it?

Play the baritone ukulele, listen to prog rock, go down the pub once a week. 10 years have just flown, don’t fall into the pub in the day slot too much! We all know where that leads, and the more holidays you go on the faster it goes. Honestly, 55 to 65 a real accelerated BLUR!

I love Shi Heng Yi. So wise! If everything is energy and the results of one’s actions are not apparent on the material plane that doesn’t mean one’s efforts are in vain. If someone goes deep inside to heal ancestral traumas for example, that healing has value forwards and backwards in time, but that person doing the healing may not have anything material to show for it. Despite that, it doesn’t mean the value of that life is lessened.

The takeaway is to be honest with your intentions, which is another way of saying to be honest with yourself. If you know who you are and what you want you will have a clear idea of what kind of life you want to live and what your goals should be.After that all you would have to do is work toward your goals all the while being honest with your intentions. I've struggled with this so much when I was in college and grad school and I can't even count the hours and days I've wasted trying to get work done but having nothing to show for it. It was so frustrating that it made me so angry with myself. It's so refreshing to have it articulate the way Shi Heng Yi has. It's some solid life advice.

THIS video has taught me, that I am definitely not wasting my time, when I invest it in a good quality massage.!!! That (1) hour I spend on the table I invested back into my health. ------- When I meditate for a few minutes, that helps the brain slow down thus slowing the aging process. --------- Patting my cat, helps my health. Taking a walk, helps my knees and heart rate. I don't make any money doing these things, but I would rather die than do any more work wasting my time in this one very precious life that I am honoured to get to live..!!!

In our society we are unfortunately not tought about the preciousness of every moment in life and how to become a master in living a good life. We definitely waste the most of our time and also the time of the people we have often contact with. We are too much focused on the material aspects in our live, like money, aquiring things, career and our egotistical needs, because we are told that these are intentions that matter. I was suspicious of that since my childhood, but it took me a long way to learn what really matters in life and even more important who I really am from mystics and spiritual masters. Thank you for this nice short interview as a reminder!

We all do things on automatic mode, but these teachers remind us that paying close attention, to anything we do and any thoughts that come up in our minds, brings about a peace and happiness in itself. Then the thoughts let go by themselves like clouds rolling away, since we only look at them and don't grasp them. Sure, we can find temporary happiness in outer things but it does not satisfy very long and it only disappoints unless we focus on our mind itself which is the true source of happiness. While doing this, it's helpful to breathe more from our waist out ("belly breathing") to stimulate the Vagus Nerve and to have an anchor for the mind-watching. That brings happiness in itself and is the best way to spend life and then we should have the intention of wanting that for everyone.

I love a comment that time is not a duration, it is what enables something to start. Without it there would be nothing.

Just go with the wind, changing destiny, course, trend, it takes bigger effort. Practising on items at home gives great results, mixing it with readings Ancient scrypts, excersising body with chikung and ie. Tai Chi helps body and minds to be normal. Finally staying with those who bring light to the community gives positive vibrations. Like you Sifu. Both Shaolin and WuDang are so refreshing. 🌬️☯️

very powerful words. things that important in life is not what you like, things that matters are the thing you need to do in your life. for example, they prepare tea for this podcast because they want to make sure that during the talks their mouth don't get dry, even though at the end they didn't drink it, the tea is still useful, however if they prepared beer in the table, even though they want to drink it, but they can't so the preparation is useless. this is my understanding on "doing more but zero outcome= waste"

Gratitude! His tedTalk is amazing also. What a wise man! And no cheesy music is put behind him! Music behind wise words sounds too much like Disney to me and I find it distracting and too dramatic. Thank you for the silence. Gratitude for your excellent presentation and editing skills for this wise man to be heard. Subscribed. ❤️👏🙏🏼🌞

This understanding of living our lives with purpose that is fruitful is one I can understand, my own life in retrospect (LOOKING BACK) is a life I can see where there are holes that I wasn't mature enough to fill, one very helpful action on my part was to open a home ownership account at my bank, I was fortunate to be able to catch up in my 30th year and secure a home loan, if I was more alert or aware earlier I would be even more prosperous in my judgement for long term life choices.. I always say to anyone of a younger age, LIFE IS A RACE AGAINST TIME ( meaning the end of your life ) you need to be positive about where you as an individual want out of this lifetime & NOT BE COMPLACENT.

As a American I learn so much from these videos in the aspect of being a better man for all living things, genuinely as cliche as that sounds I walk away from watching these videos a better version of myself and the want to learn and continue growing I’ve been caught up in the rat race for so long fear, greed, ignorance and unethical thinking has made me dislike the man in the mirror hopefully one day that will fully change 🙏🏻

"What life wishes for you" reminds me of a similar quote from Abraham Hicks and also of the 'true self' idea of Carl Jung.

There is a huge difference between mid 20s or even early 20s and late 30s and beyond. I wish I had discovered Stoicism 15 years ago. Late 30s: you try and try and try, but you just must beware of so many constraints you wish were not there.
