Warehouse Wonderland ~ Nightmare Tenants Slum Landlords

Ойын-сауық

Letting agents Karen and Gemma investigate claims of vandalism and anti-social behaviour at a property they manage in Wigan, but they learn the tenant has abandoned the property.
This series follows the eviction specialists whose job it is to tackle tenants who can’t, or won’t pay the rent, and local authority housing offices tasked with going after rogue landlords. We also follow the work letting agents dealing with problem tenants. From a weed farm in a three-bedroom Blackburn semi, to drug addicts in a Blackpool bedsit, to 25 migrants squeezed into a suburban London home, Nightmare Tenants Slum Landlords, delves into dark side of Britain’s housing crisis.

In England squatting in private residential property became a criminal offence in about 2012 so squatters often turn to commercial properties instead as on the one with the solicitor helping get them squatters out. It is appalling people don't pay rent. Many landlords earn less than their tenants even and have to pay their own mortgage. They should start by removing the iphones some of these tenants have to sell them for say £800 towards £11,000 of rent owed. Then move to their jewellery and car if they own one and other possessions, but instead they seem to disappear and never pay.

@Simatra Good luck with that! Government doesn’t care. The people need to get together to make changes.. That doesn’t mean taking from the rich to make them poor. It’s about communities coming together, purchasing a site and then building cubicles as their are to many people to house. The more illegal immigrants the greater the demand. We can’t house the world!! Let’s come together to take care of our own citizens first!!

No one forces anyone to rent out their *surplus* property, and if for whatever reason he feels he 'must' rent it, instead of selling, then at least be a decent human being by renting it affordably to a family in need instead of individual rooms for higher profit. It doesn't matter what the mortgage is. Renting out property is a for-profit enterprise. Properties require the mortgage to be paid as well as other expenses related to that property. Income from rental property is also subject to income tax. When the renter agreed to rent the property they agreed to pay rent. Landlords are not in the business of providing homes for free! If the situation was reversed and you owned the property how long would you allow tenants to live in it without paying rent and you paying all the associated expenses? Even if you weren't struggling I doubt you would allow them to live there indefinitely and I seriously doubt you would allow them to leave without paying you your back rent!
