WATCH LIVE: Ice Cream Man Double Murder Retrial - FL v. Michael Keetley - Day Seven
Ойын-сауық
Former ice cream truck driver Michael Keetley is facing a retrial for allegedly shooting six people on Thanksgiving 2010, killing two brothers, and injuring four others. Prosecutors allege Keetley was out for revenge after his ice cream truck was robbed for $12, but mistakenly targeted the wrong suspects. Keetley’s first trial in February 2020 resulted in a deadlocked jury. The former ice cream man is facing two first-degree murder charges and four counts of attempted murder.
Reason For Retrial: Defense attorney’s argued Keetley was too badly wounded from his own shooting, to carry-out the shooting in Ruskin that killed two people. Weak witness testimony led to a mistrial in 2020, after some state witnesses failed to identify Keetley as the shooter, identifying another man in a police mug shot packet. Defense witnesses were more exacting in their testimony, which led to a jury deadlock of 10 not guilty, 2 guilty, and eventually a mistrial.

His attorney argued it shouldn't be allowed in because the first victim survived...making it not similar....can you imagine that being the reason she felt it wasn't similar?!

The way the witness responds during the cross examination is always most telling because they've rehearsed time and time again with the prosecution. @@CandaceRanee witnesses generally are rehearsed obviously things come up that weren't rehearsed but usually attorneys will go through questioning with witnesses beforehand to help things go more smoothly on trial day. @CandaceRanee the witnesses are given copies of their depositions by request but if they aren't the ones on trial I guess a lot of them don't bother. This is pretty close to perfect for a judge. I know people wanted murdoch guilty so they liked that judge, but he couldnt of been more biased. Murdoch was going to be found guilty no matter the judge tho so no need to extend a trial 2 weeks for things not related to the charges. The rittenhouse judge seemed to care about making the right decision but he was wayyyy to slow about it and invited constant arguing on every little point.
