/ @gerritaalten
The large wooden structure lies broken into mainly three large pieces beneath the surface of the glacier somewhere between the 4000 and 5000 meter level on the mountain. Remarkable and most amazing is the presence of the huge slanting wall on the left side of the passage in the video. The wall rises up from the second deck approximately 5 meter high. At one point in this part of the passage the wall is supported by a triangular construction. This originally must have made it a very strong connection to the whole construction. The corridor at the right side behind the wooden brace is visible over a lenght of about 40 meters.
June 2018, 10 years have passed after the rediscovery of the remainders of Noah's ark on Mt Ararat.
The American author of the book "The Archaeological Evidence of Noah's Flood", Philip Williams visited the large prehistoric wooden structure on Mt. Ararat on November 9th 2014, as a prelude towards a thorough scientific investigation under auspices
of Turkish scientists and authorities.

Samples of wood, animal dung, feathers, fur, even human DNA samples can be obtained. They should study the age and origin of the wood and inspect the joints for tooling marks. Also, the dirty ice should be sampled for any organic matter. This can be done for free and tested at any university worth it’s salt for almost free. Why hasn’t this been done?

Im a woodworker. The joinery and crafted pieces I can see in the pics is spot on. It is definitely a giant boat! The joinery is the same joinery a 'traditional' boat builder (builds boats by hand the old world way) would use today.

I used to work in a wood shop as a hobby so I know a little bit about processes using power tools, saws, sanders, planes, etc. The ark has always been mind boggling to consider. All the work, no electricity, board after board, joinery, and so absolutely massive to withstand the floods while carrying the rebirth of the world within. Awe inspiring!

Fascinating. I have never been a Christian or religious at that. Only because it's hard to believe without answers. Some of the stories of the bible I defiantely slowly starting to believe. I know we all have a higher power and something greater above us all. To wonder about the history of this earth is amazing.

The woodwork is amazing, these techniques are still utilized today in furniture construction, flooring and fencing. I saw tongue and groove, mortise&tenon, dowel and no sign of nails or screws, but, however, no signs of an adhesive either. If it was all force fit then swelled with water, that is just amazing craftsmanship!

I will answer any question but please be respectful of this historic posting.

I realize it's been encased in ice for thousands of years (if this is really it) but I still wonder, how that wood can be in as good a condition as it is after all this time, even in the cold and ice. There's still bound to be some deterioration right?

Did anybody notice how large the growth rings are from the trees used in its construction (look at 5:51), trees back then grew very rapidly judging by the width of the tree rings. This means they would have had plenty of new trees to use as they constructed the Ark.

Very interesting, very wide growth rings on the large beam ends, indicating an annual rate of growth one would expect from the water and soil conditions of a near Eden-like ecosystem as described in Genisis.

  • @Sduell60
    @Sduell605 жыл бұрын

It is interesting to note how thick the tree rings are. These trees were seeing a great mix of sun and water to stay this uniform in size and magnitude. IF it is the genuine article, which seems likely, it would seem that we might want to proceed with caution. The natural tendency is to melt it clean and see what there is. HOWEVER, this would be a rash decision. Many times we have discovered that when we try to excavate something like this, it turns out that what it is encased in is actually the only thing holding it together. Bring up a salt water item and watch it crumble to dust when it dries out. Expose a mummy and it crumbles to dust. Sometimes leaving the item in place is the only recourse. Secondly, if it is determined to be genuine, it may turn into a tourist trap as many of the faithful come to see the wonder. I am all for letting people get closer to their faith, but it wouldn't be hard for charlatans to make and sell fake fragments of the Ark - or worse yet, actual fragments of the Ark. There are many other ways to deceive the faithful in this situation but I do no want to be giving anyone ideas or suggestions. Third, 14,000 feet is not a safe altitude for many of the faithful and it might literally cause deaths. Not to mention the hazardous path to get to where it is located. Many people are simply not up to the challenge and would need to be frequently rescued. I have seen other videos of this location and it does certainly present many compelling aspects that make it a likely candidate for being the Biblical Ark. I look forward to future updates on this topic. Thank you.

This is utterly amazing. I do wish they'd had better equipment, and taken some samples for dating and simple verification. The Bible calls the wood the ark was made from "gopher wood". What was that? If this is the ark we could know! Also be nice to get some radar in there, do some scans, and then start real archeology on it. The site would be challenging, but doable. Assuming the Turkish government lets such a thing proceed.

Lots of comments say wood looks too new. It was gopher wood similar to Rhodesian Teak. Super Hard wood impervious to bugs, water, and decay. Plus Noah spent 100 years building it and Noah was huge. People were larger before the flood due to atmospheric and genetic conditions so he perfected this ship. Imagine no video games, music, pathetic 40 hour work weak. Just straight preaching and building for what equates to a whole of one of our lifetimes. And he had 3 sons with the same strength and fortitude. Looks legit.

It's a wooden structure embedded in a glacier. What leads anyone to believe it is an ark? It is more likely a fortress of some kind, given its location. First examine the structure more carefully and then it may be possible to determine what this structure may have been

Remember the Ark was built in cubits, so it would not be shaped like a boat we see today, but it would be a rectangle. The exact measurements are in the bible.
