I think commenting about her high notes is underrating her artistry. This is not even should be judged by the wy she sang it but by the she delivered the message.

Hitting the high notes if necessary close to perfection is included in artistry. Ask the voice coaches and thy would tell you. It is not opinionated but a fact. And you said “the way she sang” means her style and that is what we are talking about. Delivering (style) the message is already in there. Her style is hitting all the notes perfectly including the difficult notes that we mentioned. Again, ask the voice coaches. If she sings in lower notes would you think it would be better than what she did? The answer would be no that is why she preferred hitting the higher notes with class and that’s what she did.

However, everbody who would've read my comment, apart from you, would've understood that what is meant is you're giving more emphasis on the high note than on the message. Lea Salonga has always been not about hitting the high notes. She would even sacrifice those at times just to give more impression.

Lea salonga should be declared national treasure by Philippines. No one could have done this any better. So moving so humbly performance.

She's exceptional singer.beautiful.

Surely this is one of the most beautiful voices on earth. I’ve watched her sing I Dreamed a Dream probably 30 times this last week since I stumbled onto her. Sometimes in life you’re surprised by greatness - and you wish you could describe it. But then you realize that sometimes in life the goal Is not to attempt to describe everything - but only to experience it. This is one of those times. I don’t know what to say.

This hymn has also brought more depth to my Lutheran faith. When Lea sings this hymn it grabs my heart and soul like nothing I can think of.

When I heard the song I cried like a baby, headed to my bedroom, and prayed. I just wanted to have a few precious silent moment with my God. It's sad that that you have to quarrel instead, and change hateful words, about who is the better singer. You totally missed the point.

I agree there was much more emotion and depth in this one than in the original. I was part of a group that did this on Easter Sunday. I wish I had heard this one before I did it. It was this is totally totally beautiful. It was a great gift to God

My only critique is that she didn’t dress appropriately for the occasion with her off-1 shoulder top she wore. JMHO.

She is a good story teller and every words of the song penetrates in the heart of one who hears it. She sang with passion, perfection and even in spanish.

I play the violin but I've always wanted to be a singer like Lea. The quality of her voice fits with this kind of music. She sings with that powerful voice. I cannot compare her to Sandy Patty. They both have different quality of voices. :)

Because Jesus took that walk, all of us human being are free from condemnation because Jesus took upon himself our sins and the payment that God demands for our sins. I got goosebumps with chills (good ones) running up and down my spine all the way to the top of my head in listening to Lea on her rendition of the Via Dolorosa in reference to Jesus's way of pain to heal our own pains. I could feel the love of Jesus as he walked that rugged stones on his way to be crucified for our sins. The man who knew no sin has imputed the sins' for the whole world taking the punishment that is meant for you and me.

She only sang one song that I heard which wasn’t for Jesus and that was when she sang the national anthem at the Escuela Americana on the 50th anniversary. Now she’s probably singing at the feet of Jesus. Lea brought tears to my eyes here as she did in her role in Les Misererables.

She must be walking with Him on The Way while singing this. Beautiful

trent8002003 Not trying to shove religion down your throat I just wanted to share some testimonies . My stepdad before he was a Christian was fishing and got his boat stuck. It was winter and he didn't want to get in the water so he decided to pray. Before he was done a man pulled up and asked him if he needed any help. The man said he lived two hours away and something told him he had to go help someone. My grandfather once picked up a man on the side of the road and talked to him about Jesus because an audible voice told him to. The man was a backslidden preacher and he had a gun with him to commit suicide. I pray you will think about it l.Jesus is real and He wants a personal relationship with you. He suffered such a horrific death to pay the price for our sins. All He asks of you is to believe in what He did for you and sincerely ask Him to forgive your sins and He will. God bless!

+Angie Maxwell There's no such thing as "shoving religion down your throat." Christianity isn't a religion in any case, though there are religious practices attached to it. All we are instructed to do by Christ Himself is share the story. It is then up to the listener. :-)

@@MaskedMan66 what are u talking about. Christianity is a complete and total religion indoctrined with rules and stipulations that one must obey by or suffer consequences. The only path out there in the world that is not a religion but is actually considered a "way of life" is Hinduism, where this path teaches the acceptance of multiple spiritual paths to enlightenment whereas abrahamic religions teach only that "there" religion is right.

+xxplicitdyme1 Nope. Christianity is a direct relationship with the Creator and Savior. You see, God is not in the business of sending people to Hell; quite the reverse. The whole reason for Christ's mission on Earth was to assure Heaven for those who accepted the gift. The breaking of a rule-- in other words, the committing of a sin (or even many sins)-- is not grounds for fear, because forgiveness is also God's business. As for Hinduism, its main flaw is that it is very wishy-washy and not at all clear about what is right and what is wrong. Plus, it adheres to a bigoted caste system, even today.
