Great reaction - Yes Angelina's stage presence has come a long way - after the long break both Angelina and the audience were in a very emotional state, happy tears were shed in the audience and on the stage. Angelina has always had the ability to wave to members of the audience and smile while still keeping in the flow of the song. Here the interaction between the songs was at another level - she was very much surprised by the number of people that had travelled long distances to come to her concert, it made her even more emotional. The jazziness of her renditions was very apparent - no Adele covers this time... The atmosphere that evening was electric, the buzz took a long time to subside, now we have so much to listen to to get us through to the next concert - I hope attend a Norway concert next summer...

Angelina doesnt cover songs she uncovers songs and gives us something new and wonderful every time . She has with the exception of the drummer been playing with these musicians for years and it is great to see her back with them after this time of her being in school in L.A. there are videos of practice sessions and concerts where they are all high fiving and embracing each other before and after performances so they very much appreciate performing with each other. You can see how she gets energy from the crowd and gives it right back in her performance , live performances have always been her favorite . keep on enjoying this amazing young artist .

Valerie, madam, the gent on the left lower corner, is her uncle mike. It seems she wanted to sooth him, as she sang "Million Miles" and he had to fight tears (I watched him on the videos). After all it was his and Sarahs father she sang about and their Mother back in LA, still fighting to regain strength after a cancer surgery. I thinks we all can feel with them and send good thoughts to Mery. Elmar from Germany.

Valery, You are so right when you described how Angelina conducted herself on stage. I also observed that Angelina is hyper aware of everything that is going on around her. That is evidenced with how she interacts with the Audience while she is performing. There are also the little things that Angelina is cognizant of such as knowing where her mic cord is as well as where her sheet music stand is. I also noticed how subtly Angelina uses her hand to keep her gown from tripping her up, while she is singing and moving along the stage. There is no doubt that sixteen year old Angelina conducts herself as being a consummate professional whom has achieved elite master class level at such a young age. I also believe that when Angelina performs a cover she has the incredibly rare ability to be able to channel the vocal characteristics of the past greats that she thinks suits the type of song she is singing. That ability indicates to me that Angelina has a an exceptionally unique and highly developed intuition and instincts.

I always enjoy listening to your reactions, Valerie! A common theme amongst her fans is how she draws out emotions. I believe that she's an innate story-teller, which not all "singers, or entertainers" are, yet even some dancers most definitely are. A few months ago, I saw interviews with Yo-Yo Ma and a couple of days later, Ara Malikian. Both of them focused on the importance, and difficulty, for an entertainer to communicate their emotion to their audience. Both used similar wording expressing how a piece could be perfectly performed, yet bore everyone including the musician. It's something magical that Angelina possesses and has always possessed.

  • @ckh57
    @ckh57 Жыл бұрын

Thanks Valerie, wonderful comments and analysis , only I would say is, that with Angelina she does not try to sing a song the song just flows from her naturally with ease as if she just talking. To me that is why she has no problem interacting with a person in the audience for a brief moment to smile and pose for a snapshot in time and never miss a beat and flow of her song. Angelina is the total stage super super star as much at home on stage as she is sitting on her couch at home and belting out a tune of Etta James , Billy Holiday or who ever with ease and perfection . We are witnessing one of, if the greatest live stage performer singing artist the world has ever seen ! Cheers until the next one!

Just for a little clarification.... I was unable to make it to the shows this summer unfortunately :( Also, BAF was not at the Kurbadhagen shows. He was only able to make it to the Kongsberg show. ...and I'm not sure if we can refer to him as a "long time fan" as he only just discovered Angelina when she was on AGT in 2020. I tend to think of the "long time fans" as those that were following her career long before she hit the biggest stage in the world (AGT). But she did gain a lot of great new fans after appearing on AGT! It was great to see so many new "angels" showing up in the comments and fan groups. Many of them have become staples of the Angelina community. I see several in the comments here :)

@@elmarwinkler6335 Not insulted at all. I'm just not sure if some people realize that Andy, Alan, and Chris all came in after AGT in 2020, and mistake them for "long time" fans, when they are actually relatively new fans. Nothing wrong with being new fans, but AGT brought in a ton of new fans, and some (won't say which) have questionable motives IMO.

After watching videos over Angelina’s nine years of public performances, I find two unique personas in her videos. These two personas appeared separate and not simultaneously inhabiting her facial consciousness. 1) an age appropriate awareness and reaction before and after she starts singing, and sometimes during long instrumental sections between verses; and 2) ‘the singer’, the vocal artist who has an absolute control and mastery of the moment. These recent live performances suggest to me that as Angelina grows older and more experienced, she may be learning to embody them both simultaneously or to switch between them at will while singing.

She was oozing confidence, this is what I often see in true prodigies, when they are in their "business" they are not nervous, some are anxious because they are afraid of people, but they want to do this, and feel unhappy when they cannot. It´s their nature. You could feel her joy being finally back on stage. AJ wanted to be a superstar since she was very little, and here she goes! :)

Angelina’s play time was with this band although I don’t think she performed much on stage with them, however her grandmother released a bunch of her rehearsal videos in 2019. Angelina’s grandmother’s site is Angelina Jordan fanclub Mosarz . In most of them she’s about 10 or 11 and she’s having a lot of fun in fact most all her rehearsals were play time for her (no pressure ) especially with this band and Egil her guitarist in Norway.

@@johngaudet285 , all of these videos are from very few occasions only. I collected them in this playlist for easier discussion: kzread.info/head/PLddfS789jBCp_eN2CBIoBlrlbqp_Tpzm1 The first one shows her only with the piano player. I believe he (but not the rest of the band) also already supported her in Kongsberg 2016. The second video is from the soundcheck/on-stage rehearsal for the TechnipFMC concert a few days before Kongsberg in 2018: kzread.info/dash/bejne/k4qFxcxmqZDbmZM.html The next ones are from the soundcheck in Kongsberg 2018, and the last two are likely rehearsals for her Christmas concert that year (based on seasonal clothing and song choice). All other remaining ones inbetween look (due to e.g. clothing) like they are all from a forth, but single rehearsal session of her with the band. Ok, I am not good at judgeing age, but I dont have the impression she looks much younger in them. Well, these were my reasons for believing she did only play with this band in 2018. If you do not share them, that's fine. Everybody is entitled to his own opinion.

Valerie, I agree with you on Angelina taking throwback songs and making them her own and not just imitating covers. You mentioned she's been doing this for just ages12 to 15. The reality, as I thought you knew, is that she has been doing these covers since the age of seven! Wish she has a few dozen songs for me just 12 to 15, she has over 200 total performances starting at age 7 that are available on KZread. She has a lot of experience at creating these masterpieces, going back in time almost 10 years! Here is a link from ages 6 to 16 to all her 200+ chronological performances, including five originals. These encompass additional performances to those on her channels. m.kzread.info/head/PL2v8kgVeo4EbYDVnRwObjETfWpXbzbgIO

So many singers present a separate persona when they are on stage like they are acting out a part. This is perhaps ok for some songs or even right for some artists, but Angelina is just herself acting the same way as she would if she was only performing for a small group of family and friends.

You talked about the picture taking part. I was at a Larkin Poe çoncert in Cincinnati and was about to take a picture of one of the sisters and she moved, the other sister saw what happened and moved to my side of the stage so I could get a picture. If you have never heard of Larkin Poe you should look them up. Blues/Rock music.

Thanks Valerie for another wonderful reaction & comments. Agree with you comments. “Tears dry on their own” by Amy Winehouse Live from Angie’s Kurbadhagen 7-10-22 concert kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y2efqKZmlrO8p9o.html “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga kzread.info/dash/bejne/d6SYo7ttfsjUebw.html Angie’s 16 at her 7-1-22 concert at Karbadhagen Norway. “I have nothing” by Whitney Houston kzread.info/dash/bejne/m4xkyZtymrGYZrg.html Official cover Looks like they even gave her the rights to her version of the song. Dropped 7-23-22. I love how Angie put in some of her jazzy back phrasing & R&B in it also. Angie’s 3 concerts are 7-1-22 in Kurbadhagen, 7-7-22 at Kongsberg & 7-10-22 again at Kurbadhagen. Angie had a lot of fun & so did the fans. (Mattias Axelsson, Vidar Enerud, Kathrine Angeltveit & Trond Andersen are good channels to start with They have some good recordings & video's).

This was my fourth concert, and the growth since 2019 is crazy. Her voice has always been fantastic, her stage presence has been ok, but revealed that she has been younger than 20. In the last concert she was so confident, so genuine, so emotional and so heartfelt that if you didn't know you could believe she was 30 years old rather than 16. Imagine what she will be like in 2 years!

Geir - I couldn't agree more. - I loved every concert I saw her at this summer (including Allsang Pa Grensen ) and I was blown away by each and every performance but I must agree the last one, on the 10th July, was even more special, electric and with an atmosphere out of this world. I pray there will be more there at the same venues next year but that remains to be seen but I really hope so as I will be back without hesitation. 💕💕

I don't think she's a throwback to Amy Winehouse. She is a throwback from long before Amy. Amy also styled herself to era's before which is why there are some similarities. Too many comparisons to Amy. Angelina is so much more than that.

This is great! Please do Danaliya Tulashova's version when she was 11 kzread.info/dash/bejne/qpyjtZd9mqfLm8Y.html its pretty amazing too! Its closer to Rihanna's version because Danaliya is closer to R&B and Angie is focused on Jazz.

Hi Valerie, I always liked your reactions to "Beste Zangers". For 2022 as always a decent up mix between young and experienced. Can't say I am enthusiastic about all the names and from a international point of view I would have also liked to see a "dance diva" like Nance, Anita Doth or Des-ray (Desiree Manders) representing the Eurodance period of the late nineties and the early 00's where Dutch Dance brought an entire generation especially in Europe and Asia an energetic and positive message. A message that is dearly missed in these times. Their songs are still on my workout-list and I think AVRO-TROS has done them dirty by neglecting them all of these years....and apparently again this year. So if you need a "energy rush" and feel the need to know what I am rambling about or have no idea what the heck "Eurodance" is here is my small contribution: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hqdkw7qkf5rUdtI.html Back to the artists who are on the list and the name that stands out for me is "Nielson". A singer-songwriter that shot up real fast over here and more or less disappeared just as quickly. Apparently he struggled with depression and the struggle with "sudden fame". He is an outstanding songwriter and guitar player like Tim Akkerman and I really like how he works with "harmonizing" voices like in the song "Hoe" with Sanne (Miss Montreal) who was in the Beste Zangers 2 years back. kzread.info/dash/bejne/YpOhpMSqlpiZhNI.html Keen to hear your thoughts and hopes for the new season.

Am I the only one who notices that this hairstyle is not Amy Winehouse? Amy Winehouse did not invent the Beehive hairdo. This is Priscilla Presley more than Amy Winehouse. Why does everyone act like Amy Winehouse invented the style that she embraced, which is basically kind of a copy of another era. So there's nothing wrong with Angelina embracing a genre that she loves that Amy Winehouse just so happened to also love. And by the way Amy Winehouse was nowhere near the singer than Angelina is.
