Vessel USB220 + Plus & Premium Red! Is it a good electric screwdriver for a locksmith?

In this video we are going to take a in depth look at the Vessel 220USB-P1 AND the Premium 220USB-P1 RED
along with a Amazon alternative and a handful of other items.
One of the main disadvantages of this driver is, while you can use standard hex bits the chuck takes a longer base bit (for lack of better terminology) and the driver only comes with a longer Phillips 2 driver bit. While this is great for doorknobs and such the main place this driver shines (for me) is when rekeying large amounts of mortise cylinders so I highly recommend ordering these items:
Vessel GS5P-01 five pack of bits, one of which is a short Phillips number 1
Vessel USB161100 one pack of the longer 100mm yellow thin shank Phillips number 1
Vessel AC162065 two pack of the shorter reduced shank Phillips number 2 drivers, recommended by Justin T
Both of these plus more are shown in this video
Some of the other items will be in a future video so definitely stay tuned by subscribing!
Thank you to Justin T for sending out ALL these goodies for me to check out and show y’all here!
Thank you to Ken Nixon for sending in the Amazon driver to show as a alternative

Great overview. I kinda forgot I sent some of that stuff. The modified bit holder was made by just sticking the bit holder backwards in a 1/2” drill and used files to cut and shape it. To get a tight fit I use one of the double ended philips to get the tapered end shape and depth and the coved notch. I also used a slightly smaller round file for the grove to help with in and out slop. The oring in the bit adapter works best with standard 1” bits to prevent bit wobble. I haven’t seen anyone make any of those adapters. I know Makita sells a “bit adapter” that achieves the same thing. But designed completely different and doesn’t retain it self. Speed settings : Slow blink - slow speed / Low torque fast blink - medium speed / medium torque Solid - high speed / high torque

Very nice, they look like Japanese karaoke microphones in the box. I'm still using the apex with the rubber coating removed you mentioned. Thanks for sharing 🤠

I tried t leave comment earlier, but seems YT prevented it from being posted. The electric screwdriver I sent Jason was CHEAP, Inexpensive (less than $20.00) from Ama-zone

My small electric screwdriver is an Amazon "DENALI" (comes with 33 bits in a nice plastic case). Anything smaller I use a small ratchet by ICON (Harbor Freight). For anything bigger, the Milwaukee M12 ,or the Hercules 12V, electric screwdriver are without peers.

Yea I have had the us version hi torque, 220 Japanese type c version I'm regular gold and blue. They do make a makita spacer oem by maita f to go from 13mm to 9mm but it falls out. I use 13mm bits in mine for electrical work daily double ended works out well. I also carry engineer dr-22 a bit holder (made in Taiwan) that will take 9mm or 13mm bits on both ends it's rhe universal adapter for Japanese to us and vice versa. The answer for me is to have a few Japanese bits for thoes and regular import vessel bits for the us market for the impact. If you want a handle that looks super tight no play like a dedicated screwdriver to use any 1/4in but period (including 13mm) the wiha centofix(expensive made in China but good) no slop and you can use thoes reduced shank bits but have a usable handle. Thoes wera harpoon bits work well for knobs and small things as well. Most of us sparky love us some vessel electric screwdriver for cover plates, switches and outlets!
