Good video. This is clearly a design weakness. In my case the black rubber grommet had stuck to the bottom of the waste container. I spent several hours investigating why the machine was leaking and got nowhere, until I watched this video. So I pulled the grommet away from the waste container and managed to re-seat it with some grease to assist. The machine works ok but I suspect that now water has leaked down into the motor compartment it will end up just as shown in the video. This carpet washer (like nearly all such appliances) is definitely not designed for maintenance, as you can clearly see.

Absolutely agree , I bought a reconditioned one on eBay , & within 1 months smoke was coming out of the motor & it ceased . They replaced it free of charge & a replacement was sent within 48 hour (not from Vax ) having about 2 hours intermittent use in 6 months the motor has started smoking again , but nothing went POP ! Like last time . But I imagine it’s not far off , I did see foam bubbles emitting from the cooling vents from the motor. 😳 not sure whether this a problem from vax or the refurbisher. Good video , thanks ,Dave

Correction. The grommet had stuck to the bottom of the cleaning-fluid container, not the waste container.

Very helpful video. Exactly the same thing happened to mine. Will never buy a Vax again. Absolutely cheap and nasty design and construction. Didn't last very long.

How on earth do you get the small pipe back on that valve?

What an abysmally designed product. Built to fail.
