For those who requested, here are the lyrics to Lea's great performance:
I dreamed a dream in times gone by
When hope was high and life worth living
I dreamed, that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung, no wine untasted
But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
As they turn your dream to shame
He slept a summer by my side
He filled my days with endless wonder
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came
And still I dream he'll come to me
That we will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather
I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream
I dreamed

..and on top of her incredible skill and mastery of her vocal range and control, she manages to completely act and perform the scene in a concert performance setting with no set and without much of the spoken material, without moving around, just standing at a stationary microphone. That is an exceptional performer. They have done several more anniversary celebration performances of les miserables and the 10th anniversary performance and cast are still pretty much unanimously and without objection regarded as the best cast and performance and often referred to as 'the dream cast'. I have always been a fan of Lea's, from kindergarten when Mulan was my favorite movie, and I have seen so many versions of Eponine and I dreamed a dream, many from incredible talented, amazing performers, but Lea is just on a completely different level and I don't think anyone will ever come close to her performance of this song and as Eponine overall.

Lea had the perfect voice for this time (still does). We are truly lucky to have witnessed her singing. I saw her both in London and New York. Cried both times.
She makes it look so effortless, but having taken voice lessons I know how precise the jaw, lips and tongue must be to articulate correctly, all while relaxing the throat and exercising the diaphragm. I see and respect her discipline and effort to create such beautiful vocalization, especially because she makes it appear effortless. Bravo, Ms Salonga! Bravo!! ❤️

Michael Ball ,the hands down best Marius ever, No one sings Empty Chairs like Michael. Nick Jonas didnt come close.Disappointing when you've seen Michael, he owns the role.
Not once losing control, despite all the emotion. 🙌

For sheer spine tingling, tear inducing performance Lea hits me every time. Ruthie Henshall also has the same effect. That said, and cinematic editing notwithstanding, I have to say Anne Hathaway's portrayal as Fantine and her performance of this deeply moving ballad deserves recognition. A grown adult male blubbing like an infant may not be an appealing sight but that's how I was in the cinema when Les Mis' took to the silver screen. I've seen 3 productions of this fantastic show in the West End, sadly none with the original cast, and thoroughly enjoyed each occasion. Both the 10th and 25th anniversary productions were a fine tribute to this timeless classic.
It is 2023 and this is still the greatest.
I'm still watching May 7 2021♥️ #Leaforever♥️

"Goosebumps" are good!, I think. Only human have the "goosebump" response? Maybe that is what makes us different? tinyurl.com/ItOccurs2Me
