@@Restomaniac A job well done! Compliments for your dedication! Personally I would have veneered the top with strokes along the sides, and not a full sheet. But with the dark stain you used it came out perfect!

Не стоило красить в чёрный цвет.Лучше бы один раз промазать краской и вытереть,а после покрыть бесцветным лаком.Так бы просматривалась текстура дерева и шпона.Да и шпон при такой покраске в абсолютно чёрный цвет,является лишним.....его все равно не видно.

Сам шпон изначально был не сплошным, а создавал геометрический узор. В этом основная ошибка, что столешница просто была закрыта листом шпона. Да и какой смысл был его класть, если текстура шпона была убита такой чернотой. Просто бы весь стол вышлифовать, покрыть морилкой под махагон и в слоёв пять шеллаком закрыть. Красивая бы вещь получилась. Автор канала с деревом не часто работает, наверное, потому так грубо в целом получилось.

@@Excvositorum Да, тоже хотел написать, что узор, составленный из шпона в оригинале, надо б было бы повторить, а не закрывать сплошняком. А то, что результат был перекрыт черной морилкой, вообще молчу. Да и стыки ножек с основой стола нужно было доработать, а то зазоры по 5мм

A rosewood color stain would have been interesting, allowing characteristics of the wood and the fabulous carvings to be evident.....The restoration measures were great..... Perhaps he wanted the repairs to be fully concealed??

Золотых рук мастер! Такой многочасовой кропотливый труд вложен в реставрацию! Я живу в Германии и тут люди регулярно выбрасывают на мусорку прекрасные предметы мебели иногда смотрю и сердце сжимается, когда красивая мебель идет под прес мусорной машины! А тут человек великолепно реставрирует практически разрушенную мебель... Честь и хвала!

Мне уже нравится, обожаю смотреть, как мастер, казалось бы совсем непригодной вещи, делает произведение исскуств, преклоняюсь перед талантом мастера- реставратора. Спасибо за труд.

Если вы считаете это реставрацией, огорчу вас! Изначально столешница имела рисунок из скорее всего разных пород шпона. Резьба по дереву окончательно уничтожена(( Да сделано вроде как красиво. Но это не реставрация! А халтура!!!((( Реставрация всегда подразумевает возвращение первоначального вида изделия!!!

@@user-yq7pj9ln9w Удивляют люди которым нравится халтура!(( Надеюсь вы живете не по таким же принципам! Скажу по другому. Стоимость этого столика с реставрацией примерно 10.000 евро. А с тем что сделано я не дам и 100!! Сам иногда балуюсь для себя деревяшкой. Но основное уже 30 лет реставрация старых, редких авто. И клиент просто не простит такую "работу"!

The amount of craftsmanship and effort to take on a project like this is insane. It look like it was being head together by devine intervention and a Harry Potter spell then to turn out so beautifully; amazing !

I see a number of comments on the issue of the darkness of the stain. Although we may see it as too dark I believe you were spot on in using it. It is undoubtedly what was used originally. Your rescue of this piece was amazing and I feel perfectly accurate. Bravo on an amazing restoration.

The original veneer was several book-match pieces of possibly a variety of woods. He may not have been able to get some to do the restoration. Regardless, he did nicely rescue this piece from the trash and return it to being a nice-looking, usable table again. That may also be why he opted for the very dark finish. Good job.

Waaaay too dark for the style and waaaay too glossy....Looks like plastic. Phillips screws covered with epoxy not really on for an antique. Finally the veneer stain was blotchy and looks a bit bumpy in spots. (Contact cement would have done a better job) Other than that good job or at least everyone else thinks so.

Beautiful work! My mom used to have this exact table, sadly she had to sell it due to financial reasons. It’s pretty amazing how close you got the colors. The base was a matte black and the top was a dark wood stain. All the comments that are saying it’s too dark are wrong (lol, not seriously) but the original color scheme is supposed to be dark.

Fabulous!! Easy to follow every step through the process as I am just beginning to learn flipping furniture with that much work. I have flipped about a dozen pieces but never as intricate as this one It's just beautiful.

Fiquei apaixonada por essa mesa. Eu vivi em Portugal um tempo, e encontrei uma mesinha quase igual, toda detonada, eu com meus limitados conhecimentos e ferramentas consegui restaurá-la, ficou linda. Pena que depois de um tempo comigo tive de deixá-la, porque voltei pro Brasil e não pude trazer comigo. Espero que a pessoa que vive na casa hoje esteja cuidando bem dela.

Очень классная работа, но мне нравится более теплый тон, что был до этого. Этот столик получился кардинально темный , но до этого был более мягкий естественный . Но это мое мнение о цвете, а так стол и работа потрясающие.

Satisfying to watch, thank you. My recommendation is a longer duration showing the finished piece. I didn't like the dark stain very much, but i do understand why you used it. Next time, you could re-veneer the entire top with a nice wood and leave it more natural.

Darker color probably helped conceal some patchiness based on how the filter vs. the wood absorbed stain differently.

One question: considering the wood looked really dry, I'm wondering why not condition it? * Don't come at me. I obviously don't know. Lol That was so satisfying to watch. It's a gorgeous table whose life was saved!! Yay for that! I think it would have looked nicer if it was stained a little lighter, like so many have said. The beautiful details would have shown up more. I'm just happy to see that it was salvaged. 🙂

Great job, lots of work! Good to see it saved in spite of so much damage. I had one of these old tables in my college apartment. It was a tall end table but it was in nice shape & light color, very old

I had no idea you could do all of those things with or-to veneer! The table was fascinating start to finish. I’m curious what that teeny tiny sander or file was in your hand that I couldn’t really see. Also the epoxy and sawdust? Very creative. The ending is a stunner!! It looks so beautiful. it’s not that matte finish that’s popular now with darker stain-that actually looks like paint-It retained looking antique. Brilliant job. The beauty is hidden in the details. It takes a sharp eye to find the pieces worth restoring. Thank you for sharing ❤

You did such a good job of restoring this once damaged table - it was very satisfying to watch! I personally would have either painted it a fun/funky bright color like a bright brink or green & glossed it OR painted it a more light muted neutral color such as a ‘french grey’ & waxed it… but this is all subjective to personal taste! Well done…

I do not want to be too critical but I think that it would have looked better with a stain and varnish, instead of the antique varnish which in my opinion gives it a bit of a fake/cheap look, kind of a Chinese style. Sorry.

Esse trabalho de restauração, de recuperação de algo que um dia foi útil,me enche os olhos e o coração de tanta alegria.admiro muito esse dom que o nosso querido Deus deu a você e a muitos outros.parabéns!! Eu tive a grande e linda oportunidade de restaurar uma cadeira antiga que comprei num brechó perto da minha casa.A experiência foi maravilhosa.Quero repetir mais vezes.!! I restauratori di un museo si sarebbero inorriditi di questo restauro. Un restauro serio non prevede uso di materiali moderni (colla vinilica , viti di mettallo ecc.) Un restauro deve prima di tutto rispettare le modalità di costruzione originali dell'oggetto . Se questo tavolino avesse avuto un valore storico con questo intervento lo ha totalmente perso. Questo tavolino adesso va bene per una casa ma non certo per un museo. E come se avessero restaurato la Monalisa usando i colori acrilici e non ad olio .
