Thanks for your additional insight! I totally forgot to mention the weight! And you're right, the break in period is virtually non-existent!

To aid in drying of the equipment, I have been using a dehumidifier for 20 odd years now. By morning, all of my gear is dry, and some of my oldest pieces hardly have any smell. This also helps keep the equipment lasting much longer.

Red Lobster sponsored our adult team back in the day and I had all red TPS Xceed gloves. The lobster lives!

Did you ever end up relacing this glove? I finally broke down and ordered the G4 glove (senior non-pro full right) and a 60 degree liner (comes with the 75 stock). My only color option was white, and I'll be relacing it with black skate lace to put a target in the pocket.

Hey, thanks for the sub and your comment! If you're specifically asking about the G4 glove, relacing is basically the same as my Re-lacing video. The only difference is that the G4 tee is anchored with a separate piece of lacing cord. I haven't done it myself (yet) but I think you can undo the knot by the backhand/ finger strap plastic loop and by unlacing that piece (which I think is separate from the perimeter binding lace), it will free the tee. You would need a lacing needle to relace that part afterward.

Great Video! I bought this glove in Intermediate size for my son. We were expecting it to be broken in like on the reviews, but the glove is pretty stiff (even for me), any suggestions?

Thanks so much for your comment! While I don't have any hands on time with the Int Glove, what I would do is to remove the liner and see if without it, the glove still feels stiff. It may be that liner was installed tightly and causing difficult closure. Otherwise, the Int may need just a little more break in time than the Pro. My glove did close easily out of the box, but didn't feel really broken in until I had a number of skates in it.

Thanks for your comment! For my catcher, I went with a 60 degree liner with a Single T and Red Skate lace. The liner, T and lace are really the only available custom options. My blocker has a Medium Palm placed in the High position. Thanks for asking!

I went with the 60 degree liner which IMO feels more like a baseball glove with closer to a fingers to thumb feel as opposed to a 90 fingers to palm. Their standard 75 is somewhere in between. I think at launch it was around 2k usd for the full set.

I've currently been using this glove on demo. It fits like a dream, closes exactly the way you'd want, and anything that hits it seems to stay in it. The only gripe I have is that when you put it next to the competition, it looks smaller in size. What are your thoughts? I feel like because its a Warrior and not a Brians, Vaughn, or CCM I'm almost looking for reasons not to make the switch.

I think that the G4 Glove feels compact and streamlined. The way it's designed, there are no loose flaps or sloppy backhand guards or cuffs. It just feels like a compact glove. I've come from a more traditional glove construction and since using my G4, everything else feels like there is too much give. I think with a traditional glove design, that "give" allows for some degree of adjustability. But with the G4, that adjustability is in the different break liners, so the overall design feels more streamlined. TBH, when I first started using it, I didn't know if I'd like it, but now I wouldn't go back. I think Warrior's approach to their goalie line is really about catering to the needs of real goalie. Self replacing palms means that our gloves can have much longer lives, which means they're not trying to sell use a new one next season (but that doesn't mean we still won't buy them anyway).

No problem! I ordered my set on launch day and have been using it at least once a week since mid May. So far, it's still like new. I'll probably do a quick update video around the 6 month mark.

Can you explain the differences between the 60, 75, and 90 degree liners?

60 is like closing your index finger to the tip of the thumb (or close to it) 90 is like closing your fingertips to the heel of your palm (like giving a thumbs up sign) and 75 is somewhere in between.

@@VOGoalie Thanks very much! Mine came with the 75, and it's a little uncomfortable in my spidery hand. I think I want it to close more like how you describe the 60. Much appreciated!

I will be curious to see how long this set lasts you. I have had 2 pairs of Warrior G2 pro leg pads and they both fell apart after about 6 months of playing only 1 per week. If I only paid $700-800 for a pair of pads I would have shrugged it off but for $1300 I had much higher expectations. I can't see buying any Warrior gear again. Unless of course things have changed with their craftsmanship.

Thanks for your comment! What areas of your G2s broke down or had excessive wear? My Smith 6000s and G1s virtually had not wear after years of use and I've heard nothing but good things about G3s. Maybe the G2s had some design flaw? I'll definitely keep everyone posted about my G4 set as time goes on. Thanks!

The stitching in the knee blocks started to separate after about a month on both sets. I had to take an upholstery needle and punch through the knee block to reattach them on the first set. On the first pair on one of the pads the stitching came undone around 75% of the block after about 3 months of use. On the 2nd set it's about 20% coming apart and I have only worn them about 18-20 times. The straps were also junk. They got wavy and stretched out after just a few months of play and I had to replace all of them. Literally every strap was junk after about a year on my 1st pair. The 2nd pair i'm using now seems to be deteriorating a bit slower but they have the exact same issues.

Interesting. The knee block on the G3 and G4 have been redesigned since the G2. I wonder if there was just some small design flaw. Also, I think the G2s were their first attempt at the knee drive system, so maybe all the kinks weren't worked out yet until the G3s. As for strapping, they've moved away from elastic to the neoprene slings so we'll see how those hold up in the long run. Thanks for your reply!

I wanted to like this glove so much. Mind you i didn't have it on the ice. Just wore it around hockey monkey and played with it alot. I found it felt great on my hand. Like a mitten. I could not for the life of me get use to the closure or the squared edges. Also The more gloves i wore around I sold myself on going back to a 2 piece cuff.

Did you try the Warrior RGT glove? I used to be a 2 piece cuff guy and heard the GT line is a little more old school versus the G3/G4 lines.

VOGoalie I tried on So many gloves in one day. Just to see if i was missing the boat on something. I currently own a 1 piece cuff. The glove closes awesome, super protection. My one gripe is the cuff transition to the palm. Its kind of bulky and I get alot of weird rebounds on shots from in close that would typically go into the glove end up 6 or 8 feet in front of me. Im going to have a glove made by the same guy who made the 1 piece. Same protection, same pocket, just a little more flexibility. I will report back in a few months how that goes.

Ha, I know how you feel! I actually owned a number of Pete Smith's old glove design and started hoarding them when he joined Warrior. For me, I've been waiting for a number of years for the evolution to the G4. But really, you can't beat a custom made glove! Good luck!
