I really love that you are so detailed in your videos! I stopped watching KZread videos that are about new products! I switched to channels like yours that are more practical and help me understand why I love making cards. I have lots of products that I purchased and only know one way to use them. I am on a limited budget and have so many supplies that I haven’t used. Watching videos like yours and Natasha Foote and others, have helped me to start using what I have and I am much happier making a card I am happy to send, and don’t need to go buy something new! I am still not sure of my style. I make cards for a specific person in mind and try to design what I think would please the recipient. So thank you for this video! The cards you made are really fantastic!

I like working with pieces, even tiny tiny pieces.(miniature). Love that our container hangs. I use containers for beads or I have gone to harbor freight, parts store and got containers with many cubbies in them.they also have a magnetic bowl you can use when die cutting. Set your dies in it till your done and won't be loosing any till ready to put back. Thanks for Sharing. I like that die, but you do need a container.. :)

I have some serious buying regret when it comes to art/craft tools. I’m out the money ( that would have been spent on different supplies, no illusions that I would have saved the money) and most are still taking up real estate in my creative space. My top three regrets are the envelope punch board, Ranger’s melting pot, and a tag frame crimper that never worked well. Fortunately the envelope board was technically free since it was like a reward for purchases or free with purchase, something like that. Not nearly as great as advertised. I should have bought Copics instead. The tag crimper cost me $40 which may or may not have included the tag frames. I still have a bag of the metal frames. The melting pot actually got some use. But was not nearly as great as advertised. And I have figured out lots of stuff since then. Mainly that casting embossing powder is a waste of my time. But Inkhill is absolutely right that I gained valuable information about my making preferences. From the envelope punch board I figured out that I should not buy a tool when what I really need is to develop a skill. But my struggles with the punch board led me to figuring out the basics of making an envelope. Today I can make an envelope for any size or shape of card. Now I am working on paper boxes. The skills are very similar. From the melting pot purchase I learned to figure out if there is an existing solution that is better for me. Ranger’s Melting Pot was in actuality a specialized electric griddle/pan/hot plate. Those things are all pretty similar and I would recommend spending less money on the more generic item. In this case a griddle. You can melt all of your embossing powders, thermodynamic plastics, waxes, etc. in pie tins on a griddle. Bonus lesson was that cast embossing powder is way to brittle to be practical in collage--- better to go with resin or paper clay. From the tag crimper, I didn’t learn that specific a lesson. I should have asked myself “realistically how many metal rimmed tags are you going to make?” Answer: Not many. Who decided that was a good idea? I’m definitely more circumspect now. I didn’t buy a Minc nor will I buy one of the hot foiling plates. There’s definitely value in learning to take some time to figure out what I’m really after: a skill, an experience, just fitting in with all the other card makers, supporting a friend’s business, or purchasing thrills. It’s definitely better to know before spending money.

When I end up with a supply like a set of dies I can’t figure out I go back to KZread and watch more “how to”s and try to figure it out. If that doesn’t work I put it away for a week or so then I try it again.

Hi Brenda! Thank you! I got it from Daiso, which is kind of like a dollar store. Everything’s $1.50, but if you don’t have them locally than you have to order a set of them, looks like 12 containers for $18 www.daisojapan.com/p-30961-case-w-10-compartments-41-x-98-in-12pks.aspx

I got it from Daiso, unfortunately if you don’t have a local Daiso and instead order online, they require more bulk orders, just like dollar tree. Here’s the link: www.daisojapan.com/p-30961-case-w-10-compartments-41-x-98-in-12pks.aspx

I was soooo excited when I stumbled across your channel. You have a totally fresh and unique take on card making that is so inspiring. However, after binge-watching a dozen of your videos I couldn't take the vocal-fry any more. It was driving me up the wall. It's like fingers on a chalkboard :( As one of the other 96% of the planet, I totally get that vocal-fry is and acceptable way of speaking to Americans. But please realise that your audience potential is so much bigger than the US. I have started to mute your videos and turned on CC, but it's not the same :-/ I just wish there was a way those rough edges could be smoothed over. I’ve not heard of this before today. Most definitely not intending to be exclusive in the way I talk. It’s just my voice. So sorry to hear you feel that way. Google tells me a portion of the population, also in America, doesn’t like it. Putting yourself out there in the online world has got to be the quickest way to break people pleasing habits and learn to have your own back because no matter what you do or who you are, someone will always not like it. I’m doing lots of learning to love me these days.

@@inkhillrevival289 That was a gracious and mature response to th writer. As they so often say in the stamping world, "you do you". So many people here have commented on your voice and calmness and that's the message to retain. There are a jillion voice tones, scales, accents and slides and one can adjust, limit to watching one at a time or stop watching. I find the way you talk very REAL and personal and conveying a sense of talking with a thoughtful friend. Don't ever change -- particularly not for someone else!
