@@BlackForestWoodCo Do you ever have issues with the epoxy being marked up or damaged once items are placed on top of your tables? I had a flower pot placed on top of a tray that has a flood coat on it and an indented ring was left on the tray. I thought epoxy was stronger than that and wouldn’t mark up so easily. The epoxy was poured approximately two months prior to that happening. Just curious of your thoughts. Thanks
@BlackForestWoodCo
Жыл бұрын
@@alcolyles8914 Yes, our pour tables have scratches all over so the resin on the bottom of our tables will get those scratches in it, but when we plane it off on the CNC they go away because they're not very deep and since it's not a flood coat, after we plane it, sand it, and put finish on it, it doesn't continue to get marks in it. Flood coats are trickier because you can't plane the marks off, so you just have to be super careful with it while it cures because even though resin technically cures after about 5-7 days, it doesn't actually fully cure for about a month, so in that time it can get marks in it. there'salso a chance the ratio of resin to hardener is off if you continue to see this problem after a month.
The tables you make are just gorgeous 👍🏼

Stunning results finished table is breathtaking. I might make a custom tool with the handle made with a piece of the walnut from slab outcuts turned or carved into a handle, affixed/embedded into the allen wrench needed to secure the table leafs in a custom pouche or holder affixed/recessed to underside of the leaf/table with you firms name as an added value. Work of this artistic and craft excellence should be signed although Rembrandt nor Vermeer did not sign their work.

Get a mafell track saw. You can go through that and some.
Great looking table again. That Walnut is amazing. So what happens to the extension piece when not in use, no storage under the top where is it held and how easy is it to add or subtract this leaf. I take it the client is instructed on how and how many people it needs to do the task. Is the aluminum extrusion permanently attached to the extension leaf? Thanks for sharing, Michael.
@BlackForestWoodCo
Жыл бұрын
They just store them away in a closet, that's a good idea though! And no, the leaf is separate from the aluminium. Thanks Michael!
Hello, very impressive work, lovely table. I have a question about grempohene base coat in your ceramics rnge. I used as per usual for ceramics which has been 99% foolproof - Immediatekly after applying the graphene I polished with a clean microfibre cloth. The oak and hornbean, which had 4 well cured coats of osmo polyx...went matt and did not have that slippering feeling. It proved impossible to recover the shine to the wood. I have had to thoroughly sand back to p180 and start again. What went wrong and how to avoid it repeating? Does the graphene ceramics base coat go off or something?
Beautiful table. The hardware for the extensions is not what i would want for such a high end piece of furniture though. I would hate to have to grab tools to install the leaf in my table. I think if you used cam lever bolts to make it toolless it would be a lot better for the client.

Quiestion : How are you able to get the bolts tight on the aluminum profiles for the extendable parts .... the profiles have no holes to get to the screws ... i am guessing you made some ,so you can use a hex key on it . Will it lower the strenght ?
Love the work you guys do. Was wondering if you ever have any problems with staining just because of the super black epoxy?

I am currently building a LARGE table for one of my clients, wondering if sell to order the table leg system you just showed? I need something like this as the table is quite long and wide. How would I go about getting a quote if you do sell them by themselves. thanks nice work.
Just wondering why you don't use the CNC to cut the cutouts for the leg bases and any mounting holes while the slab is already on the bed getting flattened?
Who make the metal bracket for the tables ? Do y’all sell them ?
I want to learn how to make this. How can I get the training?

Really like the videos and the products are always 👌 perfectly finished. I do think however that the steel plates should have countersunk bolts in them. I don't see how whoever makes the plates couldn't chamfer the screw holes so that the screws could be flush with the plate? Think that would look so much better

Is the resin pour the only way to make pieces of natural wood work? Surely there must be other ways.
Would an oil and then adding also ceramic ciating be ok for finish?
