I've watched about a dozen videos on the Garmin Fenix 6 & 7. Your content is great, very practical. It answers a lot of questions that a prospective buyer may have. Thanks!

Got the 6X Pro Solar Titanium myself. Incredible watches. Found them really uncomfortable at first, but got used to it after a week or two of wearing. Was getting a strange tingling/numbness in my little finger and ring finger, and wasn't sure if it was related to the watch or not. Can wear it longer now without the sensation so don't think it is. But amazing bit of kit either way
Fenix 6 Pro is a great watch. Been using one for more then 400 days.
Great video and love the mapping tool shown

Very nice Walk and Talk again, thank you both 👍 I still have doubts about which to buy; this great, but very expensive Garmin Fenix 6X Pro, the Garmin Forunner 945, or the much cheaper Garmin Instinct Solar without the maps of course, from your other walk and talk video. And by this i mean purely for the use of navigation and following a route on one of these three watches or purely for outdoor use…. Greetings, Lars

Thanks for your thoughts, it's all down to budget really isn't it. Is the Fenix better? Yes, but 3 x better? That's a personal choice.

@@ukgpstraining Hi John, recently I bought the Garmin Fenix 6X Pro and I am super happy and satisfied with it. In particular, I chose this one over the Instinct, meanly for the topographic maps on it, the ease of on screen navigation and the rugged appearance of it. It's a super watch from Garmin with a lot of possibilities. Love it!
Hi John, great video, absolutely love walking around the Coquetdale area, have done since a young age when I did my Duke of Edinburgh! One question, can you upload the TOPO Great Britain V2 pro to the Garmin Fenix 6 Pro? I have this purchased already for my handheld Garmin GPS. I’m looking to buy a fenix 6 pro and I live in Morpeth, do you have a physical store in Rothbury I could buy it at? Would much rather give my trade to a local business.

Daniel, thanks for your question. Sadly you can not put OS maps (Topo Great Britain Pro maps) on a GPS watch. We don't have a shop in Rothbury but we do have a showroom, you can book a time slot here - calendly.com/gpstraining/60-minute-gps-consultation-rothbury?month=2022-01 - We look forward to seeing you!
Hey there! I watched this walk and talk, as well the Instinct 2 and 2s - currently the Fenix 6/6s pro (not solar not sapphire) is on sale comparable to the instinct 2 (standard) For an everyday and walking/ running watch which would you choose?

HI - could you explain the elevation page a bit more ... what do the green and blue arrows signify, and what is the little red dot on the green profile image? Thanks :-)

Will do, I will get out again soon with the Fenix and be a little more in depth about a few of the pages.
Another quick question. I noticed you are wearing a GPS receiver. Is a seperate GPS receiver still required? My currect setup is a somewhat aging mobile phone with OS maps app, a much newer mobile with no SIM which is pre-loaded with OS maps app for the area on interest, this has very good battery life and built in compass and is my primary navigation tool (the old mobile being the backup). From this video I can see the Fenix will provide the turn by turn navigation in a tough handy device though without the familiar OS maps and the big screen of the mobiles. I haven't tried navigating with the Fenix yet. Is a seperate GPS receiver still required? Do I need another gadget Thanks

No you do not need a separate GPS receiver, you may find this useful - kzread.info/dash/bejne/e6d_tKycf9LeYbw.html
Video 6 at 3:10 is missing from your web site, only 6.2 Apple version. Figured it out though. First time failed, I have a Forerunner 45 & a Fenix 6Pro. Fenix USB'd to PC, wearing the Forerunner gave error about missing data. Did a sync from my phone and it then loaded the GPX to the Fenix OK. Quick question though, the route I loaded is a 22Km circular around my home town, downloaded from LDWA website. I will be starting from home a few hundred yards/metres from the route. The downloaded file has the start point on the far side of the loop. Is it possible to change the start point on a circular route, or do I need to draw it in from scratch?
@ukgpstraining

Thanks for the heads up. You can start a route/ course/ track at any point, you don’t have to start from the beginning. Be careful though not to make you start and finish points are not too close together. I hope this helps.

@@ukgpstraining Thanks for the quick reply, that's good to know. I often find myself starting a circular route at somewhere other that the official start
I've just ordered the 6s (not pro, not sapphire) as un upgrade from my old fenix 3 - I am hoping I can still upload routes to my phone. Do you think I can? 🤔 it doesn't have maps built in like the pro or sapphire models.

Thanks for your message, for turn by turn notifications we find it tends to be how you have sent the course to your watch, we find you have to send a course via Garmin connect mobile app for turn by turn notoifcations to wok rather than a direct USB pc link, also in Garmin connect mobile app make sure you have the Turn Notification option turned on for your course before sending to your watch, we have some videos on our websites OS planner page vidoes 6.1 & 6.2 showing Garmin connect to transfer a course as per this link - gpstraining.co.uk/pages/ordnance-survey-route-planner, also on your watch make sure in Navigation Settings - Alerts , that you have Turn Prompts turned on, we hope this helps

Yes you can, just press the top right button, select the activity you are doing then again press the top right button, and once you have a satellite signal press it again (the top right button). We do have an online training course you may find useful - gpsonlinecourse.co.uk/

@@ukgpstraining - Thanks. Which activity would I choose? I like to head out with a rough idea of where I'm going and explore then find my way back. Rather than follow a set route. It'd be great to review where I'd been afterwards, etc.

What are you trying to transfer? If it is a .gpx file please ensure you put it in the New Files folder. That should then convert it for you. Let me know how you get on.
