Where Did All the Water Go After the Biblical Flood?

Ойын-сауық

In this episode of The Genesis Account of Noah’s Ark, Calvin Smith reveals where all the water went after the biblical flood, as well as whether or not the flood could have been a local (rather than worldwide) event, as some people have proposed.

Might be interesting to note that recently scientists discovered that the Earth's mantle hides an ocean that contains 3 times more volume of water than our existing oceans. Which is in line with what Gen 7 spoke of: "On that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened." So flooding wasn't just a result of water from above, but also from the gushing from under.

This also lends proof to the flood being worldwide and the whole world's landmasses being as one. I personally believe that all the upheval that happened where the waters of the deep broke forth from the ground was a precurser to the continents actually rearranging themselves during the flood.

What most people don't realise is that the Earth has a closed environment, which means that the total amount of water doesn't vary. It's just distributed to various parts of the planet at different times, according to temperature, rainfall, flooding, etc. Sometimes it's ice, sometimes it's steam, and so on. But not a drop escapes the environment.

So Sea level Rise and Fall depending on which side if the plate you are on.In New Zealand the Kaikura earthquake pushed sea rocks and boulders up exposed the Shellfish attached to the rocks to sunlight and no sea water as the tide came in.so they died. We also had people like my ancestors who arrived in 1350 they harvested shellfish and made piles of empty shells which were eventually covered in earth now we dig up Maori Middens aka rubbish dumps only shellfish and slivers of broken rocks used to open and scrape out the shell. Plus fish and Bird bones . Some cultures used to transport preserved food from the sea inland. Or used shell to add nutrients to the soil.

The rising and falling of plates is another reason you can find fossils in Kansas or Dakota, a thousand miles from the ocean. Its driving force is the molten core of the earth, not the invisible hand.

Baloney. There was never a global flood to begin with, and as a consequence there was never an ark. Such a flood would have produced evidence contrary to the evidence we see. For instance, how do you explain the relative ages of mountains? Why weren't the Sierra Nevadas eroded as much as the Appalachians during the Flood? Why is there no evidence of a flood in ice core series? Ice cores from Greenland have been dated back more than 40,000 years by counting annual layers, and the Vostok Antarctica cores go back 420,000 years. A worldwide flood would be expected to leave a layer of sediments, noticeable changes in salinity and oxygen isotope ratios, fractures from buoyancy and thermal stresses, a hiatus in trapped air bubbles, and probably other evidence. Why doesn't such evidence show up? How are the polar ice caps even possible? Such a mass of water as the Flood would have provided sufficient buoyancy to float the polar caps off their beds and break them up. They wouldn't regrow quickly. In fact, the Greenland ice cap would not regrow under modern (last 10,000 yrs) climatic conditions. Why did the Flood not leave traces on the sea floors? A year long flood should be recognizable in sea bottom cores by (1) an uncharacteristic amount of terrestrial detritus, (2) different grain size distributions in the sediment, (3) a shift in oxygen isotope ratios (rain has a different isotopic composition from seawater), (4) a massive extinction. Why do none of these show up? Why is there no evidence of a flood in tree ring dating? Tree ring records go back more than 12,000 years, with no evidence of any such catastrophe during that time.

I don't care either way, but a local flood (not global) can just mean that all areas with people were flooded, instead of every square inch of the planet (for example, no need to flood the North/South pole if nobody lived there). What I didn't like about this video was that it's all assertions with no alternate possibilities. Are we supposed to think that God can cause a flood, but can't cause a flood just in the specific areas where people are? Besides, there's no need to be so decisive about such an irrelevant topic (it only serves to divide churches against each other). There's just a weird strawman vibe to this video, like one group is trying really hard to be right, but isn't extremely skilled in scholarly debate (a la William Lane Craig, who is the best). IMO these kinds of topics, like 'Young Earth', are now being intentionally used to divide, by people who aren't what they seem (just a different color of Flat Earth). None of this stuff should affect how you live your life, so it's certainly not worth dividing a church over. Every person thinks that all of their beliefs are correct, individually (or else why would you believe it), but only a fool actually thinks that he is correct about every thing he believes. And there's no need to be 100% correct. It's irrelevant. It's merely intellectual entertainment.

The repetitive idiocy of Christian apologetics should long ago have been confined to the sub-rock crazies who actively believe abject mythology is fact. Sadly, the lack of critical thinking and exercising native intelligence either was never present or has been inculcated out of people through a generations-old system of brainwashing.

Hi friend, the book of Rev chapter 14 1st angels message tells us who are at the end of time to go back to creation and learn the truth about our creator See Jesus and his father could see by the end of time a man theroy of evolution would destroy the book of Genesis and the 4th commandment of God, which also speaks of creation What I don't understand is why so many Christians hate the 4th commandment of God when it points to creation The majority will battle not to keep that commandment even though it point to who their God is and who created them

If you shift the dark matter in the sun using heavy isotopes like from the asteroid belt or a big space rock. Cuz the Bible says let the innocent cast the first stone. If you cause a void in the sun it will push the dark matter over. When this occurs, the gravity will shift the earth and the other planets will fly straight in their orbit of the sun as the sun moves to re-establish the gravitational forces. When this happens because the Earth's core is not solid, it will fall out of the suspense that's created by like say it tennis ball on a string is rotation around the sun. This would cause the oceans to technically be able to fly as the shore because as your spins on his axis to seashores will push the ocean up like around Seattle, Washington. You have the mountains so the oceans will go up and be overhead. Now there's a sign of this. The asteroid belt is a collision between what appears to be two planet size rocks. Never mind the Kirkland Gap ratio... Now once the sun restabilizes around the dark matter that that is core and the gravity, the dark matter is probably just the smoke from the star. That's so messed up magnetically that it falls back into the star and just gets tortured so you get dark matter. Really heavy material. Also space smells burnt and what fire burns without smoke?? Anyway, the gravity on Earth will restabilize and the oceans will fall from the sky. Noah was told to go inside of the arc yet none of his neighbors were able to steal it because it happened quick the flood. Also the art design is like a cork. It should surface straight up and stay keel down. You've taken a shower and you've seen as the water would be spraying around. Everything on this planet would be wet just like the Bible says. It rained after the great flood for a very long time. But Noah was already up on the water as the rain was coming. One of the big things that's missing from the story is the ordeal of as the ship was trying to take off from the water because it would have been plowing into people's houses, hills, etc. None of that is mentioned. Sometimes the biggest clues are in the omission of material. If the great flood were to happen today with the Antarctic being covered in ice, it would be so heavy that it would shift to the equator and Chicago would become the new North Pole. You'd be thrown hundreds of miles within potentially minutes so your arms and legs would be broken and you would be looking up at an ocean ready to fall on you. Who knows when it will be thou... In a way you would be meeting Jesus on the clouds 🏹☁️🛸👍🙏

May I share these words with you? Who Is Jesus the Christ? Your Question Will Be Answered Today, if you take the time to read. Amen! I love you Lord! Jesus The Messiah (Yeshua Ha Mashiach). Christ is our Living Passover(Our Living Sacrifice) Acts Chapter 4 verse 12: "There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved.” Isaiah 9 vs. 6, "For unto us a Child is born. Unto us a Son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.“ The Virgin Birth Christ, born of a virgin, Mary. Matthew Chapter 1 verse 20: "Behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him (Joseph), in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for that (Christ) which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit." Jesus, the Christ, is God’s Word made into flesh. 1 John chapter 5 verse 7: "For there are 3 that bear a record in heaven, The Father, The Word, and the Holy Spirit: and these 3 are one.” John chapter 1 verse 1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John chapter 1 verse 14: "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” John chapter 1 verse 10: "He was in the world, and the world knew Him not.” Hebrews chapter 4 verse 12: ”For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” John’s Vision Of Christ Seated On His Throne In Heaven: Revelation chapter 4 verse 2 to 3: "Immediately, I (John), was in the Spirit, and behold a throne sat in Heaven, and One sat on the throne. And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance, and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.” Why did Christ Jesus came and sacrificed His precious life for sinners like us? Because through Adam’s disobedience, sin and death entered the world, and all human race. Christ came to undo the sin and eternal death brought upon the world through the sin of Adam. Christ, who is God’s Word made into flesh, sacrificed His life for us. He was crucified for our sins and transgressions. Christ died, and on the third day He resurrected in the flesh, conquering death and the grave. Now, Christ is seated in Heaven, at the right hand of Power (God the Father). Through Christ’s sacrifice we gain Salvation through God’s abundant mercy and grace. We are reconciled and recompensed back to God, through the shed blood of His begotten Son, Christ Jesus. John chapter 3 verse 16: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” Romans chapter 5 verse 8: "But God demonstrates His love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Death in Adam, Life In Christ: Romans chapter 5 verse 19: "For as by one man’s (Adam’s) disobedience, many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s(Jesus's) obedience, many will be made righteous.” Romans chapter 5 verse 18: "Therefore, as through one man’s (Adam’s) offense judgement came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even through one Man’s (Christ’s) righteous act, the free gift came to all men, resulting in the justification of life.” Romans chapter 5 verse 17: "For if by the one man’s offense (Adam’s offense), death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in the life through the One (Jesus Christ)." Romans chapter 5 verse 12: ” Therefore, just as through one man (Adam) sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.” Romans chapter 5 verse 21: “So that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Through Adam, sin and death entered the world, so that is why Christ Jesus came to give life, and give it more abundantly. Yes, Christ came to give eternal life through Salvation. The Salvation of His shed blood, and resurrection. Adam’s flesh brought sin, death, destruction, and condemnation. 1 Corinthians 15 : 21-22, “For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ, all shall be made alive.” Christ’s sacrifice, the crucifixion of His flesh, brings reconciliation of sins, resurrection, eternal life, salvation. Christ is coming back again, not as a sacrificial lamb. He is coming back as a roaring, warring lion, to destroy sin, death, and the grave once and for all. Amen! Halleluyah! Revelation chapter 22 verse 12 to 13: "And behold, I come quickly, and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.“ Now do you see friends, why Christ Jesus is so Important for our Salvation? Yes. Now, do you understand why there is only 1 way to God, and that is only through Christ Jesus? Yes. Christ is Salvation. Christ is our Lord and Saviour. Christ is the only way to God. Christ is the only Mediator between God and men (us humans). God loves us so much, He does not want anyone to perish in hell. God wants all sinners to be saved. That is why He sent His Word to save the world. God’s Word became flesh, and dwelt among us to save us. Will you accept Christ and be saved? Your eternity depends on it. What happens after death is what is most important. Where will you spend eternity? Death is only the beginning of the next life. Romans chapter 6 verse 23: ” For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” John Chapter 3 verse 16: ” For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” Salvation is free! Christ already paid the price, all you have to do is receive salvation through acceptance of Jesus Christ, Yeshua Ha Massiach. So who is Christ? He is the Word Of God made into flesh. He is the Son of God. He is God. He is the Image of the Invisible God. He is the Alpha and Omega. He is the Beginning and the End. He is the Great I Am. He is Emmanuel. He is the Christ. He is the Messiah. He is the Creator. He is our Lord and Saviour. He is our Mediator. He is the Lion and the Lamb. He is the Rock not cut out by human hands. He is the Root of David. He is Salvation. He is the Way, the Truth, and Life. He is the blessing promised to Abraham. He is the Gift of God to the whole world. God created the heavens and the earth with His spoken Word. Did you know that Jesus is that Word, through which all things were created? Yes. John chapter 14 verse 6: "Jesus said to him,” I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Colossians chapter 1 verse 15 to 16: "He is the Image of the Invisible God, the Firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.” John chapter 1 verse 1 to 4: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” Christ is for all who will receive Him. Will you receive Him today? This is how our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ said we should pray. Matthew chapter 6 verse 9 to 13: KJV “Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.” Now that you understand who Christ is, share Christ with others. Christ is The Good News. What do we do with good news? We share it. Amen! Repent of your sins. Leave a lifestyle of sin. Sin no more! Be baptized in Jesus Name. Submit to God. Love God with all your heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit. Keep God’s Commandments, (read Exodus 20: 1- 17, see the 10 Commandments of God). Love one another. Forgive one another. It is written, “resist the devil, submit to God, and the devil will flee from you.” Hate sin with all your heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit. * Hebrews 10: 26, KJV, " For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins." Acts 11 vs. 15 to 16, ” And as I began to speak, The Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning. Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, “John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” Psalm 68, verse 4 KJV: " Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Extol Him who rides on the clouds, by His name Yah, and rejoice exceedingly." Halleluyah!

Nonsense. Christianity has a tremendous legacy of encouraging scientific research, building on the belief that all of nature is God’s creation. Through modern science, we are becoming increasingly aware of how God has crafted the universe around us. Hundreds of years of research in geology, paleontology, biology, and many other fields have produced abundant evidence that the earth is billions of years old and that fossils and geological features formed through many processes over eons of time. Today, 99% of PhD biologists agree that plants, animals, and humans formed through evolutionary processes. The perspective offered by biblical literalists like Answers in Genesis forces people to choose between the Bible and modern science, and reinforces the harmful cultural stereotype that modern science and biblical Christianity cannot mix. Sadly, Answers in Genesis and their ilk stake the authority of the entire Bible - and Christianity itself - on the view that a global flood is a viable alternative to abundant scientific evidence for a much longer chronology of creation. To do so, they must add in many speculative details not found in the biblical text, such as the “biogeographical rafting model”, and they must rely on a theory of post-Flood animal evolution in which species diversify at rates many times faster than any known biological mechanism. These theories, along with many others posited by young-earth creationists, are not based on credible scientific evidence - in fact, they contradict the clear empirical evidence in God’s creation.

I often find Young Earth Creationists very condescending. Here, Calvin is not a *large* exception, but he is quite respectful overall. However, I will credit him this: he is incredibly thorough, and he provided a piece of thought I had never considered nor heard before-- the fossils. Death before the Fall. How it never occurred to me, I'm not sure. But it has certainly given me something to think about. To clarify something, I still believe that the *earth* was formed over billions of years. But that does not equal me believing in biological evolution. This is a common fallacy found in YEC arguments, yet they often ignore when I, or others, correct that view.

This is the best creationist presentation I have seen! 5.30 - 5.57: This is the key to this presentation and precisely everything that creationism hinges on. If evolution did occur "then it robbed the fall of Adam of its serious consequences...what then is jesus to save us from"...6.05 - 6.09 "how then do you determine which parts of the bible are true". Thank you, Calvin Smith, you have really cleared up my understanding of creationism. This clearly shows that creationists accept the bible as true, beyond any doubt. There is no evidence needed. However, when evidence is presented, you just go out and make it up to ensure that it fits into what the bible says. This is absurd. I can only liken this to fascist propaganda. Nazi propaganda was based on falsehoods and distortions of reality aimed at promoting the regime's ideology and justifying its actions. One could similarly say: Creationism propaganda IS based on falsehoods and distortions of the TRUTH aimed at promoting the regime's ideology and justifying its BELIEFS. This is fascism. It is using propaganda to indoctrinate people. It poisons people against reality and truth. It denies children an education. It is dangerous.

But yes it is on Mount Ararat, on the North West Corner.

Keep in mind before the flood it was only one continent, and it never rained before the flood, as it was then after the flood or possibly even during the flood that the land masses started to move and separate from one another to where we have what we have today the water ended up in all the oceans seas lakes and rivers and streams.

Hi friend In the book of Genesis, Jesus said that him and his father created the earth and the heavens Then their light shown upon the waters There was no land on earth, for it was a vast amount of water In verse 9, Jesus said he created the land mass I was amazed when I actually found this out The world was only a ball of water first, then Jesus divided the waters, and he created land on the 3rd day Which he called the earth and then water seas Friends, there's a vast ocean under us. This world will always be able to create food and vegetarian life as long as God always the water

Pointing out the inconsistencies of the local-Flood theory is good practice. I brought up those very same problems with Old Earth creationists. There are just too many theological issues with Old Earth creationism and the local-Flood theory.

@@johnnyappleseed5029 Wrong, Illusion is not magic, it's a mind trick, smoke n mirrors, sleight of hand, strange images to trick your eyes and brain. Magic is when a god poofs everything into existence out of nothing, while Theists say Atheists think everything came into existence out of nothing. Magic is saying an encantionation spell into clay to make it come to life, then taking that new living thing, ripping a rib out of it, and doing it again. Magic is flooding an entire planet without leaving a single trace of it ever happening, and making all that water cease to exist. Oh I know, you want to make claims that this and that is evidence of a global flood, when you have no clue what evidence is, how evidence works, and what you are even looking at. "We cant show any evidence whatsoever where all this water went, so we'll claim it magically disappeared. And that is my evidence for a global flood."

When the Earths crust broke and the "fountains of the great deep" released their fury, the ocean floors rose. That fact alone was a huge contributor to the flood. The mapping of the ocean floors in 1953 revealed some astonishing facts. We can still see the scars on the earths crust from the breaking of the fountains of the great deep! And when the fountains subsided, the ocean floors once again dropped back down. Taking with them incredible amounts of water.

@@drummersinger5324 Its called expansion and contraction. Not magic, physics. Exposure from a very cold ocean floor to a very hot earths mantle, then back again will do that. The heating of the oceans did the same thing. Then after the scars in the earth healed and the obvious, global volcanic activity subsided, the oceans cooled and contracted back to their previous state. Ever watch a pot of water boil over? It doesn't take Harry Potter to make it happen.

@Drummersinger Look at it like this. You have a large bladder that is filled with water. There is also water on the outside of that bladder. If that bladder were to swell up, it'll push the water on top away causing anyone on the outside of the bladder see everything lift. When the bladder stops, people would see it subside.
