Warm up mobility drills for Racewalkers - Standing and Walking Hip Slider

The standing and walking hip slider drills are two active mobility drills for the deep core stabilizers. Did you know that our bodies have 17 stabilizing muscles? They are divided into four major groups: Gluteal, Iliopsoas, Adductor and Lateral Rotators. These muscles help us stand tall and maintain a good, upright posture. When walking, they engage in pairs or groups at heel contact through toe-off, working to stabilize, prevent your hips from moving laterally, driving your knees forward and helping you toe off. While side-to-side motion is generally avoided for efficient forward motion, these drills provide lateral motion help to loosen them up.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE: If you experience knee pain during or after the cone drill, it's likely that you need to focus on core stability exercises before resuming this drill. Please seek the advice of a trained professional to consult you on the exact cause and remedy for your structural or muscular imbalance.

    Hi there! I wasf ollowing your channel quiet a while now i just want to ask Why some walker is like bouncing ? Is there any training method to do that

    That is the straight legged running style. I don't teach it for a couple of reasons. 1. It's harder on the joints. 2. The vertical motion produced is very difficult to do while maintaining contact with the ground. That being said, many racewalkers do it and I'm sure there are coaches who teach it.
