Love that he overcame so many obstacles! Such an amazing singer!

Marcelito is a counter tenor to start with. The rarest voice type that enables him to sing very high for a man. His "technical training" consists of karaoke practice. Winner of the Filipinos Got Talent 2011which he won with this song. He then left his construction job and started singing professionally. Just before COVID quarantine he was on America's Got Talent Champions Edition and came in first of the singers and 4th overall behind acrobats etc. Marcelito lived on the streets from age 7 so he did not learn English and uses his keyboard player or his wife to translate for him as needed. There is an interview he did on the Ellen show with a translator where he talks about his background. He sings in Asia, Europe and the United States primarily. Marcelito has a tremendous stage presence and can be quite funny. The Wish 107.5 Bus travels around the Philippines which is a series of islands to get the artists to perform. One unique thing is they all sing sitting down on the bus which is much more difficult to do.

Yes, he's singing both parts, in English and Italian, and actually speaks neither 😮😁 And he's self- taught, and practically raised himself on the streets in the Philippines. Another gift from God ❤

He sung that song The Prayer in his audition in the America Got Talent. According to some videos I have seen he finished fourth only though he got 51% of the audience vote.But he had a really really sad early life.His father was in prison when he was barely a toddler. When he was 7yrs old his mother together with a elder sister abandoned him with a younger sibling. They practically lived and sleep on the streets eating peoples leftover. He worked in poultry, piggery and pin boy.According to some reactions I have seen he would sing when he was lonely, afraid and in despair. According to Marcelito it was his elder sister who persuaded him to join the Philippines Got Talent in 2011and won.Then joined America Got Talent where he landed fourth place.Nonetheless that opened the door to his international fame.Thank for your genuine reaction.that was wonderful. Marcelito Pomoy is simply amazing. Out of this world. Some says he is an alien. Not human to have that talent. I'd just said he is an extraordinary singer, one of a kind.You should also see his other performances in AGT The Beauty and the Beast, It's Time to say Goodbye, We are the Champion and Endless Love by Diana Ross and Lionel Richie. Yeah, there was a huge controversy over him and AGT. He lost on a song that Simon told him was not a good song choice for him, when, as Marcelito said, Simon chose the song for him to sing. He didn't get to sing the song he wanted to. Probably because AGT likely didn't have the copyrights to let him sing it. Many, including me, stopped watching AGT after Simon complained about the song choice when he's the one who made it.

The first time I ever heard Marcelito was on America's Got Talent in 2019 and I cried for 10 minutes after he finished.....he has been given a gift from God Himself....you really need to research his childhood. He has really not had any formal voice training and there is a lot more to the story and YES he has A LOT more of this and all of it equally as amazing.....I have been a total fan of Marcelito and Joanne since I heard him and there is SO much more plus what he has done since AGT. I loved your reaction because it was very similar to mine....I was totally speechless and emotional. (listen to Bohemian Rhapsody, that will blow your mind too)....The Wish bus (a radio station) has given us an introduction to many amazing singers and YES he does both parts and sings in two registers in two different languages.....pretty amazing eh??

As a Filipino he sings in Tagalog. Here he sings in English and Italian. He also sings in Spanish and Chinese. In a TV show he showcased his vocal abilities when the host took the ‘control’ away from him. Holding an imaginary remote control, at the push of the imaginary button Marcelito had to switch from male to female voice during the song ’Endless Love’. At the mercy of the host pushing the button at any time, Marcelito did not falter. At the climax of the song the host was making Marcelito switch with each word in the song, until finally switching to each SYLLABLE of the last verse! Marcelito did it without missing a beat!

He was invited to sing at a high society wedding in Europe and they asked him if he could sing that song in Italian. He taught himself. Also POWER OF LOVE. He is so talented and can sing in English, Italian, French, Spanish and Chinese. He promotes himself a lot on you tube and uses his you tube earnings to feed the poor and help schools in the Phillipines. He is such an inspiration to so many. Welcome to Filipino singers! There are heaps of phenomenal singers in this Wish Bus studio (which is actually a bus) roaming around Manila. Filipinos grew up with a karaoke mike on their hands. Karaoke while invented in Japan was first patented in the Philippines in the 80s called Sing-along. Try Morissette Amon on her rendition of Rise Up in the Wish Bus.

Self taught! Homeless as a small child, he took odd jobs to support himself. One of these jobs was cleaning chicken coops. He sang to them to keep them calm. I have never met a Filipino who could not sing, especially Elvis! He has more!

The wishbus is a radio station on an actual bus in the Philippines. It moves through Manila and stops from time to time and the people get to see and listen to their favorite artists. They feature some of the best music you will ever listen to. Amazing isn't he,Marcelito sings in different voices,languages and genre's each performance will amaze you the usual follow to this is "the power of love " also on the wishbus and his 4 performances on AGT,, Despacito etc.

When he was young, his father was incarcerated while his mother left him alone with his younger sibling and went to Manila. He was later adopted by a police officer and did odd jobs when he was a teenager. Later on, both his biological father and mother had separate families of their own.

He has never had lessons. He was abandoned by his mother when he was 4. He is now married with a daughter. He’s now a millionaire and a wonderful person. He’s built a school for boys with no families.
