Charlie, from a old retired ironworker, you guys do great work. Im pretty sure i've seen all your videos finally. I appreciate hard work and great quality products. When you make things this beautiful people notice. Keep up the great work.
It always amazes me how many staff you have on hand at any one time. I'd love to see a day in the life of the BFWC. To see how many projects are happening at the same time

Charlie, Please have your guys wear a protective mask when working with wood or epoxy. No need to ruin their lungs over years of being exposed to sawdust and epoxy dust. The masks and replaceable filters are fairly cheap too. Thanks!

come on - he only made a quarter grand off of a table - he cannot afford to protect the hired hands. were would the profit be in that? next you come and talk about more protective gear (goggles and shoes), work clothes and other humane things.

@@BlackForestWoodCo The climbing on top of em is the best part, can't believe OSHA came after ya for some fun. I used to sit on top of sheets of plywood that were too wide for the one at my old job to stop them from tipping off lol was always my favorite part
This table is gorgeous, omg!!! Are you kidding right now, beautiful.

Charlie, as always a great table. I particularly like the cracked and broken line across the one piece, a great interest point in a table thats already magnificent. Beautiful piece of timber, the colour and grain is superb. the customer must be really happy with this one. I do miss the weekly video but I guess you are really busy. Cheers Michael.

Charlie, thanks for sharing another great video presentation. Your team make great use of safety gear although I’m not sure what OSHA thinks about your drilling and tapping the bottom for the legs while the table is suspended by the forklift. Wishing you and your team a great week, gentle weather and restful evenings. Peace brother

One thing that always sticks out to me in the vids is how young everyone is in this company, except for pops of course (haha).
charlie/ The biggest downside form the polyurethan for me is that you cant feel the Tabel itself. The Wood is blocked by a thin plastic layer and looses his characteristics and feel. I looks fantastic, but feels not natrual. But nice work as always guys!

Charlie, you need to let your crew know that when a forstner bits start to smoke they need to be sharpened. They could catch a do some major chip out (not that I have had personal experience whit that - LOL). As before another work of art by Charlie & BFWC crew. Stay safe.

Silly question, maybe but do you re-use the buckets you use to pour the epoxy? I enjoy your work and commend your skills.
Charlie. But I always watch every video from start to finish. When did Black Forest first open? And when did you, Dylan, start working full time?
@BlackForestWoodCo
Жыл бұрын
Hey Scott! We opened in 1993 originally just making solid wood doors. I started part time in 2012 (when I was 14) and full time in 2016. It was around 2017 that we started getting into the resin work as well!
THAT is beautiful

Charlie is adorable. I can never seem to remove my sanding marks. I typically sand my tables in sections and there is always visible differences between each section even with the exact same sand paper on my orbital sander. After I apply my finish (usually rubio) the overlapped sections of sanding are still visible. Any advice?
Charlie, awesome job bud.

Charlie... How do you guys use threaded inserts in the epoxy? Don't they chip out when you try to install them or are you using wood thread on the wood parts and fine thread on the epoxy areas?
Charlie. Love it.
If your Festool Tracksaw lacks Power, maybe you want to check out the Mafell KS 85. It runs on the Bosch and Mafell Tracks, but is a adjustable Circular Saw... it never let me down ;)
So nice wow!

Beautiful table but just curious does your team work with other colors of resin or just black?
Leaving the base layer to partially cure allows a chemical bond between layers. Much stronger than flatting the surface and no sander marks on the live edges.
@BlackForestWoodCo
Жыл бұрын
That is correct!
Charlie, I see you face the problem they have in many offices, the arms on height adjustable chairs do more damage to tables than all other risks combined. The arms are not used in any practical manner 99 percent of the time. The main reason and defense for their existence is for people to feel important.
@BlackForestWoodCo
Жыл бұрын
Fortunately our tables are made from solid wood and can be quite durable. I know what you mean though, especially on veneered tables the chairs can damage them so easily.
Hi Charlie, how do you decide the leading on the legs and how many inserts are needed. The span is quite long.
Charlie, do you guys make tables for people in the US? Love the content and products you create. You guys rock!
Hello there :) do you leave a top coat of resin so that the wood is completely immersed in epoxy or do you flatten it so that the wood and epoxy are flush? Keep up the great work, you guys are an inspiration!
@BlackForestWoodCo
Жыл бұрын
We flatten back down to the surface of the wood! Thanks!
