Highly recommend PartSelect for the quality of parts, quick delivery, and the effort they've made with the video library to enable a reasonably handy person to perform the repair. I had to replace my burnt-out washer motor and drive belt and the specific video made the proper steps clear and concise. Great job!

Hi conirish2004, thanks very much for the kind words! Very glad we could help you find the solution.
Hi, Roger, You will have to open up the washer in order to remove the motor with pulley.
Exactly how tight should the 3/8 ths nuts be ? How free should the slides be? Can the spring somehow be stretched to ensure proper tension? Thanks
Thankyou when I see a wachine machine outside I'm going to take it to my apartment and take out the motor and the control panel.
Oh Hi! thanks for your video! I actually need the pulley, how could I remove it? please let me know, thanks!
Whats with the replacement of the springs. How did you reattach the pulley to the motor? Did the video skip?
How did you remove the pulley motor? Can the pulley motor be removed without going inside the washer?
Yea Steve maybe I'm missing something here.. Why did you go from replacing the motor to messing with the springs.. thanks.

Exactly! It makes it seem like one needs to replace the springs because of the motor change? Yes or no?
The washer starts to move be almost immediately stops spinning and there is a distinct smell (similar to burning smell) and the effort to spin is there, but no movement. Pretty easy to tell it is the motor from this explanation?

+Howard Saccoliti Can you specify the model number you have?
I would like to buy a motor for this machine
Do you have to replace the spings when you replace the motor? Is that why its on this video or something you stuck in?

Oops. That was an editing error and the portion of the video from about 9:08 to 12:05 can be disregarded.
My pulley melted and all I needed to do was replace it. You got to the part where the motor came out then it jumped to a replacement motor. How is a pulley only removed?

If the motor switch terminals are corroded you can try to clean them with fine emery paper. If the contacts are not perfectly clean, the motor may draw too much current and overheat or trip the breaker or fuse.
The repair man say the motor no good,so I asked Lowes to give me a new machine they say no so we still waiting 7 days already n no washing machine jet.we have to do laundry at the coin laundry and very expensive 6.25 to wash , small machine $4.75
My whirlpool washing machine I bought it at Lowes last me 1 year good that came with3 year warranty, but they are giving me the run around with the fixing they are taking their time to come to the house and do repair .I pay $713.21, at Lowes never again with Lowes very irresponsible don't care about customers they take the money and do not care about the customers.
