You convinced me... I bought a Fenix 6 Pro question, have you ever tried the marine maps ?? the garmin web site says that the VEU722L-Europe Atlantic Coast and VEU723L-Southern Europe work on the Fenix 6 Pro. but they are both g3 Vision and are around £350 and cover a large area, looks like you can get BlueChart g3 and g3 Vision, the g3 is cheeper (less stuff on the maps, but I can't see half the Vision stuff working on the watch anyway) also you can get 'smaller' area BlueChart g3 and g3 Vision maps for a lot less. Anyone know any thing about the marine maps, there must be loads of people that sail inland lakes and rivers, that have bought the Fenix 6 as a cheap chartplotter alternative

Hello! I'm wondering If you could help me with my problem according to synchronization on app Connect Garmin. I'm trying to add training from the list to my watch Fenix 6 Pro but there appears notification that it will be added after synchro will be done, which is already done and I have no idea what's the problem with it.

This was the best tutorial about the Fenix 6! Mine was behaving a bit strangely and just tried to access music when I pressed the Down button. Great tips about the Data views and getting alternative maps. I'm just getting started with my new Fenix 6S and am a bit overwhelmed. (PS - you have wonderful eyes! :) )

Great video again. I bought a Fenix 5 a couple of year back based on your video, and today I just used your Amazon link to purchase the Fenix 6 Pro. Thanks again for the very helpful video's!

I love the watch. I had a Fenix 3 HR and don’t change watches frequently. This watch will be a great last me long.

Nice one, very useful tip, especially around the HR details and tightening the strap. I’ve come from an AW6 and am finding the HR data which i presume drives info like calories very sporadic.

I had the emergency feature activated. One day I rode over a big pump and leaned down to check my chain hadn't come off. The watch thought I had fallen off and started to phone my contact. It does give you a chance to cancel it before it dials. Which I did. I was impressed it had worked.

Really great, answered my question. Going to buy one.

Lots of great advice here. I'm new to the Garmin and just bought my Fenix so the tips are very welcome! Didn't even know there was a middle menu button. Unfortunately, my only criticism is that for a complete newbie like myself you've not explained satisfactorily where the settings are, I've had to spend a few minutes to figure it out which isn't impossible but that assistance would have been welcome for somebody not familiar with Garmin watches. Other than that, this video is super helpful, thank you!

WiFi is actually used to sync the music. I’m not aware of a way to do that without WiFi. Pretty solid review man! I enjoy your content.

Thanks for the review. Is the Fenix 6 capable of doing off-trail navigation from one waypoint to another? I am referring to the Garmin's Foretrex 601's ability to use "Turns." That is the GPS will tell you to turn either left or right by so many degrees to be on course and show you a compass face at the same time.

It is an overall great guide video, however, I really wanted to know how the notifications work, what apps work with it, how you choose apps , and if it works with outlook. Although you showed how to turn them off because you don't like them, I really need this feature for my Job.

A good informative video. The problem is only that when you say keep your profile updated. My rest heart rate has been 30 for 8-9 months now, every morning i have to go in and set the rest heart rate to use average. The useless software team at Garmin is aware of this, but seems unfortunately unable to correct the problem.

Great video! One thing I would add, and you kind of mentioned it during the bit about customizing the first activity screen, is that the home screen is customizable! I'm sure most Garmin users know this, but it is a great feature!

Great guide, JR. Did you manage setting up WiFi or/and the music services? I've read a lot about the WiFi frequency (2,4hz) and that it must be visible. But no matter if I add a network via Garmin Connect, Express or directly on the watch I can't download songs with my Spotify Premium account although I see the playlists. Dealbreaker for me.

I just bought the Marq Athlete and I will use those tips as soon at it will arrive, thank you!

Nice summary guide John. Garmin battery estimates are a bit deceptive. For the Va4 it gives this: Battery life: up to 8 days in smartwatch mode; up to 6 hours in GPS and music mode. You are not going to get 8 days if you also use 6 hours GPS/music and have other things enabled (notifications, etc...). But, the way they phrase it, I read that as you can have both as they put it in the same sentence.

Hi JR, I used the link in your notes for the bands, but the amazon page is no longer there. Do you know of any other places where we can buy straps at a cheaper price?

I really like this device but wouldn't it be nice if you were able to go through all these settings via PC or Mac using the Garmin connect app then syncing the watch to the app. It seems a bit labor intensive using the device only to set up initially.

Hello.. what is meant by the phrase describing the Garmin 6X Pro watch? Operating system ((Proprietary OS))

Any chance you can do a video of Garmin Pay in use with PIN entry? Appreciate you might need to change your PIN for security reasons. Doesn't seem like there is anything out there to show how awkward this is or isn't. Sounds like a pain doing this every 24 hours / after every time you've taken it off.

Great video ... I just got the Fenix 6 Sapphire after I lost my Fenix 5. The reason I lost it was that the quick fit connection came undone while I was windsurfing and my Fenix 5 is now somewhere at the bottom of a lake. Do you know if there are any wrist bands for sale without the quick fit system? Would appreciate some input.

A late reply (I've only just bought my Fenix 6x Sapphire)... You would be able to use a NATO-style strap with the Fenix 6 after removing the stock one. A well-known online retailer sells some that would be suitable that don't use the Garmin quick fit system but do require unscrewing the pins on the watch to fit the strap. Just make sure you get the correct width for your model.

I just bought a Garmin Fenix 6S, not knowing that it does not have Maps function! is there a way to get maps to navigate GPS trails for hiking?

What is the estimated useful life of the battery? Is it possible to replace it when it no longer charges?
