I signed up to go on a tour with Azizi Life, and I did the home food tour. It turned out to be even better than I was expecting, and truly a glimpse into rural life and a community in Rwanda. The food, the culture, and the dancing after lunch was one of the highlights of the day!
Muhanga Town - In the morning we first drove from Kigali to Muhanga Town, about an hour outside of Kigali. The green mountain roads were spectacular. Rwanda is known as the land of 1000 hills, and I think that might be an underestimation as there are never ending hills in this part of Central Africa.
After being warmly greeted and welcomed by the community of ladies, we first went to go fetch water. This is something many of us, myself for sure, take for granted. But in the rural countryside of Africa, even in cities, there are many people who have no running water, and when they need water for anything, they must walk to the well or source of freshwater, and carry all the water they need. It’s something to always remember.
Next we got started cooking all the food. Most of the ingredients for the Rwandan feast they cooked were from right there, on the hillside, from the small family farms. We had dozens of different vegetables, and of course - beans which were one of the most important foods of this regions of Africa. It wouldn’t be Rwandan food without beans as I’ve heard! Final dish was akabenz, a famous Rwandan pork dish.
You could taste the freshness of all the ingredients. The food was honestly a little plain for my usual taste buds, but I fully appreciated the natural ingredients, the simplicity of the dishes, and the love poured into each dish.
After eating a giant Rwandan feast, all of a sudden they started breaking out into dance. It was one of the highlights of this entire experience.
Thank you to the entire community for hosting us and to Azizi Life for setting it up!

Yes kudos all around, much kudos.kudo goo.gl/search/Kudo+roots+of+the+word? Kudos | Define Kudos at Dictionary.com In the 19th century, kudos1 entered English as a singular noun, a transliteration of a Greek singular noun kŷdos meaning “praise or renown.” It was at first used largely in academic circles, but it gained wider currency in the 1920s in journalistic use, particularly in headlines: Playwright receives kudos. Then again it can be from the Indian kuddo meaning turnips - "well done !you deserve all the kudos coming your way"

moureen mbuu Agnes Sinja Africa atleast u save yourself from these white people and all their artificial things. They will introduce chemical cosmetics, machines for everything then slowly try to take over the basic needs ie given by God as free will be sold by them, thereby making us slaves. They will sell seeds of hybrid/GMOs ie Non-reproductive, chemical mineral water. Whites main motive is to become God to us by making us depend on them for all basic needs, like food ie seeds of Non-reproductive varieties that will make u depend on seed companies every year and what they give us is waste seeds and already because of them 500000 farmers have committed suicide in India, their chemical mineral water will damage kidneys, they will make u depend on them for giving birth and for becoming pregnant ie they will sell sperms, surrogacy, Artificial Insemination, etc., The only good thing that they do is telling about Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Again ,they use his name to spread their chemicals and worst culture lastly will mislead u and say he is not there. Be careful, Most importantly they will spread deadly diseases by mixing lab made bacteria or virus in water sources, kill many and then will Start giving chemical medicines and vaccines and there by open their pharmaceutical business. Be careful Happy Africa, God's people! Learn lessons from India, they have already spoiled everything here. Their white skin color is because of extreme weather conditions like Ice. They are also Humans only but are very dangerous and cunning. Chase them if u see them again.

@Mark Rigsby I didn't mean to refer to you. Got you confused with the original poster. I'm more than familiar with the story. Colonial rule by the Belgians, divide and conquer of Hutus and Tutsis brought long simmering ethnic tensions to the surface, post-colonial rule saw periodic pogroms of the tutsi minority population by the ruling hutu majority. Which led to a crisis in the early 90s and civil war. Breakdown of the UN brokered peace process, and the downing of a plane carrying the president of Burundi, kicks off genocide led by the hutu extremist government and their proxies in the interahamwe militia. By the end of April 2004, close to 900,00 are dead. It had nothing to do with culture my friend. Unless you want to call hate and genocidal rage culture. Again, thought you were the OP.

Agnes Sinja Africa atleast u save yourself from these white people and all their artificial things. Chase them if u see them again.

my eye were immediately filled with tears when you said the air is getting thin while carrying just one and the little boy was carrying two 5:55 me and my son are beyond blessed to live in a country where i feel like we are very spoiled. i use to live with my step mom who was a horrible human being she would not allow me and my brothers to eat "her food" and would make us starve at time and even then God had a salvation army where they use to feed the homeless and they had clean water and food. clean water and food is never a problem in america, is our souls that is a problem. unlike them who have to walk far just to go get water, very humble loving caring people. i humble my self before God when it comes to what i have, where i live and everything that not to many people have. keep making more videos like this mark ♥

We live in a "civilized" culture where appreciation for many things are lost. This throw away society works so hard for what they have, just to throw it away for bigger and newer. It is good to see people that live with basics and are happy. The daily tasks of survival replace our gyms. Family interactions replace our technologies. Thank you for this video.

Dire Monametsi Agnes Sinja Africa atleast u save yourself from these white people and all their artificial things.

I love Mark's videos because they're so personal. He don't have a camera crew which makes it more authentic. He gets to communicate with everyone on a personal level. Best food channel.
