Two of my favorite Brian Blessed anecdotes are when he was in Mongolia and a wolf came into his tent for warmth, so he serenaded it. The other was when he was riding a dog sled over the polar ice and a Russian submarine popped up. The Russian sailors came out to see a big hulking with his beard white with snow in the middle of absolute nowhere. It was near Xmas so he sung xmas carols at them. both are so very Brian, and you can easily imagine him doing them. There needs to be more Brian Blesseds in this world

Dreadnaught1985 I've "seen' Stephen Fry partaking of the odd pint in some doco or another and always got the impression he was waiting for the director to shout: "Cut!" He does indeed come across as more of a wine aficionado especially when considering his hugely expensive and highly elaborate wine-pouring contraption and favourite personal "gadget". Brian Blessed on the other hand seems to me like a straightforward mead, bitter and/or ale man with the odd Scotch chaser thrown in for good measure. I'd be more than happy though to quaff whichever drink of choice with these two indomitable legends... :)

Ugh. No, you don't "turn left" to get out of any maze. First, you choose one, follow left or follow right. It doesn't matter which, just don't change it. If you chose left, then you go straight if you can't go left, and you go right if you can't go left or straight. Second, this only works if you entered the maze at an outer wall and the exit is on an outer wall. Third, if the maze has two or more levels, there's absolutely no reason to believe it will follow this rule. (As an example, consider a square room with a square room above it. In the bottom room, you go left, up a ramp, _over the exit,_ and back down on the other side. If there's a similar set-up over the top of the entrance, you'll not pass by it again either.) There _might_ be a simple adaptation you can make to the rule, though, that will fix this. I haven't worked it out, I just think it's possible.

Brian Blessed is so awesome and the Childish wonder of Richard talking to him is just the sweetest thing
Love how Richard prefaces his answers with, "I think I know the answer." It's downright endearing.
Brian Blessed has anecdotes for days doesn't he? He's certainly lived what they call "a full life."

Brian Blessed is such a wonderful man. He has lived more in his years on this world, than most other people will ever. An anecdote for every occasion, so well read, well mannered and just all round fucking epic. Really a national treasure if ever one was had... I would love to go for a pint with him and Ranulph Fiennes.

micky's idea of stating how long one should look at a painting is brilliant.
I cant think of any shows here in the U.S. that have this many consistently funny people on it. Quick witted, smart as hell all around awesome show
Richard Ayoade, David Mitchell, and BRIAN BLESSED? This might be the best thing I've just stumbled across on KZread.
I cannot get over Brian Blessed in this. It is like Professor Challenger made manifest in the heart of a British Game Show. Everyone else- "Let's banter and tease each other about the lack of penalties in this show." Brian Blessed- "There is a penalty. Just south of Everest, on the southern side, is Fangdung..." And everyone is immediately in awe and captivated.

When I was growing up I didn't like when Brian Blessed was on TV. Maybe because he was a bit loud and brash. I didn't really understand why he was famous. Now I am reformed, I do like to see Brian on things, he's so very worldly. Listening to him speak about science is quite uplifting :-)

Richard seems to be in paradise every time Brian speaks. It's great seeing him break out of character and be lost in pure joy. I want to see and hear him more. I don't like people but he's one of those rare people in my list who I want to meet.
If Brian Blessed ever decides he's too old to travel the world, he should get a TV show were he tells his story. He's a pretty great story teller, and his life is something special.

Richard's knowledge of Hitchcock... he never ceases to amaze me.
"I'm just a person, person. I don't have super powers." Fucking brilliant.
As soon as Brian Blessed was named...this episode became gold!
I love Richard, David and so on - but Brian Blessed was just such a joy in this episode, he by himself really elevated this episode to one of my favourite pieces of telly ever.
David Mitchell said something pretty brilliant and insightful at 6:45-ish - to paint a subject is both to depict, and to obscure. That struck out to me.

Everytime I see Brian Blessed, I learn something crazy about him. This time, it's that he's best mates with the Queen. What a legend.
The inflection when David says, "Yeah, that was me. I'm dead inside." 😅🤣😂
I don't think I've ever seen Katherine Ryan wearing light makeup and just looking like a normal, lovely woman instead of all made up and model-ish. She's hilarious either way...
8:55 "What are the penalties?" David's response xD 13:34 "Ohhh I see, it's William!" 15:00 why didn't that story go longer? That sounds so ridiculous, love it xD or was it a joke? (I'm quite dumb) 26:10 "....fucking... well done!"
I think David actually said that last quote about crying on yet another game show, Would I Lie to You?
Micky with that honesty bit, absolutely hilarious.
29:09 His smile drops so suddenly.
9:47 onwards is pure gold!
If there was an award for best human in history, passed on whenever someone surpassed the previous holder, Brian Blessed would be buried with it.
Brian Blessed has the best voice ever!
"I'm being forced into a verbal pattern that i don't wish to adopt..." "And that's how you run a quiz." "Why are any of us other than Brian ever speaking?" I need to meet Richard. And his wife. Then subtly, possibly with the help of radical hypnosis convince both to of them to become open to poligamy or an open marriage, then make them move to Utah...or Saudi Arabia, i'm not really picky...and live with them forever and ever.
