Try mineral oil next time. Does the same thing and safer for your skin.

I don’t regularly do this and I actually use CitriStrip the least of all products/substances I use for restorations. Although, I’d bet long term and regular use is probably not great for your soil or the environment, I don’t think this particular instance has ruined my yard as much as it may effect my concrete driveway.
