Hi, I am an 83 year old UK viewer of this video. I have looked at so many KZread videos about operating this watch, but I think yours is the best! I have only looked at half of your video so far, but I am really impressed. I have had this watch for 18 months and still learning how to use it. (at 83 not so quick as I was). Your video has already provided me with details I wasn't aware of, and therefore making it more enjoyable and simple to use. Keep up the good work! Many thanks. Terry Davis

Hi Terry! Thank you so much for your comment I'm very glad my video help you! And I have to say I am very proud of you. There is not much people with your experience that still come on KZread to learn by themself, and the fact that you use that watch tell me that you are still active. You are a great exemple! Thank you again and hope to see you soon in an other video. Cheers from Canada. 😉 🇬🇧🇨🇦

Brand spanking new to these watches. Well according to the garmin page I tried an instinct for like 2 hours back in 2021. I got the fenix 6 solar pro something BUT i can't get the screen to stay bright enough to even read. Read somewhere that some of the Solara have some blue tint to them , starting to think I should swap out for fenix 6 solar X which I believe has a clearer screen & larger. If that's the case then that would solve the issues I'm having aside from garmin not letting me add apps stating I need the newest download yet there isn't anything newer I can download which maybe is a thing of there's???

@@HowToPM Ahh okay, that makes a lot of sense! Another possibly stupid question, but I've noticed that my watch doesn't have the same smooth animations as yours. For example, when you click in to the weather widget around 4:46, it "zooms in" very nicely. And inversely, when you go back, it "zooms out". On my watch, there are no transitions. Is that possibly another pro only feature?

Your videos are the best! One thing that I can't figure out is how to toggle between my Hike screens and a course map in navigation mode. If I start the hike, hold the Mode button, select Navigation, Courses, select course, Map, I seem to be stuck on the map and I can't see the Hike screens without exiting the map. I don't think that I should have to press so many buttons to go back and forth. How do I see my course map AND easily see my hike screens at the same time?

Ahah!! Thank you! I think you are stock on the ''pan and zoom'' screen. Press the back button and then you will be able to navigate from a window to an other.

@@HowToPM Thanks for the quick response! Back button brings me back to the Do Course / Map / Do Course on Reverse screen, which is basically exiting the Course map. That is a lot of button pressing to go back and forth. I guess I was hoping that the Course Map would load into the Hike screens so that I could stay in hike mode and just use the up and down to change screen to screen quickly. Thanks again. Keep up the great videos!

Just to close this loop, I realize now that I can select "Do Course" within the Hike activity and then have easy access to the course map and hiking data screens. My original problem was because some trail systems were not on the base maps, so I had to import a Course. I wanted to explore trails without a pre-planned route, so I didn't want to Do Course. I now know that is the only way and will just turn all "Off Trail" alerts off, etc. Cheers

Does anyone know if the Fenix 6x sapphire come with a "factory installed screen protector" ? When i run my nail across the glass right where it meets the bezel i feel a 0.5 mm gap of sorts and it feels that i could pull the screen protector off the glass.. not sure if it is some sort of glass coating or if it indeed is a "screen protector". Funny thing is even the customer care folks at Garmin are not aware of it (though they confirmed that they encounter that gap between the glass and bezel as well.

Is there a way to : 1 - get a timer that start when I pause or stop my run activity (pressing the button top right as usual). This will help me to follow better the resting time between trackfield laps workout. 2 - disable the screen view that come out everytime I pause or stop a run activity. (The one with the statistics of the current activity). It’s quite annoying because even if go back to my primary activity screen gets difficult to follow the resting time between my workouts. Thanks

    1. Well I never did it but I'm sure it's possible as I have it when I swim. 2. No it's not possible. The thing is that you may need to select a different type of activity. Try the swiming activity you will quickly understand. You must not stop the activity but create lap. When you create a lap, it create a resting time. In fact, it's probably a lap setting that you are looking for.

That is very nice of you. I never tought about that so I've just dig a bit into that. On Garmin website the recommend to return it to law enforcement office because they will never share owner information for privacy reason. But I also found that article : www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-find-out-who-a-garmin-is-registered-to They might give you a shiping label to return it to them, and then they will send it back to the owner. Thank you for being so nice! We need more people like you! :)

Salut.

GPS system only broadcast to heart a super precise clock so device can triangulate it's position by calculating the delay. It's a unidirectional signal. Internet over satellite are way more complicate, require a way bigger battery and a high monthly fee. What you want is just no possible for now.

  • @Bhaus1
