Less of red chillies & 1/2 handful of black pepper & 1" piece of dry ginger called sonti will give v.good taste Sir👍👏🙏

shyamala genupur , this is for tomato rasam and as you can see the powder will turn black. Always add hand grounded pepper in the boiling rasam to have best result!

Y there is no pepper? Rasam means there shud be some pepper is it? May be mangalore rasam is wdout black pepper, but red pepper 😁😁

Sir, I was all set to make Udupi rasam including soaking tamarind in water when I saw to my dismay that the powder( which I’d made a while ago) had gone bad. Anyway, I had rasa podi that I’d ground in the mixie , but took your advice and added jaggery in it and was truly awesome 👏. Went ahead and made the Udupi rasam powder for the future

It is keraladish.. Tamil nadu also we make a dish called Pulli Inji with jlittle jaggery and green chillies

In udipi rasam, we dont use pepper... If we want pepper rasam, only then we will add pepper..
