I’ve heard creationists argue that evolution occurred at breakneck speeds after the worldwide flood that never happened, so I’m still unsure whether you’re serious or not. Personally, I believe they were rhinos all along! They never died out, after all! Maybe behemoth evolved into a hippo!? (Or was one, all along.) Such wisdom these holy books profess... maybe I’ll even stop washing my hands since only what comes out of the mouth will defile a man. You’ve given me much to consider, either way! @Wayne Collins I’ve never seen an organic car before. Sounds neat. If those car parts have cells that contain RNA to replicate and divide, give them a few million years and some selection pressures and you might get close! I’ve seen plants shaped like cars before, but they weren’t cars. However, if they’re made of metal, plastic, or anything else that *isn’t* an organic compound, I imagine you can wait until the end of time and they will never become what you’re looking for them to become. At least now I know you were serious, and that you seriously misunderstand what the scientific theory of evolution actually says. Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays. This was a massive flood, forget salinity & huge chemical changes. The nitrate, nitrite, ammonia & so on with that level of death would have wiped everything out. You're talking basically everything land dwelling dying, can you imagine the eutrophication that'll take place? That waters within a month would be vile, but can you imagine how toxic they'd be as the levels receded? PS, they sued their insurance for rain related damage! Just let that sink in

Gunzee His family and him would have to carry tons of parasites in their bodies and probably die. And he would have to bring extra animals to kill them and use them as meat for the other animals. Lions, tigers, bears etc. eat a ton of meat. And how about termites? They burrow into and eat wood, they might puncture holes in the ark. Also, a wooden ship of that size would need massive metal braces, which Noah sure didn’t have.

I always bring up arguments and ask them to my parents who are very religious. Everytime i say something that is “too logical” they will always reply: “Do you think an omnipotent god would let that happen? This is not 100% noah’s effort. God was always heavily involved in keeping the animals alive, gathering them to the ark, and repopulating them”

@Wayne Collins Are you being serious? (I hope not) Kevlar was created in the 1950s-60s, and there would be no way Noah could mine, smelt, and mold titanium in the Bronze Age (he wouldn’t have known what titanium was). Plus, Noah would’ve had to get so much of it and create massive braces out of it. This sort of thinking seems to me to be the norm among Christians, you guys realize that things like Noah’s ark make no sense, so you try to speculate (bad speculation at that) how it could have happened within what scientists know now. Christians (mostly evangelicals) need more critical thinking skills.

Why does it have a bulbous bow? A bulbous bow is a modern invention used on modern ships to reduce hydrodynamic drag so as to increase top speed and to reduce fuel consumption. But Noah's Ark had no engines or sails as its function was simply to float until the flood waters receded. So why does the replica have one? Seems rather unscientific if you ask me.

Myths have always been around to help explain what is difficult for the human mind to grasp. Lucas, I have no desire, intent, or need to debate you. As long as you are comfortable believing your myths, and if that mythological consciousness helps you live in this world, then I say, "Good for you." To me, this Noah's Ark story is the absolute most ridiculous story to believe from a rational/scientific perspective. BTW, science is what gave us medicine, electricity, technology and advance methods of growing and cultivating food. Religion, or mythological consciousness, gave us crusades, terrorism, racism, and fear.

Only need 2 of every kind, so only two from the bear kind who then get off the boat 4500 BP and then super rapidly evolve into polar bears, grizzlies, giant pands, koalas etc. Then of course there is the 99% of all species that have both evolved and then gone extinct within the last 4500 years.

The whole story is just a few paragraphs from and ancient scroll that has several later translations. Pretty amazing we still critique it. We could add to it what we want as society and laws of physics and scientific discoveries are made but we don't. Here are some modern answers. 1. Where does all the manure go ? It is turned to bio-fuel and used to run the Ark's engines. 2. How is the methane from the animal farts handled ? Same as first question. Also used for the lanterns. 3. How do the animals get fresh water ? Sea Water Desalination 4.. How are the meat eating animals like a domestic cat fed ? They ate all the dead animals floating on the sea. Or Dinosaur Jerky.

It was a local flood and Noah saved his family and herds of animals preserving there life, making them the dominant race of the Near East. Shem being the Godly line. 3. It happened just like the King James Bible said and God supernaturally took care of all the problems. Given how densely packed the ark would be, I'd be concerned about overheating & methane poisoning, rather. (In fact, I suspect this is why the Ark exhibit had stuffed animals instead of a zoo. That and the cramped conditions.) Of greater concern at that altitude is the air pressure. Poor bastards wouldn't get enough air.
