I gave up on the series shortly after Ragnar died as it became just another soap opera. But this scene looks like a truly epic ending, well done to the scriptwriters, actors, director. Edit - I keep coming back to watch this, it just 'appeals' in such a fundamental way. Well done Monkey and the series for enabling such a quality piece.

It's one of the best shows I've ever seen. My grandmother passed away a few days before I watched the episode containing Lagertha's funeral, they'd lost their Matriarch and my family had lost ours, it was so emotional to watch. I really connected with this series and it's greatly missed. "The Last Kingdom" is a good watch if you're ever in need of a Viking fix lol

I remember when, as a child, I learned that the specific spelling of my family name indicated a Norse heritage. We were poor, unimportant, in consequential, looked down on in our local area as the equivalent of trailer trash in parts of the US, with a tiny farm and no money,. However, learning that we had Viking ancestry made me reconsider that our family had survived until now and that we had a long, proud heritage and proud ancestors . I had found the wherewithall to hold up my head with pride, to endure when times were hard. and I was close to despair. I passed this knowledge on to my son when he was ten.

Why did the bloody vikings, have to murder so many monks and destroy so many monasteries in Ireland and in England? And then they became Christians, the hypocrytes, thiefs, murderers. Somewhere Ragnar Lagartha was pure of heart, every man in childhood and youth He is mischievous, that's why I loved him so much.

I'm from india i saw the full series...it one Gud history for Vikings.... Norway and sweden fellows must watch this series.. ❤❤❤

The countries, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, didn't exist back then. It was a patchwork of small kingdoms ruled by Jarls. Generally speaking, the Vikings from what today is Denmark and Norway, sailed westward and the ones from Sweden sailed east. Westward the Vikings travelled as far as what is New Foundland today and east all the way down to the Black sea. They founded many of the modern cities that exists today such as Kiev, Dublin and others. Interestingly enough, Finland didn't have any Vikings and Iceland was settled by both Norwegian and Danish vikings. I can wholeheartedly recommend "The flight of the raven" which is a superior Viking story compared to this.
