I am a solo camper and I have a walking stick that doubles as a stun gun! Great invention! I also have a flashlight with a built in zapper for midnight walks to the campground bathroom, lol!

Hi Nomi, we Jamaicans use browning to get that beautiful brown color in our stews. You can burn sugar in a little oil to achieve that rich brown color. Btw your food won't be sweet. Essential seasonings for Jamaican cooking are scallions, scotch bonnet pepper, thyme, garlic, onions, pimento seeds, aka all spice.

That looks like a flash flood zone to me. Just be aware, because it doesn't even have to be raining where you are for a flash flood to come through, it can be storming miles and miles away upstream. Might be a good idea to make it a habit to wear your hiking boots when out in rough terrain like that. Very easy to turn an ankle or fall and it looked like you were struggling.

Packing cubes are the best thing ever. Depending on how long the trip and if I'm working I will pack the clothes for each day in a packing cube. It makes being organized so much easier.

Compression cubes are even better. Amazon does have some with different patterns in a set that would be helpful in sorting outfits/items. They've been a lifesaver for me, especially when traveling carry-on only.

She uses a backpack, so stuff sacks would have been a better option, much more compressible. I love the packing cubes for suitcase packing.

Errand day with road visuals . . . some of my favorite videos! And that donut? Girl, as a Vermonter I knew that had to be a winner since EVERYTHING tastes better maple glazed and with bacon. Try maple and bacon ice cream - it'll change your life. Please also be careful when exploring areas with known predators. Running is actually the worse response because it activates their prey drive. Get some bear spray and a bullhorn! Sometimes I'll be fussing at you through the computer screen, lol. I'm fully invested in your safety as though you are my little sister! Nomi...something you may want to try...African Ancestry. It changed my life. It started me on a journey to truly find out about Africa. My first country i visited was Tanzania 🇹🇿 Zanzibar. Its now my go 2 vacation spot! Then i went to Ghana bought a couple of plots of land that I'm going to start building on this year! I may be wrong about this but it's my understanding that both the TSA and Customs will require ANY medications including OTCs need to be in the bottles showing what they are. Otherwise you will not be allowed to take them with you. I know just crossing the border from the US to Canada they sure won't allow it! Also, that lake you're sure you saw was probably the phenomenon known as a mirage. They are very common in the deserts and it doesn't have to be summertime for them to appear.

When filling up your propane, make sure to turn off the fridge first before they turn off the valve to fill. If you do not then the fridge burns up the propane in the lines while the main valve is off during refill. This can cause airlocks.

I travelled Europe this summer and used the same Lifestraw bottle! No waterborne illness for me so I highly recommend that bottle!

With the medication you've bought for your trip - when you go through customs you'll need to have all the medication still in its original box.

I have always wanted a jet boil I think they are unique and awesome I follow a lot of you tuberd van lifers and nomad campers lol and they use jet boils I'd us it in my camper easier then turning propane on just to make coffee. Have a good weekend.

Hi Nomi. Any liquids, gels aerosols or cream (e.g. sunscreen) have to be packed (and must fit) in one quart-sized ziploc or TSA approved toiletry bag for all carry-on bags. You will also likely have to take the quart-sized bag out of your carry-on and place it in a bin for screening at airport security. If you don’t, your bag may be pulled for further inspection. All airports don’t follow the same rules, so make sure to do your research so you’ll be prepared. Happy travels!!!

The lake thing is a bit strange but i suppose you get all sorts of different reflections of light in the desert. You've def got me using more spices in my own cooking, yum!

Most big chain truck stops like Loves, TA, etc fill RV propane plus the bigger RV parks often have their own filling stations. The big dealerships like Camping World too.

Get you some Bed Bug Spray! They had them bad Over Sea for the Models that Travels there. I heard it on the News.
