Veterans React: Air Force vs. Coast Guard
Ойын-сауық
You asked for it: we reacted to the historical documentary TROPIC THUNDER.
For this week's edition, Richard Ryan brings on Chris Costa and Jarred Taylor - Coast Guard and Air Force are goin' head to head today. We hit everything from Tom Cruise snapping necks in "Collateral" to Mark Wahlberg providing a little overwatch while his buddies enter and clear the suburbs.
What should we react to next? Let us know in the comments!

^ Retired US Merchant Marine here. Huge respect for the USCG, especially the SAR guys. We had one come out of a pitch black rainy December night on the North Atlantic and step off onto our aft deck. Damn that guy had nerves of steel. We had wrapped up the severely injured Chief Mate and hooked him up to the winch on the helicopter. The Coastie took him from there and delivered the Mate to a hospital. Couldn't save his leg but at least he lived.

They Too are also a bunch of “Seamen” and is that the Famous “Coast Guard” Operator they were waiting for in the “How to Train like an Operator” Video? Much Love to Fellow Service Members Past ,Present,& Future. Keep up the Inter-service Rivalry Cause you know you wish you were in the Corps.
They show Chris Costa the Coastie “Tropic Thunder” but totally blew the opportunity for him to react to the “I served in Vietnam...I was in the Coast Guard, Sanitation Division” joke 😂
I served with HMM-261(Among others) starting in 1986.. among my MANY duties, we assisted the Coast Guard in S&R... i have NEVER EVER made disparaging remarks towards them... the shit they deal with.. the bodies they pull from the sea... i watched mere boys (Actual men) jump into the open sea from helos , often times bad seas, just to pull a body.... CG.. they are my Brothers.
I think this is the first time Jared is not embarrassed about joining the AF.
Can we get Jocko on here? I feel like the paradox of happy Richard against Jocko's personality would be great.
I think it’s funny how Chris Costa is on this video, even when they made fun of him on the “How To Be Tacticool” video. Good sense of humor.

Evan Monast ya, maybe. this was 2010, economy was bad and jobs we scares. All the cops in the reserve unit were not leaving, spot we’re limited I assume. But I still have the resume today, and no shit they asked for one. I was told that they were not looking for the marine type of leadership. After that, I realized I was being discriminated because I was a crayon eater... marine lives matter. And God bless the Marines that went down on the coast to California today. Thats kind of a slap in the face. Understanding that the CG can be pretty picky and as far as the resume thing goes, I have to wonder if he was referring to eResume's that others have to fill out for assignments? Just a guess. I don't know what the Marines have to fill out to change once duty stations. Could have been ignorance on his/her part. Maybe getting in touch with another recruiter would help? I'm sure any PSU would be happy to have someone who knows how to tie their shoes much less handle a firearm. But just a warning, your camping equipment is way better then ours so don't expect any "cool" stuff. . ;-)
