Marcelito was born with the ability to sing in soprano, tenor and baritone ranges and does them all beautifully. He's also singing in both English and Italian...neither one is his native language... and doing it while sitting down! He's one amazing man. So glad you enjoyed him.

Love him. That voice is breathtaking. Loved your reaction as well! This is my first time watching you, but I’ll be back. I don’t know what you’ve covered, but I’m going to recommend someone dear to me. Stevie Ray Vaughan was as kind and humble as he was talented. Do you know of him? Texas Blues with a little Hendrix thrown in. I’d love your reaction to “Tin Pan Alley” with Stevie Ray and his friend Johnny Copeland. I’ll be back!❤️Donna G

Marcelito has no vocal lessons, he grew up in streets and he's self-taught just mimicking the singers. That's how he discovered his gift!

John, I have been watching for you to do a few of my favorites, This is a special one and invoked a great reaction from you - as expected. Some of your peers scoff and try to explain his talent as a parlor trick. The beauty of his singing makes that argument ridiculous. There is much to know, so this may get a bit lengthy. He was a homeless street kid. He discovered he could sing, so he began imitating the Pop hits on the street and in clubs. I describe his talent in this way: he has a completely unique memory that allows him to capture every nuance that he hears and then - his magnificent voice allows him to reproduce it precisely. That explains his unusual ability to create a purely female voice. I have heard no other male singer that can actually produce that precise sound - and I'm 83. His native language is Filipino, yet he just sang Celine's French-tinged English and Andrea's Italian - flawlessly. That strange thing that he does with his mouth after the song is because the Sound Engineers were teasing him about having a 'female voice' so he was 'removing' it. Marcelito is humble with a great sense of humor and a charming stage presence. Well, enough - I thought you might enjoy some insight into this gifted singer. Cheers.

Thanks for the awesome review of Marcelito. His talent is awesome and God gifted with lots of singing practice. He has never had singing lessons of any kind. He grew up living on the streets of the Phillipines from age 7 until 24 when he won the Phillipines Got Talent. He worked odd jobs to earn enough to feed himself and slept on the streets at night. His mother abandoned him at age 2 and his dad was in jail. They even put him in jail for a while with his dad because they had no where for him to go. He finally ran away and took care of himself. God has blessed him with an amazing gift which he has crafted into an awesome talent. He is so humble and down to earth. I was disappointed with his appearance on AGT because shafted him. He drew so many fans to watch AGT The Champions and it was because of Marcelito the reviews were through the roof. He should easily have won that competition. Enjoy your new knowledge of his talents. I listen to him every day - I love his voice it soothes me when I have had a bad day or it makes me happy just to listen to him. He is magnificent!

Some people like to bring out Dimash and compare Marcelito to Dimash, however, Dimash is a trained professional, whereas Marcelito is self-taught. Another group you should listen to is Pentatonix. THE A Capella self-taught group that will surprise you and I hope you listen to their Hallelujah (like no other), Sound of Silence (better than Disturbed) and Bohemian Rhapsody (my preference over Queen's version). Remember that with Pentatonix, you will hear instruments but it is with their voices and bodies and if there is an instrument, they will show it. Also, they do not do any videos, if they can't do it live on stage. Let's see your professional opinion of them as I've listened to other Voice Teacher's opinion and I'm wondering if you'll think the same way.

When the changeover of roles/voices happened I just loved your delighted smile. Marcelito is the real deal. No party trick here. I think, you too, are a special human being because you are able to delight in the talent of another without stinting. You listened with your whole being and I could see you singing in your heart every note with such joy. Not only did you bring your technical experience to the table, but also an obvious love and appreciation of music. Thank you.
