Vintage Movie Bristol Park St. And Long Ashton Research Station 1969

Vintage footage of Park Street in Bristol and also of The Long Ashton Research Station which has now been re developed for housing. This was the home of the National Fruit And Cider Institute and where the blackcurrent juice drink Ribena was developed as a Vitamin C supplement in the 1930s.
This film was shot in 16mm by an amateur in August 1969 on Kodachrome and digitised by us - www.moviescan.co.uk

    Much of this is now under a massive housing estate. The Research Station was a major employer of local people and it is so sad to see it as it was and even sadder to see how it is now.

    Yes its a shame, once these places are redeveloped they are gone forever
