Hey Nomi! So happy to see you in my homeland. Not sure if anyone has commented this yet but curry dishes in Jamaica are definitely East Indian inspired. Jamaicans are actually referred to as West Indians. Most people, like myself, can trace their roots to West Africa. Meaning the spices along with the slaves were brought to Jamaica. I’ve been to Jamaica and I fell in love. The Bob Marley tour was amazing. I also climbed the waterfall in Dunn’s River Fall. It was so important to me to do that for personal reasons but I did it and climbed the whole thing. The locals are so nice and humbled. They are grateful for you to explore their products and even if you don’t get anything they are just grateful to talk to you. Even when I didn’t buy anything I still gave money.

I got sick while traveling once and all I remember is being sick. My prayers are with you for a speedy recovery. Once you return home you need to get somewhere and rest for at least a week. Your body will thank you.

Pineapple has bromalaine. It's great for inflammation and your lungs.Lots of vitamin C too for the immune system. You're abusing yourself when you travel while sick and you risk a lot, if you got sicker and needed medical care, you don't have the health insurance if you needed antibiotics, etc Don't do that again for your own well being and safety. You're not at your best, and you're not as alert when you don't feel well. Safety first. Always.

White pineapple is the best and I believe less acidic than the traditional yellow. In Hawaii we always went for the white pineapple whenever we could. Glad you are feeling better. That was a great tour.

I knew you would start feeling better once you got to Jamaica. It’s Paradise. I have been to Negril and was blessed to make wonderful friends who took me to the Rain forest and several villages. It’s been over 20 years since I have been there… the locals called me Jah-Merican because I went there three times in one year. Your video is beautiful, it stirred up wonderful memories. I also recommend that vacationers support the locals. The food is amazing. I highly recommend The Cliffs Resort in Negril Jamaica 🇯🇲 ❤ some of the friends I mentioned are members of “The Itals” wonderful music, wonderful families. p.s. Gunja is very popular on the island lol

Thank you for enjoying my country. You are correct about the curry. Our country's motto is "Out of many, One people" meaning we are made of many cultures unified under one umbrella being JAMAICA. So the inspirations in our foods come from all these varied cultures that have been through the slave trades and the indentured labourers trades have created and influenced the culture the food and dance everything.

Great video. I am glad some countries practice not allowing filming of grave sites and respecting the dead. When I travel to the caribbean, I always purchase spices. They taste so good.

I think you got a swindled with that pineapple. If you convert, 1 USD = 0.0006 Jamaican Dollar. I dont think Jamaicans are paying 650 ($4usd) for pineapples.

I'm happy you feel better, but I still feel traveling while sick is risky. Anyway, Jamaica looks beautiful. My uncle used to go there every year for Mardi Gras and to visit the friends he made over the years. I'm still wearing the ring he brought back for me from there and you ain't lying about Jamaican rum, it's no joke!😂 Take care Nomi!✌🏼💕

I saw an old documentary on Bob Marley last year. I immediately recognized that courtyard area where you were sitting outside the gift shop. Bob was being filmed there while playing in a pickup soccer game with other villagers. I definitely enjoyed seeing this video...thanks for sharing .👍

I think this is the first video for jamaica. Big up all mi jamaican people, who supporting my girl nomi.i found nomi a year ago. I have been following her since. She is so genuine, no fake. Like how she eat her food and give us some before she eat. She dug right into her food. She don't play cute at all, like how some people pretend. OK nomi, u did tried the beef patty.

I LOOOVE those Biscoff cookies. One of my faves. You can get them in the grocery store too. No 1st bites til you're all better! I hope the tropical climate will contribute to your healing.

PS, my niece felt like crap, went to the Dr, tested negative for the big C word, still felt like crap two days later, so went back to the Dr and that time tested Positive. 🤯

Thank you for another adventurous video. Also real Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee is some of the best in the world. It goes for $30-$50 lb here in the U.S. When I first tried it, I didn't even like coffee, and I was blown away as to how deliciously smooth and creamy the finish is. You must try it!

Bob early died at 36 of melanoma (skin cancer). How did he get it? Anybody that has skin can get it plus I’m sure they weren’t using sunscreen back then, he’s the same age as my mom who also died of cancer when she was just 32 💔. What an interesting tour.
