A 60 second clip of footage from Lewes in East Sussex including the castle , streets and river from 1938.
This was transferred from 9.5mm movie film into a digital format.
The scenes include Lewes Castle, Castle House, The Barbican, The Bottle Neck, Keere Street with Harry Pinyouns bakery signs, School Hill, Cliffe Bridge looking north with not a house in sight then south with the warehouses.

My home town! So cool to see how it looked 90 years ago, although to be honest, it's not so very different today. All the places in the film are instantly recognisable.
